His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1761: Chapter 492: New Assistant (Part 3)

Upon entering the studio, Qin Mu saw that almost everyone was there, except for two who hadn’t arrived yet due to a visit to the clothing factory.

Xiaomei came back with breakfast; neither she nor Zhao Huai likes to cook breakfast. They prefer the feeling of lining up for steamed buns in the rain.

However, she bought a lot, guessing that perhaps not many had eaten.

So when Qin Mu walked in, the aroma of steamed buns greeted her.

”Don’t you all have breakfast at home in the mornings?”

As Qin Mu walked over, she asked, seeing two boxes of steamed buns on David’s table, she took one out from there.

Although she meant to scold for making the office smell like buns, the feeling of eating together with everyone was simply delightful.

David stood up to offer her his seat, and without hesitation, she sat down, eating her steamed bun.

The others stood or sat around eating too, and watching Qin Mu finish a steamed bun in two bites made them all laugh.

”Hey! You really need to stop bringing this kind of stuff into the studio. It makes everything smell, what if clients come and smell it? And what if I gain weight?”

Qin Mu said as she picked up another one, knowing that she could only indulge in one more.

At home, she liked to eat just enough, but when with colleagues, she couldn’t help but eat a bit more.

”That’s all thanks to Xiaomei, didn’t have breakfast herself, but still brought some for us.’

Qiu Xiang said while eating, having fallen in love with Chinese cuisine in her first year here.

”Haha! No need to thank me! We’re all like family here!”

Xiaomei declared grandly while sipping her congee.

Qin Mu glanced at her, then chuckled helplessly. After finishing, she stood up, wiping her hands, and said, ”Chen Xiaomei, make me a coffee later, and the rest of you, clean up this mess!”

Before leaving, Qin Mu looked once more at the unfinished steamed buns, sighed, and went upstairs.

”She acts like she doesn’t like it but loves it to death!”

After Qin Mu left, Xiaomei shook her head and grumbled, making others chuckle as they hurriedly finished off the leftovers and cleaned up the area.

Qin Mu successfully submitted her designs this morning.

By ten, the rain was still pouring. Qin Mu thought, it seems this rain will last all day.

Xiaomei came into her office: ”Qinqin, where are we having lunch?”

”It’s raining outside, let’s just eat next door.”

Qin Mu turned her head and replied casually before turning back to gaze at the rain outside.

”That’s so boring, we’ve been planning to go to AM, after all, work doesn’t start until after two. Maybe there’ll be an unexpected surprise, you should come too!”

Xiaomei thought about seeing a woman looking for Mu Yichen yesterday and couldn’t help but want to drag Qin Mu along, thinking maybe they’d catch something surprising today.

Qin Mu glanced at her, thinking about the long distance...

”Are you planning to switch careers?”

Qin Mu asked.

”Uh, we’re just trying to kill some time!”

Xiaomei replied with some guilt.

”Alright! Bring back some fruit for me!”

Qin Mu didn’t argue further.

”Okay!”

Xiaomei dared not persuade her again, quickly taking off.

When Qin Mu turned back, Xiaomei was already gone. At noon, she ate at a nearby restaurant with a few colleagues who didn’t want to travel far.

——

Xi Meng was on an out-of-town business trip today. Mu Yichen and Qiao Yi were dining at a nearby restaurant. After eating for a while, Qiao Yi paused and looked at Mu Yichen: ”Have you told Qin Mu about last time?”

Mu Yichen looked up slightly, then said placidly, ”No.”

”Really not planning to tell her? She doesn’t ask you about it?”

Qiao Yi asked, puzzled about how they communicated as a couple.

”Nope.”

Later Qin Mu stopped asking, Mu Yichen thought she probably understood him, thus didn’t press him.

”Wow, I didn’t expect Qin Mu to be so easy to placate. Such a smart woman, yet she becomes foolish around you!”

Qiao Yi remarked while chuckling, not quite agreeing as he looked at Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen chuckled softly, ”She’s just being smart!”

”But if she knew that the incident with Wu Jiaojiao was manipulated by Wu Jiaojiao from behind, would she still think she’s smart?”

Qiao Yi asked, intrigued, watching Mu Yichen closely.

Mu Yichen paused briefly before looking at Qiao Yi, ”Let’s not bring it up in front of her. It’s settled, and she doesn’t need to waste time on it.”

Qiao Yi pondered and nodded; Mu Yichen’s words were as good as gold. Besides, there was no real benefit for Qin Mu in knowing; it would only cause needless worry.

However, he was surprised Mu Yichen hadn’t mentioned a word to Qin Mu, even about such a big issue. Although rumors faded after their return, it had still been quite the scandal.

Qin Mu impressed him again; most women would follow their men closely and insist on an explanation.

After lunch, the two returned to the office with umbrellas, and Mu Yichen received a call from Xi Meng. He learned there was a new assistant secretary starting officially tomorrow.

Mu Yichen didn’t think much of it; he didn’t like to bother with these matters as long as his secretary remained unchanged.

He just hadn’t expected that person to be that woman.

The next day, as Xi Meng came into work, she saw Zhang Hongyun at her assigned spot. As she approached, Zhang Hongyun stood up, ”Hello Secretary Xi, I’m the new hire, Zhang Hongyun.”

Xi Meng nodded, seeing that she seemed quite agile, and walked over to her desk while explaining the related tasks.

”Are you familiar with our group by now?”

Xi Meng asked.

”Yes, I’ve been learning and getting to know things under Sister Lei these past days.”

Zhang Hongyun nodded in response.

”That’s good. This morning, you won’t have much work. Just relax and handle what I’ve handed you.”

”Alright!”

As they were talking, the elevator doors opened, and Mu Yichen and Qiao Yi emerged, walking out one after another.

Mu Yichen paid no mind to the additional person, but Qiao Yi, while glancing at Xi Meng, also noted Zhang Hongyun, immediately furrowing his brows.

”Good morning, Mr. Mu!”

Seeing Mu Yichen, Zhang Hongyun perked up and simply greeted him intensely.
