His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1762: Chapter 493: Keep It Secret for Now

”The new assistant Zhang Hongyun, just graduated from university. Qin Assistant interested?”

Xi Meng lifted her eyes, watching her husband staring at Zhang Hongyun, and coldly asked.

Qiao Yi...

Mu Yichen, because of their interaction, lifted his eyes, and after seeing Zhang Hongyun, quietly retracted his gaze and went into the office first.

Qiao Yi went to Xi Meng’s side: ”Qin Special Assistant is only interested in Mrs. Qin!”

The couple had been at odds recently over having a second child, so Qiao Yi really didn’t dare stir up any trouble on other matters.

”Hmph!”

Xi Meng sneered, then told Zhang Hongyun, ”Qiao Yi, in the future, for anything, you ’cannot’ go to him!”

Xi Meng was dead serious, and when both Qiao Yi and Zhang Hongyun thought she would allow Zhang Hongyun to approach Qiao Yi if she needed something, she instead emphasized the ’cannot’ with a pause.

”I understand!”

Zhang Hongyun smiled.

Qiao Yi glanced at Zhang Hongyun again, also gave a profound smile, and whispered in Xi Meng’s ear: ”I’ll tell you more about this woman later!”

Xi Meng instinctively turned to look at Qiao Yi, and after seeing Qiao Yi’s eyes, she suddenly thought of something and unconsciously glanced at Zhang Hongyun again.

Qiao Yi went to Mu Yichen’s office, closed the door, and then asked, ”How did this woman end up in our group? And as Xi Meng’s assistant?”

Mu Yichen said nothing; the previous assistant had gone home for maternity leave, and since Qiao Yi also wanted a second child, he asked Mu Yichen to find another assistant for Xi Meng. Mu Yichen naturally agreed, but no one expected the new assistant they hired turned out to be the lady who had toasted Mu Yichen that day.

”No need to worry!”

Mu Yichen stood behind the large office desk, flipping through the files he hadn’t finished reading yesterday; his tall and upright figure carried an inherent calm and rationality, leaving people surprised.

”But, are you sure? Should we consider changing?”

Qiao Yi asked instinctively, worried about causing trouble for Mu Yichen.

”Even if we plan to replace her, we need a reason, don’t we?”

Mu Yichen lifted his eyes to glance at Qiao Yi, reminding him.

Qiao Yi thought about it, agreed; they couldn’t just let someone go without cause. If asked, they wouldn’t have a reason, which indeed didn’t fit the group’s guidelines.

”But I really didn’t expect her to be a recent graduate. To get this position, her qualifications must be quite good, right?”

Qiao Yi pondered as he slowly voiced his doubts.

Mu Yichen didn’t speak, but naturally, people able to come to the top floor are generally quite qualified.

However, the girl went to toast them that day; she should have already been hired by then, maybe just wanted to greet the boss in advance?

Though it didn’t quite seem like it.

Qiao Yi furrowed his brow, pondering that day’s encounter with Zhang Hongyun visiting Mu Yichen to greet him for quite a while, unable to fathom the reason.

However, he soon went downstairs and pulled up Zhang Hongyun’s resume.

They were not familiar with Zhang Hongyun’s hometown, that city, but her resume was very clear.

Qiao Yi, after reading her resume, couldn’t help but chuckle, thinking, no wonder she’s so confident; she indeed has some background.

Hopefully, she’s genuinely here to work and doesn’t give them a reason to catch her in a wrong step and let her go.

After reading, Qiao Yi left and then called Mu Yichen to relay Zhang Hongyun’s family background to him, of course, which he only learned after pulling her resume and investigating further through reliable contacts.

In the evening, Mu Yichen went to pick up Qin Mu from work. The rain had turned into a fine drizzle, so Qin Mu wore a hat instead of using an umbrella.

Mu Yichen opened the window and felt a cool breeze pour in, causing his brow to furrow instantly.

He got out of the car under an umbrella and looked at the woman standing on the steps, hands in her coat pockets, unmoved: ”Why aren’t you using an umbrella?”

”You didn’t like using an umbrella before either!”

Qin Mu didn’t explain but mentioned the old habits of Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen sighed lightly in resignation and wrapped his arm around her shoulder to get her into the car.

Once inside, Qin Mu took off her hat, played with it in her hands, and turned to the man seated next to her: ”Isn’t my new hat nice?”

Since it was blue, how could it not look nice?

Mu Yichen loved blue!

”It’s okay! But when it rains, you should use an umbrella, so don’t do this again next time!”

If you catch a cold, won’t it be me who has to accompany and look after you?

Mu Yichen reminded her with a look of disdain and displeasure.

Qin Mu nodded: ”Okay, I know!”
