His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 1768: Chapter 495: Abandonment?

But if Li Yu’s health meant he couldn’t be with Li Man, Li Man would still choose to ensure his health!

He has so many things to do, and she doesn’t want him to spend his days in a wheelchair, enduring silently for the rest of his life.

”As long as it’s something you like, I’m willing to let you do it! Even if it means having fun with other girls!”

Li Man crouched beside Li Yu’s bed, so stubborn, even with tears in her eyes, she insisted on saying such words.

Li Yu didn’t respond to her, just gave a faint smile.

Lately, Li Man couldn’t understand Li Yu’s eyes, didn’t know what he was thinking, as he wasn’t fond of talking to her much, and now...

”Mom and Dad are supposed to come by tonight, could you help me wash my hair first?”

Li Yu only asked her this one question.

It was then that Li Man put away her stubborn little emotions and stood up: ”I almost forgot they were coming!”

In fact, Li Man didn’t want the elders to visit at all, she hated the look in her mother’s eyes when she seemed to hold back her words, she knew what her mother was thinking, is it shameful for mother and daughter to marry father and son?

Even though Li Yu’s body wasn’t very strong, she didn’t care, she just wanted him to live well while he was alive.

What does it mean to grow old together? She didn’t know; she cared more about being able to hold the hand of someone she liked, wherever they could go, they shouldn’t miss it.

Li Man had never helped a man wash his hair before, Li Yu was the first!

But she liked it very much, or maybe because his hair was short, it was easy to wash clean, didn’t splash water or shampoo foam everywhere. Li Yu wanted to be clean and fresh to meet his parents and didn’t want them to worry too much.

Yet his father had a whole patch of hair turn white overnight, what father wouldn’t worry about their severely injured son?

Before it was even dark, the old couple made soup and brought it to the hospital, Li Yu was drinking it, and his father stood by and talked to him, while Li Man’s mother took her outside.

Li Man’s mother was adamant that Li Man should not serve Li Yu here, it had been unavoidable the past few days, but now Li Yu was awake, Li Man as a girl, serving a boy of similar age here, if it got out, Li Man would never find a good marriage, her mother thought, and pulled her to a corner on the stairs.

”Your dad and I have discussed getting your brother a reliable caregiver, do you think we should find a male or female? A male would be stronger, and since your brother is inconvenient, they could help with moving him; a female would be more caring and attentive. If you feel uneasy, we can find both, as we don’t lack money.”

Li Man’s mother didn’t make her leave, but instead said this.

”Why don’t you just tell me to leave the hospital?”

Li Man and her mother had become estranged since her mother disagreed with her being with Li Yu, Li Man knew what her mother was thinking, so she stubbornly confronted her.

”That’s precisely what I mean, you understand. Your brother has passed the critical stage, we’ve done our utmost, it’s time you returned to work!”

Li Man’s mother told her.

Li Man looked at her mother, at her attire, her proportions, seeing the wrinkles on her face, all testified to this elder’s grace, yet the words spoken by this seemingly graceful elder...

”What do you mean by doing your utmost? We are family, we should care for him from start to finish, has he truly escaped danger? He still doesn’t know if he can stand, the doctors say even surgery only has a one percent chance, are you telling me to abandon him here, let him endure alone? This is when he most needs family!”

Li Man couldn’t hold it in, and almost shouted.

”Your dad is also willing to stay with him, your dad here is more suitable than you, right? You two are siblings, but there’s no blood relation.”

Li Man’s mother added, the mother and daughter seemed moments away from a fierce argument.

”Mom, if you keep pushing me, I’ll jump down from this floor, you believe it or not?”

Li Man pointed to the side, tears threatening to spill, stubbornly threatening her mother.

Li Man’s mother paled with fear, incredulously looking at her good daughter.

”Manman, can’t you just listen to me once? Your brother really isn’t suited to be your husband!”

”Whether he’s suited or not, only I know in my heart. As long as I’m happy, it’s enough!”
