Chapter 1449: Chapter 130: Decisive Victory

Yes, the tide of victory.

The generals far away in Hanjing have seen it, and Long Zheng, who is only forty minutes away from the combat zone, has seen it too.

And naturally, the bandit army officers beside Fatty have the clearest understanding. Since the conflict began, using real warships and soldiers’ lives as simulation data, they have stood beside Fatty, witnessing the evolution of the battle firsthand.

Three minutes after the confrontation began, the Central Battle Group, with the cruiser [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] from the Phantom Second Fleet leading two sub-fleets, navigated horizontally between several engaged fleets under Fatty’s command, attempting to support the allied fleet on the other side of the combat zone. Yet ”unexpectedly,” the fleet exposed its flank to the newly turned Jiepeng [Cut-tailed Kite] Sub-fleet’s frontal gunfire.

Following Auben’s instructions to intersperse deeply into the combat zone for large-scale outflanking, the [Cut-tailed Kite] Sub-fleet decisively decelerated, with the tail formation accelerating to the wings to expand the formation and launch a full assault. They aimed to achieve the greatest results in the shortest time against the [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] fleet blocking their advance.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity turned every Jiepeng person’s eyes in the [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet bloodshot!

Immediately catching the flank of the Feiyang Fleet and crippling a Destroyer with a single salvo, reducing over ten Feiyang warships’ energy shields to a dangerously deep red, the [Cut-tailed Kite] Fleet Commander decided to expand the victories.

He instinctively adjusted the fleet’s marching speed and bow angle.

The fleet approached the [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] while charging their Energy Cannons. The time initially intended to pass through this empty region within two minutes extended to after the second salvo was completed.

The main gun charging time for the Jiepeng [Eagle]-class cruiser is three minutes and twenty-six seconds. This means the [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet needed an additional one minute and twenty-six seconds here.

One minute and twenty-six seconds, in a person’s lifetime, is just a fleeting instant—not enough to finish a cigarette or brew a cup of tea. For this cosmic space, for the eternal stars and planets of the distant Bull Tail system, and for this hour-long battle occurring here, it’s an insignificant instant.

One main gun charge takes over three minutes, an acceleration takes over two minutes, a collective turn takes over one minute... Who cares about one minute and twenty-six seconds?

Besides, the [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet aimed to intersperse deeply to occupy an outer attack position and seize opportunities. Abandoning the immediate opportunity for this goal—wouldn’t it miss the essentials?

Neither the [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet commander nor Auben, who issued the order, realized the danger born or knew how crucial this one minute and twenty-six seconds was to Fatty!

Since Margaret explained the main gun charging time of the Jiepeng [Eagle]-class cruiser, Fatty has been calculating one three minutes and twenty-six seconds after another. Each Jiepeng fleet’s salvo from the Central Battle Group, each attack by the left-wing Jiepeng [Lightning Falcon] Fleet, he remembered clearly. Even while communicating with Auben, he calculated the time in his heart.

Now, the opportunity is here!

The attacked [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] fleet quickly changed course, attempting to escape the flank-biting situation. However, how could the Jiepeng [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet let them off easily? The frenzied Jiepeng Sub-fleet Commander and his one-eyed General fell into a killing frenzy together.

However, as the [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet completed its main gun charging and prepared for its second salvo, the fleet commander suddenly realized that one of their sub-fleets unexpectedly cut in from the side!

It was a Jiepeng sub-fleet trying to escape the encirclement of three Feiyang sub-fleets, swiftly approaching, and his fleet lay right in their escape path!

Chain reactions, at this moment, like toppled dominos, began and couldn’t be stopped.

The [Cut-tailed Kite] fleet commander foolishly watched as their brother fleet passed beneath their fleet, got caught on the side by another Fei Alliance fleet that had already reached the attack position. Following that, another entangled Jiepeng fleet was forced to change course, falling under the crossing gunfire of Feiyang Fleet suddenly from both wings....

The third fleet, the fourth fleet.....

Just like a chain collision on a racing track, one after another speeding race cars brake, change lanes, collide, bounce off... No matter how they evade, no matter which direction the drivers spin the steering wheels in crisis, they can’t avoid fate’s mockery. The audience could only hear hit after hit of crashes. They could only see countless race cars doomed to destruction.

Everything started from this one minute and twenty-six seconds of the [Cut-tailed Kite] Sub-fleet. By the time this domino had gone one cycle, this one minute and twenty-six seconds had evolved into a dead-end game—the last Jiepeng fleet appeared in front of the Feiyang [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] fleet!

The Jiepeng [Cut-tailed Kite] Fleet completed their second salvo.

The desperately ordered fleet commander dreamed of restoring everything in the final phase. Like a film rewind, spilled water returning to the basin, shattered debris of destroyed warships reconstructs, the wrinkles on an old man’s forehead disperse, eyes become clear, bullets retreat from the body, blood drops contract, everything restored flawlessly!

However, the changes in the [Wide Striped Tiger Shark] fleet’s rhombus battle formation shattered this commander’s dreams.

The Feiyang Fleet’s front slowed, the warships with red energy shields on the leftwing slanted into the formation, while the tail formation accelerated to expand, forming a new flank.

Facing the more advanced Feiyang warships with their dim-blue energy shields, the effect of the Jiepeng people’s salvo was about the same as the first time.

Yet, after a cycle of fate, the Jiepeng Destroyer Fleet from the Central Battle Group suffered a loss of over forty-five percent. The remaining warships were also under pursuit, fragmented, fighting individually.

Auben stood blankly before the tactical computer. The bright text data and images on the computer screen rolled over his face, flickering from his chest to his neck, to his chin, nose, reflecting into a dazed pupil, ultimately fading into the thick short hair on his forehead.

Outside the window, the light from the explosion of a battleship expanded from the size of a basketball into a glaring white light, suddenly filling the entire row of portholes. The already battle-scarred ”Supreme Glory” was shaking violently. The damage assessment system of the central computer flashed frantically. On the battleship’s structural map, it was a swath of bright red, with alarms blaring constantly.

Two Feiyang Fighters flew past the window in formation. By this time, there was not a single Jiepeng Fighter left in space. The fighter group, resisting with less than ten percent of the enemy’s numbers, was finally exhausted after the destruction of four Space Carriers. The Feiyang Fighter groups returning for replenishment one after another almost leisurely wreaked havoc within the main battle formation of the Dragon Rider Fleet.

Coupled with the devastating salvo of the main cannons from the Feiyang Fleet’s battleship main formation, the Dragon Rider Fleet was now at a dead end.

And most importantly, until now, the four Jiepeng Destroyer and Cruiser Sub-fleets trying to charge directly at the Feiyang Fleet’s main formation had not been able to break through the obstruction of a single Feiyang Sub-fleet.

”Siriaduo,” a name from the ancient Earth work ”Divine Comedy” by Dante, was one of the prison guards of hell. It had longer tusks than the other guards and was extremely vicious. Whenever a sinner’s head broke the surface of the asphalt pool to accept punishment, this prison guard, nicknamed ”Tusk Pig,” would rush up and tear the sinner’s skin with its long tusks.

The Jiepeng people did not know the name of this warship, numbered 0309.

In their intelligence, the ”Siriaduo” cruiser retired after an irreversible accident two years into service, dismantled and scrapped, long gone. Little did they know, this warship that rose from the ashes of hell was right in front of them, battling against them.

Under Fatty’s command, the small-scale battle on the left flank was even more dazzling than the skirmish of the Destroyer and Cruiser Group in the Central Combat Zone. Siriaduo, this ferocious prison guard, with his companions tightly entangled the enemy. They spread out, fighting while retreating, their positions and cooperation constantly changing, making it hard for the Jiepeng Fleet eager to advance.

Nobody knew where this dispersed, high-speed-moving sub-fleet would appear the next second, nor did they know when they would launch a volley from different positions on the same warship.

They were too agile. Their speed was incredibly fast. Completely contrary to the rules of Destroyer and Cruiser combat. In front of them, Jiepeng’s high-speed warships were like clumsy oxen surrounded by a chaotic, sly pack of hyenas; when you rushed up, they quickly ran away, and when you turned around, they’d bite you on the ass.

This was not a situation created by the technological gap of the warships but entirely due to the command of the commanders.

The Siriaduo Sub-fleet skirmish had entered extreme speed from the outset. When a Jiepeng Warship needed to adjust its bow and reduce speed, they quickly drew an arc in the air, launching an Energy Cannon that accurately hit a colliding Jiepeng Warship, then disappeared.

If you were to plot their aerial flight paths with a pen, you’d see a dazzling, indecipherable tangle of lines. Yet, within this tangle, they could fire at just the right moment, evade appropriately, and cooperate perfectly!

They could not achieve victory but could buy time.

That was already enough.

Auben gave up command. In the vast Command Room, he was the only one left. He listened to the mechanical warnings from the central computer of ”Supreme Glory,” watching the opposing Command Room on the monitor screen.

There, it was already a scene of jubilation.

He saw those soldiers in blue and black uniforms jumping wildly, raising their arms in cheers. He also saw, on the giant communication screen of the opponent, familiar Fei Alliance Generals clapping in celebration.

The corners of his mouth showed a hint of a contemptuous smile. Several of those people were previously defeated by him!

His gaze finally rested on Fatty among the crowd.

In the opponent’s jubilation and his side’s melancholy, only he and the guy who defeated him exchanged a silent gaze.

The battleship trembled violently, explosions successive from the cabins, the Main Gun Room, the armory, the energy library, all the way to the bridge where the Command Room was.

With or without the Staff Department, the result would have been the same. If that guy didn’t cheat, then he was terrifying! In this battle, be it conspiracy, trap, or frontal slaughter, he lost thoroughly.

”However, I ultimately did not ask the Staff Department for help; dying like this might be more gratifying.” Auben mumbled to himself as he sat down, put on an eye mask, giving Fatty a smile amidst the final light.

He thought of Mikami Yuto.

That monkey-like short guy would find it really difficult to take the Southeast Star Domain!
