Chapter 1437: Chapter 123: Outbreak of War (Part 2)

However, if someone were to judge this fleet based on its external appearance, they would be gravely mistaken.

Contrary to its brutal and menacing image, delving into the interior of this fleet reveals a group of devotees who strictly adhere to discipline. They are restrained, adhere to rules, regard honor as life, and devoutly believe in various deities and the same Commander. Their brutal combat style forms a chillingly contradictory contrast with their tranquility.

At this moment, in front of the battleship’s prayer room, Jiepeng officers and soldiers waiting to pray had already lined up. The chaplain gently stroked the heads of the soldiers kneeling before them in the dimly lit prayer room. The soldiers’ rapid breathing gradually calmed down. When they stood and walked out of the prayer room, their eyes were filled only with fervor.

This was the Dragon Rider Fleet’s unique pre-battle prayer time. In every corner of every warship of the fleet, soldiers of different faiths either knelt or stood, softly murmuring prayers. The whole fleet showed none of the tension expected before a great battle. Only serenity... an eerie tranquility tinged with a scent of blood, like a blood pool settled for thousands of years.

Auben lifted his head from the tactical computer, patiently watching the praying Yamamoto in front of him. Only after Yamamoto finished his lengthy prayer did Auben smile slightly and say, ”Our prey has entered the obstacle zone. Tell the warriors that the dinner prayer has ended. Let them savor the feast. Once we bite into the throat, our prey will be defenseless!”

Yamamoto saw the hideous and terrifying single eye of Auben, a pathological flush rose on his face, and he stood upright with a fierce salute: ”Yes!”

He turned to walk toward the SkyNet control console. At the moment he turned, he saw through the imagery transmitted by the reconnaissance satellite that several Feiyang Reconnaissance Ships and the vanguard Guard Fleet had emerged from the cosmic dust that was as thick as clouds. The dust was churning, as if tens of thousands of antelopes were migrating before the predators’ eyes.

.......

The names on the screen scrolled repeatedly. This temporary command center personnel list had already been transmitted to the entire fleet. At the bottom of the list was written—

General Commander, Tian Xingjian!

The fleet was prepared. Although many officers and soldiers harbored doubts about this name, there was no time for explanations now. From spotting the enemy to completing combat preparations, there was only a short hour.

This was originally a mad action!

”Sir,” Carl shouted loudly: ”Enemy fleet moving! Spreading on the left and right wings... attack formation... Destroyer Group lead... Octopus Formation!”

The Command Room was filled with excited shouts. Fatty and Fei Ouwen beside him gave each other a hard high-five.

They guessed it right!

Behind Planet No.3, the enemy fleet was split into two parts, attacking their fleet with rear and waist strikes. Led by Destroyers and cruisers, their overall formation pressed, with Battleships conducting the first salvo from the L21 area airspace below. The Destroyer Group then formed two attack prongs, one directly penetrating the fleet’s flank, while the other encircled from the rear. After disrupting the fleet, they would split into four to eight sub-fleets for deep slaughter.

Because this formation in battle resembled an octopus grabbing prey with its tentacles, it was known as the Octopus Formation!

This was the optimal choice for this airspace behind Planet No.3 and was the formation the Dragon Rider Fleet was adept at!

To think, if not already knowing about the ambush, the Bandit Army Fleet preparing for a jump right as they left the obstacle zone would experience engine delay during launch activation when the enemy appeared. The first salvo from the enemy’s Battleship Main Formation would tear a bloody hole into the fleet. By the time the enemy’s two attack prongs entered from the center and rear, the fleet’s soldiers hadn’t even reached battle positions.

Facing a lateral attack, the fleet would be disrupted in the first wave. Without the cover and support of friendly ships, even the most advanced warships would have no chance against the high-speed, interspersed fire of the enemy fleet.

The center and rear would be slaughtered by enemy Destroyers and cruisers, with no escape for the front. No warship would have the chance to turn to face the enemy. They would be annihilated in the salvos from the enemy’s Battleship Main Formation. In merely fifteen minutes, the enemy carrier group, close by and shielded by the Battleship Main Formation, could complete concentrated releases of fighters. By the time the fighters joined the battle, it would mean the end of the Bandit Army Fleet.

But when all of this is foreseen........ the wheels of fate took a turn mid-course!

No, thought Fatty with a grin, it should be said the Goddess of Fate’s skirt was pulled down, revealing her round, plump little Pipi!

”Tian Xiaobao!” Fatty grabbed the communicator without hesitation and called Little Pi. This name was used before others, derived from Fatty’s mischievous nature as an unmarried young man becoming a father.

”Here!” Little Pi’s voice was crisp.

”Immediately calculate the enemy fleet’s space after jump termination!” Fatty gritted his teeth, almost unable to contain his excitement.

”Coordinates 422944.934234.34......”

A moment later, Little Pi had reported the enemy fleet’s jump termination position calculated by Little Thief No.2.

Doing such work, Pipi took less than three seconds. However, as a shockingly genius child, he hid in his personal calculations room for a few more minutes watching adult videos.

”Transmit the coordinates to all ships, set torpedo and missile coordinates,” Fatty punched his fist fiercely: ”Within five minutes, the carrier completes fighter deployment, we head out!”

”Yes!”

Amidst the officers’ resounding answers, the dusty obstacle zone and asteroid belt outside the ship’s porthole rolled like clouds with the warship’s advance.

Chuckna Hanjing Time, January 2, 2063, 8:03 am, the Bandit Army Fleet slowly emerged from the obstacle zone.

The fleet, spanning thousands of kilometers, compressed into a dense formation of less than five hundred kilometers.

Seemingly ignorant of what was soon to occur around them. One after another, the Bandit Army warships halted in the vacant airspace at the jump channel’s entrance after passing the obstacle zone.

Not a single warship had its bow faced toward the airspace of Planet No.3. Simply following rigorous fleet protocols, they slowly rearranged formation, moved forward and back, forming a spindle-shaped navigation array.

At 8:14 am, four Space Carriers and their escort fleet emerged from the obstacle zone.

At 8:16 am, the electronic ships and clear-out ships tasked with cleaning and detecting the jump channel launched. The fleet shut down its energy shields and activated jump engines.

At 8:18 am, seeing the blue firefly-like Fei Alliance Fleet energy shields all extinguished, Auben gave a final prayer and then ordered a strike.

At 8:19 am, the already thoroughly prepared Dragon Rider Fleet vanished into the void.

At 8:23 am, Fatty asked Pipi, and Pipi confirmed with certainty.

Simultaneously, Fatty ordered an attack.

At that moment, thousands of torpedoes and missiles surged out of the Bandit Army warships, racing toward the designated coordinates.
