Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1435: Chapter 122: Scheming

When the Chuckna 6th Fleet relayed the message back to the Fei Alliance Joint Command, the entire alliance knew the bandit army fleet was in trouble.

Most people were anxious and worried, while others were somewhat gloating.

This army’s behavior was too bold, too unrestrained. Led by their crude, immature Vice Admiral, they acted arrogantly and recklessly. If one were to list their misdeeds, it might take three days and nights to finish. The most infuriating part is that these guys still have such a dazzling halo above their heads.

In the Longbow Star System, these guys used some insidious tricks to eliminate the handsome Duke Hanfrey, bringing down the brightest genius of the Binart Empire from the clouds. And on Canglang Star, they saved the most beloved Old Marshal Li Cunxin of the Chuckna people. So much so that the Chuckna people now completely regard this army as their treasure.

Walking down the street, they receive more cheers than even the Chuckna people’s own army.

And Hastings’ unabashed favoritism makes people grind their teeth in hatred for this army, yet they cannot touch them. With the support of the Military God, not only did they receive the treatment of Special-level troops, but they even have the title of Fei Alliance Allies. Not to mention the Alliance Command Center, even the Alliance Commander cannot control this army.

Perhaps someone would want to use withholding supplies or non-cooperation as a way to reprimand this unruly army, but with Hastings around, such ideas can only remain as thoughts.

As for their General Tian, if one had to use a word to describe him, the word ”bastard” could not be more fitting.

This mechanic soldier who escaped twenty-odd times due to cowardice somehow struck it lucky and mixed his way into becoming a Vice Admiral commanding thousands. This rank, which many have worked a lifetime to achieve, now seems like a worthless hat casually donned on a Fatty who has received no formal military training, doesn’t know where the gate to the military academy is, and cannot boast solid military theory and command artistry.

Looking back at Fatty’s history, he seems to have a grudge against handsome men.

Reinhardt from the Gazalin Mythical Army, Stephen from the Royal Morton Family, Duke Hanfrey, and Leefer, whom he insulted in front of everyone at their first meeting.

Everyone believes that the ugly Fatty was driven by his dark jealousy, leading him to offend Leefer at their first meeting.

Well, now he’s met Auben, two ugly devils clash!

That one-eyed guy is no pushover. He will teach this pale, loud Fatty a hard lesson, making him cry bitterly and flee back to the Long March Star Domain.

Perhaps this Fatty might not return... Though such a thought might seem cynical to those in the same trench, on the battlefield, anything can happen, who knows?

The 6th Fleet has already issued him a warning in time, but it was his own insistence to pass through the Jump Point.

The bitter fruit, he can only taste it himself.

The only regret might be for the command center, needing to make new deployments on the front line. Reinforcements cannot be quickly deployed to Leifeng Star. But then again, the war has just begun, and it is far from over. Even if Resk is lost, the Western Alliance cannot win this war in a short time.

As for how many more will die... what a ridiculous question. Is there any war without deaths?

The entire alliance was momentarily shaken by this news. Discussions were widespread, with various perspectives filling the air. The previously gloomy atmosphere due to consecutive setbacks on different fronts was swept away in this exciting topic.

The Alliance Command Center, under Admiral McKinley’s convening, held an emergency meeting of the alliance’s senior generals.

Now, most of the work at the Alliance Command Center is focused on the Southeast war situation. This situation won’t change while the Military God Hastings is stationed in the Southeast, unless one day, the chief seat in the command center meeting room is not occupied by McKinley, but by Leefer.

The length of the meeting significantly exceeded that of a typical meeting.

No one knows what the generals from different countries were saying in the meeting. All that’s known is that when they walked out of the meeting room, everyone’s expression was unpleasant.

Including the usually calm Hastings and Li Cunxin.

Li Cunxin now deeply regrets rushing the bandit army into action: a fleet just arrived at Hanjing, a group of commanders unfamiliar with each other, such a combination facing the Jiepeng Dragon Rider Fleet led by the one-eyed python Auben unexpectedly, the outcome is almost predictable.

Now, he only hopes Fatty isn’t too reckless.

The 6th Fleet has already, while sending back the message, deployed an A-Class fleet along the route to support. However, with a time difference of six to seven hours, if the bandit army keeps moving, the chances of catching up are nearly zero. Rather than calling it support, it’s as if everyone is prepared to shelter the bandit army fleet in retreat after an attack.

No matter how bad the outcome, Fatty cannot die!

In his and Hastings’ plan, Fatty is the core. Even if they kill ten Aubens later, it won’t replace this precious Fatty!

Compared to Li Cunxin’s worries, Hastings is much more composed.

While he inevitably feels concerned for this untested team facing such an opponent, he also recalls Fatty’s increasingly mature command techniques and tactical thinking displayed during high-intensity simulations against him.

Consequently, another thought grows uncontrollably in his mind, spreading like wild grass. Eventually, even this Lord Military God, who has weathered decades of storms and stayed composed amidst chaos, feels somewhat bewildered.

If Fatty can discover the opponent in advance rather than crashing into them, if he fully showcases his level during simulations against Hastings... Auben might be the first sacrifice under this genius schemer’s knife.

With such a terrifying enemy serving as the bandit army’s coming-out sacrifice, the Fei Alliance, long shrouded in failure, would become utterly insane.

”Everyone shut up!”

Tony’s voice brought silence to the conference room.

The captains looked in surprise at Tony, who had ”seized power,” not understanding why their superior was siding with Fatty.

Tony said nothing and walked to stand behind Fatty, who was checking the interstellar map and devising the combat plan, thus expressing his stance through action. However, his gaze remained fixed on the screen showing the reconnaissance ship Little Thief No.2, just five hundred kilometers away.

Following Tony’s gaze, the officers rediscovered the fact that was overlooked due to Auben.

The reconnaissance ship, visible clearly even to the naked eye from the opposing side at that distance, had not been detected, which obviously held a mystery they did not comprehend.

Before they could figure out this issue, Fatty’s first-phase combat plan was already drafted.

”This is what we need to do at the beginning of the battle’s first phase,” Fatty’s fingers tapped continuously on the keyboard, as a combat plan flashed on the screen at lightning speed. At the same time, he spoke non-stop, ”Since we know their position and surprise attack method, it’s unjustifiable not to use it against them fiercely.”

Beside him, the captains who had just been passionately objecting were now gaping at the screen as if they’d seen a ghost.

Even though they knew that the opposing fleet attempting to ambush from behind Planet No.3 was an exploitable opportunity, coming up with such a vicious trick in such a short time made Fatty unbelievably inhuman!

Is he really from the Army?! God, when Auben’s fleet finishes transitioning, they will lose at least twenty percent of their battleships in the first wave of attacks!

”Next, it’s going to be a bit more challenging.” Fatty rubbed his chin and quickly started tapping away again. He wasn’t just devising the combat plan but was also simulating it on the computer simultaneously.

However, his scribbling doodle-like simulation was comprehensible to very few. If the combat plan wasn’t straightforward enough for even a child to understand, the captains present would have likely rebelled already.

”For the second phase, we actually have another opportunity to seize,” Fatty said, calculating the opponent’s moves, ”After suffering the first wave of attacks, they will obviously experience some confusion, and at this moment, our second wave attack can be launched from here...”

Fatty’s finger pointed to the obstructed area at the junction of the 5th and 6th Leg, a region ruled by an asteroid belt and cosmic dust, where the brilliance of the constant star barely made anything visible.

”Hmm, by this stage, we should have the advantage, right?” Fatty gritted his teeth, trying to come up with an even more vicious plan, but finally gave up in frustration and turned to the staff officers and captains behind him for help, ”Does anyone have a harsher idea?”

What answered him was the simultaneous shaking of hundreds of heads.

”Alright, let’s take a look at the third stage...” Fatty buried himself back into the tactical computer, ”Here’s what we’re going to do.”

This time, upon seeing Fatty’s plan, everyone went mad. Diana, who had been observing all along, couldn’t help questioning, ”Sir, you don’t think our enemies are blind, do you?”

Fatty frowned and pointed to the screen, ”Did they spot my reconnaissance ship five hundred kilometers away?”

Diana was stunned.

”Since joining the bandit army, the secrets of this unit are our shared secrets.” Fatty stood up and concluded his plan that drove everyone crazy, telling the bandit army’s communications officer, ”Have Little Thief No.3 direct the long-range viewer to Little Thief No.2’s location.”

The communications officer complied.

As the command was executed, moments later, the image from Little Thief No.3’s long-range viewer began to shift, with the coordinates above the lens changing accordingly.

When the camera zoomed in infinitely, and the coordinates were locked entirely on Little Thief No.2’s airspace.

The captains rubbed their eyes simultaneously.

There was nothing there!

Moments later, with Margaret’s explanation of the bandit army’s stealth technology, everyone’s eyes lit up. They looked at Fatty’s combat plan and felt their heartbeats quicken.

This was not a battle but a massacre!

The targets of the massacre were actually the One-Eyed Python Auben and his elite Dragon Rider Fleet.

A few hours later, when the shockwave from Auben’s fall spreads from this airspace throughout the entire human interstellar map, God, that will be insane!
