Chapter 1442: Chapter 127: Absolute Kill_2

Their gazes lingered mainly at the center of the battlefield. There, more than twenty sub-fleets from both sides were engaged in fierce combat. This chaotic melee was what decided the outcome of the battle!

Due to the central area of the fleet being too dense, the battleship main formations on both ends had ceased their mutual volleys. Now they simply cruised swiftly along the periphery, occasionally providing fire support to the central battle group when assured there wouldn’t be friendly fire. Consequently, the opposing destroyer and cruiser groups, forced into the middle, fought even more fiercely and tightly.

”The Lightning Falcon cruiser is the 120th ship of the Eagle-class high-speed cruisers, which entered service in Jiepeng in 2062.”

On the command platform, Margaret leaned against the railing of the command seat, providing Fatty with urgent remedial space navy knowledge: ”This type of cruiser has a maximum non-transitional speed of Level 9. The main gun is a Luns Energy Cannon, with a caliber of 1600 mm and a slow charging time of three minutes and twenty-six seconds. The secondary guns are four, with a caliber of 600 mm, firing two shots per minute. The ship has strong attack power, fast speed, but weak defense...”

The busy staff exchanged a glance—an army vice admiral and a space navy general known for his strangulation tactics, who would be the victor of this battle?

No one knew.

Even having witnessed Fatty’s abilities and with Margaret’s strong support, everyone still felt uncertain in their hearts.

It’s important to know that this is not a game that can be overturned and restarted, but a war where blood flows every second. A single mistake could doom an entire fleet.

However, many of the staff were contemplating an amusing question. If Auben knew he was beaten by someone who didn’t even know the parameters of an Eagle-class cruiser, with the weakest missiles and torpedoes in space combat knocking out nearly half of his destroyers and cruisers... would he have a cerebral hemorrhage?

Amid Margaret’s explanation, Fatty glanced at the time on the screen as Siriaduo Sub-fleet’s volleys flashed, then lowered his head and continued operating the tactical computer.

--------------------------------------------------

Time ticked by, minute by minute.

As the battle continued, the officers of the Phantom Fleet felt increasingly weighed down.

The situation was starting to look unfavorable.

Thirty minutes ago, two Jiepeng sub-fleets suddenly regrouped in formation after a cross attack, forcefully breaking through the blockade of a bandit army sub-fleet, appearing on the flank of another bandit army sub-fleet engaged in a skirmish. This attack resulted in the destruction of six Feiyang battleships. The attacked sub-fleet narrowly escaped total annihilation thanks to the desperate support of nearby fleets.

Twenty-two minutes ago, a bandit army sub-fleet executing a diagonal insertion attempted to bite the tail of a laterally moving Jiepeng sub-fleet, only to be attacked from the rear flank by another Jiepeng sub-fleet that appeared out of nowhere. This time, unlike the previous fleet that had luck, after an attack wave, only two cruisers and four destroyers escaped with damage.

Seven minutes ago, in the D20 airspace, after a series of entanglements, combat suddenly erupted between five Jiepeng fleets and three bandit army fleets. With Auben’s suddenly formed force advantage, a damage ratio of twelve to seven was achieved within a few minutes.

The entire command room seemed shrouded by a Black Cloud, causing oppressive anxiety.

Although the staff continued to work methodically, the glances they occasionally cast towards the command platform were filled with anxiety. The solemn expressions on the faces of the senior officers on the command platform intensified the spread of negative emotions.

The unfavorable situation was apparent to everyone.

After all, Auben was a renowned air combat general, and his command was smooth. The coordination between the Jiepeng Task Force was likened to seamless perfection, with each part closely linked to the next, creating a feeling of being tightly entangled. The current bandit army fleet was bound hand and foot, seeming always a step too slow.

Although the Phantom Fleet hadn’t suffered significant losses during the half-hour strangulation battle, it should be noted that this fleet represented Feiyang’s most elite forces. Not to mention a damage ratio higher than the Jiepeng Fleet; even a one-for-one exchange would be a failure.

Clearly, this wasn’t an issue of fleet combat capability. The unfamiliar command layer, lacking trust and understanding between levels, had been rapidly matured under Auben’s powerful command and had bent the branches.

Among everyone, possibly the most dissatisfied and anxious were the senior staff of the Phantom Corps.

They were supposed to be the busiest people during warfare. But now, they could only sit dumbly in their positions, staring blankly at the computer in front of them.

Intelligence analysis, battle plan formulation, simulation, advising the Commander... none of this was related to them.

Although in Fatty’s arrangement, each of them was responsible for coordinating one or two ships, in battles that revolved around sub-fleets, there wasn’t much for them to do. They couldn’t possibly steal the sub-fleet commanders’ job by ordering the ships they were responsible for, causing a potentially fatal chaos?

”Are we going to keep fighting this way?”

”This kind of battle should be commanded by Chief Tony!”

”I think we’re already being led by the Jiepeng people. The Chief probably knows this too. But now, perhaps no one can help; Chief Tony isn’t skilled in this strangulation.”
