Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1439: Chapter 125: Head-On

”Oh my God!” A staff officer on the Feiyang Cruiser stared blankly out the porthole.

The violent scene in the universe was overwhelmingly visually impactful. One Western Alliance battleship after another emerged from the void, being crushed to pieces before the overwhelming torpedo and missile barrages. Countless wreckage scattered in all directions.

On the massive hull of the steel giants, fireballs burst forth one after another, like blood-red fleeting flowers blooming and fading.

So dazzling!

”God isn’t here...” The Deputy Captain, pacing like a lion in front of the SkyNet Control Console, suddenly kicked the daydreaming staff officer in the butt, ”Stop staring, it’s our turn, let’s go!”

”Left rudder fifteen hundred degrees, full speed.” The Main Control Pilot loudly repeated the ship captain’s command.

”Starting electronic interference...” The Electronic Soldier frantically flipped the many switches on the console, his hands moving so fast that they left behind only afterimages.

”Main cannon charging at eighty percent... eighty-five...” The gunner in the Main Gun Room stared intently at the charge gauge, his heavy breath resembling a bull waiting for the gate to open.

”Thrusters full open...” The Supervisor in the Power Cabin was almost jumping in place, yelling orders, as his soldiers hurriedly followed his commands.

”Quick, quick, quick...” The ship captains’ frantic shouts echoed, and each warship was like a pot about to boil over.

The officers and soldiers, trembling with excitement, ran and yelled quickly. The sound of keyboards being hammered was like a storm pounding a lotus pond. Gun turrets spun rapidly, radars locked targets, and the steel hulls of the warships turned. The massive fleet, like a flock of migratory birds skimming over the water with flapping wings, prepared to soar into the sky.

”Attack!”

”We’re going, we’re going!”

”Follow along!”

Blue energy shields, like city lights at night, lit up one by one. In this beautiful glow, the massive Bandit Army Fleet began to move.

The spindle-shaped fleet travel formations changed rapidly as if an untangled ball of yarn.

The High-speed Destroyers took the lead, these small warships acted like unleashed hunting dogs, charging wildly, sweeping towards the enemy fleet with lightning speed. Behind them was the Cruiser Group, these slightly larger warships resembled horse cavalry encircling the flanks on ancient battlefields, galloping amidst yellow sands, arrows raining down.

When the main cannon’s charge completed, the four-pronged Destroyer and Cruiser Group ships erupted in radiant light simultaneously.

Countless flowing lights darted across the black void straight into the enemy fleet. Moments later, it was as though gasoline had been poured, and amidst the explosive fireballs of the trapped Western Alliance Destroyer and Cruiser Group, several blinding white lights erupted again. This white light was so intense, the entire universe was illuminated at that moment.

The flagship command hall, tense and boiling.

Fatty stood on the command seat, eyes gleaming, issuing orders: ”1st Destroyer Group, left flank maneuver; 2nd Destroyer Group, assault L21 area, attack the enemy fleet’s Battleship Main Formation.”

”1st Destroyer Group understood.”

”2nd Destroyer Group understood.”

The responses from the two Fleet Coordinators were almost simultaneous and filled with excitement.

”Initiate full electronic attack,” Fatty continued to mobilize the tactical computer map, watching the dense streams of intelligence and data roll over, he issued commands: ”Main formation fire in unison, coordinate location 45223.74225.39280.7... follow flagship’s circular motion, auto-adjust firing parameters...”

With each command he issued, the officer replied loudly. For a moment, the entire command hall was filled with the energetic responses of ”Yes.”

No one questioned his orders anymore, everyone’s blood was ignited in the fireworks of distant starlights.

That was Auben!

A tactical master known as the One-eyed Python, an air battle expert!

But when his fleet emerged from the darkness, they encountered thousands of missiles and torpedoes... an incredibly precise head-on strike!

What could be more maddening than this?!

”Enemy fleet loss report!” Fatty shouted.

”Middle cluster lost thirty-five percent, rear cluster lost forty-one percent, Battle Formation Cluster lost three point six percent...” Tony reported loudly.

With Tony’s data report, even at the busiest moment, an uncontrollable cheer erupted in the command room.

The staff officers clapped and celebrated amidst their busy duties. The first wave of attacks was not yet over, and two-fifths of the enemy’s Destroyer and Cruiser Group had already been wiped out. Such a start was almost perfect!

However, Fatty was clearly not satisfied with the data.

Tony noticed that upon hearing the enemy ship losses, Fatty visibly frowned.

”Commander, our torpedo and missile clusters just completed their third wave of attacks, with two more to follow...” Tony couldn’t help but remind.

By this time, Tony had completely abandoned all suspicion of Fatty. From Fatty’s astonishing ability to read intelligence and deduce plans, to the genius war strategy that was beyond belief, and now to the fierce explosions outside the window... everything simply proved how accurate Hastings’ judgment was!

The battle had already begun, with no way back. All that could be done now was to follow this Fatty before us to witness a miracle.

Tony had no doubt about the possibility of this miracle.

”The next two waves can’t cause significant damage...” Fatty, who had been staring intently at the tactical computer, unexpectedly shook his head and said.

”Why?” Tony and the senior generals surrounding Fatty were all simultaneously shocked.

”Pull apart the distance, with the [Audom] cruiser leading the left wing, turn six hundred degrees to the left, and with the [Tennessee] leading the right wing, turn eight hundred degrees to the right,” Auben’s roar was extremely cold: ”[Bordeaux], [Caesar], [Derby County], [Wada], [Yamada]... push forward!”

Following Auben’s commands sent via the tactical computer, more than a dozen named warships suddenly swerved in the air, some forward, some back, some up, some down, stopping behind the blazing fireballs.

In front of these warships, the heavily battered ships were struggling in hell, countless missiles with light trails and smoke tails darted into the explosive flames. Some collided and exploded with the ships or wreckage in front, while others slipped through the gaps, hitting these ships that had just turned sideways.

Behind, hundreds of warships had already begun their difficult turn.

Although the formation was crowded and movements were slow, these warships, shielded behind the wall formed by the front-line ships, finally had a breather.

In a sacrificial move, the loss of over a dozen ships isolated the spread and expansion of the missile and torpedo attack range.

Auben bit down hard. He never dreamed that his sneak attack would completely fall into the enemy’s trap.

Everything was an illusion.

When this Fei Alliance Fleet appeared before him, shutting down their energy shields and engines in preparation for transition, they had already prepared thousands of missiles and torpedoes, waiting for his fleet’s transition.

Although he couldn’t figure out how the enemy discovered his fleet and accurately calculated the transition space coordinates and timing, these no longer mattered to Auben.

What’s important was that although the Dragon Rider Fleet suffered heavy losses, the fleet had not lost its combat capability.

Auben had already calculated from experience the destructive minimum of the enemy’s five missile waves. The final wave would arrive in four minutes, and the ships at the front could withstand the fourth wave. When the final wave arrived, the expanding fleet on both wings would be just about out of the enemy’s attack range and ready to release enough decoy missiles.

With the loss of over a dozen ships, preserving more of the effective force, Auben made the decision without a second thought.

At the same time, he also saw the immaturity in the opponent’s commander amidst his genius brilliance.

If when setting coordinates for missiles and torpedoes, the penetration was stronger, the attack waves more concentrated, and if torpedoes targeted the surrounding space rather than being greedy, then he could have totally eliminated the combat capability of the Dragon Rider Fleet’s Destroyer and Cruiser Group in the first wave.

Unfortunately, he missed the best opportunity.

Although in every aspect of the current battlefield situation, this unnumbered Fei Alliance Fleet held the advantage, do not forget, the Dragon Rider Fleet’s forces were 1.5 times theirs. Now they were just slightly less than them.

This was the Dragon Rider Fleet, seasoned and fearless in battle.

Within this fleet, besides the Jiepeng officers and men that unhesitatingly moved up to face the missiles and torpedoes upon command, there were also six intact Space Carriers and battleship clusters!

Since stealth attacks weren’t possible, he would defeat this unnamed commander head-on.

It wouldn’t take long for him to understand, amidst the slowly shifting overall situation and the dragon-rider-like strangulation of the Dragon Rider Fleet, no matter how brilliant his strategic and tactical abilities were, he should never have provoked the One-eyed Python Auben.

This name wasn’t earned by sneak attacks!

In the command room of the [Supreme Glory], hundreds of Dragon Rider Fleet staff conducted classification, analysis, and processing of intelligence and data as if operating an extremely high-speed machine. On the upper four floors, every tactical discussion room was open. Countless real-time combat plans and simulations were continuously transmitted to the senior staff department led by the chief of staff, then relayed to Auben’s tactical computer.

As calm as a rock, Auben looked at the tactical computer, a grim smirk appearing at the corner of his mouth.

The Dragon Rider Fleet had already evaded the danger and was retreating. Meanwhile, the Fei Alliance Fleet had thrust too aggressively. Between their two sub-fleets located at sector D13 on the left flank, was a beautiful gap.
