Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1427: Chapter 117: Unexpected Encounter

Tian Xingjian stood by the floor-to-ceiling porthole on the second floor of the command hall.

Outside the window, one battleship after another stretched out into the distance. The starlight from afar cast a flowing brilliance upon the steel fleet that extended for thousands of kilometers.

The bow of every battleship pointed in the same direction. Bright lights shone through the portholes of each ship.

Menacing turrets, flat bridges, and thick armor shifted between light and shadow in the starlight. As the fleet sailed at high speed, the ships were sometimes obscured by celestial shadows and sometimes bathed in starlight, resembling flying fish gliding across a shimmering sea.

Ships farther away were already out of sight, visible only by the long trails of blue ion glow from their thrusters, dragging through the void. There was no wind or speed like on land, only a dizzying and mesmerizing silent eternity.

This is the power in my hands! Wherever my fingers point, these steel giants will charge unwaveringly ahead! With firepower, a future of three hundred years of peace will be forged for this indomitable nation of Leray!

The final challenge is finally before me!

The two warmongering countries, Suss and Jiepeng, have brought forth their final forces. If they can be defeated, the Southeast War Situation will end at Resk!

When these two countries are defeated, it will be the day of rebirth for Leray!

But, Flavio, can you hold on until then? Or will Leray ultimately have to be reborn in the fierce fires of the Atlantis Star Domain?

Old man, you have to hang in there!

”Port 1200 degrees, half speed ahead.”

”All ships, close in, maintain a distance of four kilometers.”

Behind, the coordinator’s orders were heard. As the command was given, the fleet began to slow down and change direction.

A Chuckna electronic ship appeared not far from the flagship. It was the lead ship of the Chuckna 6th Fleet stationed at the Resk Jump Point. In half an hour, the fleet, led by this guide ship, would pass through the defense zone of the 6th Fleet and jump through the Resk Jump Point, truly entering the most heroic war of this Southeast Star Domain!

Fatty took a deep breath. Perhaps even now, many people do not know what the two armored divisions in his hands will bring to this world.

In the coming weeks, then, let everyone open their eyes and see clearly! See myself, see the bandit army, how they will lift the skirt of the Goddess of Victory, pull off that tiny lace panty, exposing the white and round buttocks...

As he was lost in thought with his eyes wandering, Margaret, who was passing by, stopped and softly asked, ”What are you looking at?”

”Counting,” Fatty blurted out.

”Counting?” Margaret looked out the window: ”Counting what?”

”Counting your dowry,” Fatty’s mouth stretched towards his ears, widening further, ”Three aircraft carriers, sixty battleships, one hundred and twenty cruisers, two hundred and forty destroyers... they’re all mine!”

”You,” Margaret glanced out the window, her heart sweetly warmed, turned around and gave Fatty a look before walking towards the SkyNet control console in her high heels.

”Idiot...” Diana, who had been eavesdropping on the side, muttered scornfully. Little did she know, Fatty’s greatest enjoyment had previously been counting his adult magazines and inflatable dolls at home. Counting warships was quite an improvement.

Beside her, Tony gave her a fierce glare, while Isaac, pale-faced, continued to gaze longingly at the busy Margaret in the command hall.

That graceful and enchanting figure was working tensely in front of the central control console. Dozens of staff officers took turns surrounding her. Just as one carried out orders and left, another approached briskly with documents.

The future clan leader of the Hastings family had become Fatty’s subordinate, diligently handling various complex matters for him while he daydreamed out the window.

”Tony, how did the old man manage to get these warships?” Fatty finally gave up trying to count the warships accurately and turned to ask.

Tony’s temples throbbed violently, and with a cough he replied, ”Retired.”

”Retired?!” Fatty was taken aback, then righteously indignant. He already knew that the upright old man wasn’t a good bird, but he didn’t expect him to be this shameless. Being able to retire these brand new warships and form his own fleet without spending a penny, Hastings, truly fits his name!

Dammit, Master Fatty is still too naïve!

”Fatty, we have a problem.” Margaret, who had just left, quickly returned to Fatty’s side. Beside her, anxiously running over, was Ann Lei, the intelligence liaison officer.

The faces of both girls were filled with undisguised anxiety.

”Oh?” Fatty turned his head. The command hall before him was brightly lit. Not far away, Fei Ouwen, Chel, Blatt, and other officers and fleet staff were solemnly discussing something.

”This is intelligence from the Chuckna Fleet,” Margaret handed Fatty a folder, ”A Western Alliance Fleet has appeared on our course.”

Fatty was startled, quickly opened the folder, glanced at it, then strode towards the Central Command Platform.

”Can we avoid it?” Fatty walked into the crowd and asked in front of the interstellar map.

”We can’t avoid it...” Fei Ouwen saw Fatty approaching, quickly stepped forward, pointed at the interstellar map and said swiftly, ”This is the tail end of the Cigar Nebula and it’s the only route to Leifeng Star. Now...”

Fei Ouwen drew a circle on the interstellar map with an electronic pen and continued, ”The Western Alliance Fleet has already blockaded this area.”

”What’s the exact number of enemy fleets?” Fatty’s heart sank.

”Six A-grade fleets! Twice our number.” Chel, off to the side, said, ”The Chuckna 6th Fleet also just received a warning to strictly guard the Jump Point. Suggest we wait until the battle situation becomes clear before proceeding. Admiral Qian Bolin’s fleet is on its way here.”

”Clear battle situation?” Fatty gritted his teeth and said, ”If it drags on for a month, I’d rather go home and sleep!”

Looking at the exasperated Fatty, the officers were all worried.

In space battles, fighting for a month is not impossible. Fleets vying for control over the channels don’t just clash in a straightforward gunfight. Both sides maneuver to find battle opportunities, appearing and disappearing at warp channels and obstacle zones, aiming for a deadly strike.

It’s like submarines in ancient wars, spending most of the time in silent stealth, with the real battle maybe just a torpedo upon encounter!

This is a group of Frenzied Sharks, spinning endlessly around the blood-scented sea area. And the Bandit Army Fleet must silently pass through the area these Frenzied Sharks roam to avoid being detected, which is practically an impossible task!

However, the Bandit Army also doesn’t have the time to wait!

The frontline situation on Leifeng Star is already extremely severe. Any mistake, and the western line of defense at Phoenix City will collapse. By that time, no matter how strong the Bandit Army is, they’ll only struggle in a situation ten times worse than now.

”What’s the opinion of the Staff Department?” Fatty asked, looking around.

”The first plan is to detour through Canglang Star, diagonally cutting through the Belgar Corridor,” Fei Ouwen pointed at the interstellar map and said, ”The second plan is to proceed along the original route, and if discovered, force a breakthrough.”

”We don’t have time to detour,” Fatty stared at the interstellar map, quickly vetoing the first plan, and said in a deep voice, ”Execute the second plan, if the opponent only has six A-grade fleets, they can’t stop us!”

”I don’t think that’s a good idea,” a voice coldly replied.

It was Isaac speaking. Seeing Fatty look at him, the division commander of the 3rd Armored Division of the newly joined Phantom Corps folded his arms and slightly raised his chin.

Fatty bared his teeth. Since yesterday, he’d noticed that Isaac and that woman named Diana had an unfriendly attitude toward him.

At first, he just thought it was a common problem with these Feiyang people.

Fiscella, Carolina, Leefer, Barbara... he had come across quite a few brain-sick Feiyang people. These folks seemed like spoiled children, always believing the universe revolves around them, looking at everyone with disdain, arrogantly raising their heads, wanting to flaunt their nose hairs to the world.

But after boarding the ship and setting off, Fatty discovered that Isaac was different from the others.

His attitude stemmed from one reason alone: the nearly feverish gaze he directed at Margaret.

”Isaac!” Margaret sternly said.

”I’m stating facts,” Isaac’s complexion changed, and he avoided looking at Margaret, instead glaring at Fatty, ”Admiral, the enemy’s forces are twice ours. Though it’s nothing to worry about us, no one knows if there are other fleets behind them. Proceeding recklessly, in case of unexpected events... it could jeopardize the entire Resk Battle.”

”The decision is made, inform the 6th Fleet, we’ll jump immediately. After the jump, deploy reconnaissance ships to broaden the scope,” Fatty said without even looking at Isaac, turning to leave.

”Yes!” The Bandit Army officers saluted and dispersed.

Isaac, ignored, turned ghostly pale. He couldn’t believe Fatty had humiliated him in such a manner.

Impetuous and indignant, Isaac was about to catch up, but Tony grabbed him.

”Little Poison,” Tony reprimanded softly.

Isaac turned his head to see Margaret glaring at him coldly.

”His decision was too rushed. We can completely wait or take the first option,” Isaac argued, his eyes dodging.

”Little Poison did no wrong,” Diana, standing beside Isaac, sneered at Tony, ”If five armored divisions are lost due to a foolish decision, it’s irreparable for the entire battle! Besides, isn’t it our fleet risking life because of his boldness?”

”You can wait, you can detour, because you haven’t integrated into this army, nor do you know his abilities,” Margaret said coldly, ”Remember your identities, from now on, shut up and watch from the sidelines!”

Saying this, she turned and left, not giving Isaac or Diana another glance.

Isaac ground his teeth tightly, while Diana muttered under her breath, ”Ability? In commanding space battles, can an army be better than Tony?”
