Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1440: Chapter 126: Whose Specialty

In the starry sky, a dozen Jiepeng warships slowly moved across, forming a steel wall.

The missiles and torpedoes that arrived one after another, after piercing through countless debris and fireballs ahead, shot towards the black hulls of these warships, causing them to continuously roll and tremble.....

The bursts of explosions illuminated the Command Room of the flagship, and the pupils of everyone flickered between light and dark.

Seeing this scene, without Fatty having to explain anything, everyone understood that the last two waves of attacks were unlikely to pose any more threats to the Jiepeng Fleet. For a moment, the officers and staff felt a heavy sinking in their hearts.

A warrior cuts off a wrist.... The Dragon Rider Fleet adopted the simplest and most effective method.

These dozen voluntarily sacrificed warships bought two or three minutes for the fleet behind them. The missile and torpedo clusters were unable to conduct penetrating depth strikes. The spreading explosion was contained in front of this steel wall. And behind, hundreds of Jiepeng warships were turning to evade.

The name Auben once again sent chills through everyone’s heart.

Although Auben suffered a major loss in the first engagement, in just a few minutes, this tactical master had reminded his opponents of his reputation. The ability to defuse this deadly attack so effortlessly in an instant is a testament to his profound command skills, decisive judgment, ruthless style, and calm mind.

More importantly, under his command is a group of desperados who can unhesitatingly use their bodies to block missiles and torpedoes, fearless of death!

The battle has just begun!

——————————

The electronic sand table in the center of the Command Hall resembled a miniature universe three meters high.

The Constant Star, planets, satellites, asteroid belt, and distant nebulae of the Bull Tail system were like being shrunk a thousandfold, floating within the sand table’s light screen. The red and blue fleets intertwined in this miniature space.

Due to having a clear advantage in electronic warfare, the information fed back by SkyNet reflects every change on the battlefield with meticulous detail on the sand table.

From the position and coordinates of the fleet to the energy diffusion of a missile hitting its target, or the trajectory of a piece of debris captured by a released reconnaissance satellite, everything was crystal clear.

When the fifth wave of missiles and torpedo clusters, as expected, passed through the already fragmented blocking warship wall but headed towards the empty distant void, a commotion erupted around the electronic sand table surrounded by dozens of staff, with one turning back urgently reporting: ”Sir, the enemy fleet launched a counterattack, a detachment from the central Destroyer and Cruiser mixed formation is penetrating toward the junction of our [White Fin Shark] Sub-fleet and [Siriaduo] Sub-fleet.”

The generals on the command platform quickly turned their gazes towards the computer screens at the command seat.

After just one glance, Fei Ouwen and others’ faces sank again.

”Auben’s counterattack is so swift!”

The situation is like a chess game. The Jiepeng Fleet originally intended to attack the center and rear of the Bandit Army Fleet through warp jumps. However, when the two arrows, three thousand kilometers apart, encountered the Bandit Army’s premeditated missile and torpedo attacks immediately upon finishing the warp jump, they were evidently unable to advance further.

Auben’s timely shield wall tactic saved the warships behind the two attack arrows. As these warships avoided on both flanks, their formations naturally underwent changes.

From the interstellar sand table, it can be seen that part of the Jiepeng left-wing fleet moved towards the right-wing fleet’s left, forming a new attack group, while the outer wing portions of the two attack arrows became two relatively small attack arrows.

This time, it was clear that Auben did not intend to let these three arrows execute the previous cutting waist and intercepting tail tactic. The three attack groups swiftly arched into attack positions, continuously splitting small units to intercept the Bandit Army’s Destroyer and Cruiser Fleet coming straight in.

No surprising tactic, just strong control!

The recent deadly hit seemed to have no impact on Auben. His fleet quickly completed evasion and then immediately counterattacked, smoothly facing the Bandit Army Fleet in a flowing manner. To the now wrecked comrades beside them, they didn’t even spare a glance. Their discipline, calmness, and adaptation speed were astonishing.

Meanwhile, the Bandit Army Fleet divided into four arrows, advancing towards the Jiepeng Fleet.

Due to the Jiepeng Fleet’s warp space being very close to the Bandit Army Fleet, when the Bandit Army Fleet started their engines to full power, the two sides quickly closed the distance within just a few minutes. They were now close at hand!

Fierce firepower crisscrossed as the two fleets moved at high speed. Both were circling frantically in arc movements. It’s like seven intertwined dragons, each trying to bite the other’s waist, locked in a relentless struggle.

In this skirmish, a Jiepeng Sub-fleet suddenly burst out from the central group, piercing into the junction of two right-wing Bandit Army Sub-fleets.

”The [White Fin Shark] detachment pounced too hard.”

Tony’s hand moved from the direction of a left-flank cruiser detachment and another detachment behind it towards the right front, with the SkyNet system automatically marking a rapidly advancing Jiepeng fleet on the screen based on intelligence, he quickly said: ”The [Siriaduo] detachment behind them is too far, Auben wants to slice them apart.”

”This is the strangling tactic,” Chel said solemnly. ”Auben’s favorite way of confronting his opponents directly. When we were in the Bermuda Star Domain, we suffered at his hands. Back then, Brown was entangled by him, and it became a chaotic battle for half an hour. Before we knew it, he strangled eleven percent of our battleships. If it weren’t for the Bermuda Local Fleet arriving in time, Brown would have been unable to break free.”

Recalling the past, Fei Ouwen nodded and said to Fatty, ”You were in Gazalin then. I heard from Brown that it was the most dangerous battle of his life.”

”Afterward, we analyzed it.” Chel walked to the screen, his eyes intensely focused on the chaotic battlefield, and continued, ”Auben’s style is especially adept at winning in chaos. During battle, he continuously splits and combines his fleet, striving to enter a strangling state. When the warships from both sides are entangled together as units, he uses his formidable command skills, with rapid tactical changes, to swallow the enemy one bite at a time in the strangling. Few can keep up with his pace.”

As he spoke, the battleship suddenly shook.

A sudden broadside from Auben’s fleet fired an Energy Cannon, which coincidentally passed through the gap in the Bandit Army’s battleship cluster and hit the carrier. Everyone staggered.

”Damn it,” feeling threatened, Fatty jumped in anger, ”this guy is playing for keeps!”

The generals, having stabilized themselves, remained speechless. This commander probably has never been serious in his life. Even if he becomes Marshal someday, after ambushing the opponent and wiping out over forty percent of their destroyer and cruiser group, he would still be deeply resentful of others’ attacks.

He can hit others, but refuses to be glared at.

The bandit army is full of this attitude now!

”Auben’s fleet is deploying their fighters, and their main formation is moving forward,” Margaret calmly smiled at Fatty and said, ”Shouldn’t the fighter group we’ve ambushed be engaged in battle now?”

”It’s still too early,” Fatty gestured dismissively, ”Order the ’Whitefin Shark’ unit to accelerate, forget about what’s behind...”

As he spoke, Fatty quickly plotted a course on the tactical computer and transmitted it to the Fleet Coordinator. He commanded, ”Let the ’Whitefin Shark’ unit attack along this line, and bite the enemy’s left flank. The ’Siriaduo’ unit should turn right 1200 degrees and meet them. That one-eyed mud eel wants a chaos battle, so let’s accompany him for a good fight!”

Fatty’s fingers flew across the tactical computer. As complex attack lines were generated one after another, the commands were transmitted to the flagship, SkyNet. The entire fleet began a series of tactical changes, and the situation became even more chaotic.

The generals nearby exchanged looks.

They had just reminded Fatty that Auben was most adept at this style of combat, yet the more they watched his actions, the more it seemed he was preparing to leap off a cliff? Eyes glowing, he was exceedingly excited.

Tony stepped forward, just about to say something when he was lightly pulled back by Margaret.

”Worried?” Margaret’s lips curled slightly.

Tony opened his mouth, unsure of what to say.

To say he wasn’t worried was impossible. This fleet had followed him for six or seven years; it was his lifeblood. Although he knew the battle plan still held two sinister trump cards yet to be revealed, and the odds of victory were high, the opponent, after all, was Auben. Playing a strangling game with such a tactical master hardly seemed a wise decision.

No one in this Command Room could beat Auben at his own game of specialty, could they?

”Do you know how many conditions he can hold simultaneously when performing simulation countermeasures?” Margaret asked casually while continuing her work.

The generals around perked up their ears, including Diana and Isaac.

Recalling Fatty’s terrifying intelligence interpretation and simulation abilities, Tony shook his head. That undoubtedly was a frightening number.

”I don’t know under full exertion how many he can handle at once. However,” Margaret finished her operation on the tactical computer and said to Tony, ”I don’t believe a commander who can simultaneously use over four hundred intelligence conditions, making his intelligence judgments nearly three minutes faster than typical Staff Department procedures, concentrating all intelligence in his mind to sketch battle scenarios and perform simulations, would lose to strangling tactics.”

”Even my grandfather was baffled by his multi-point command of small units. Winning through chaos in a strangle is his expertise,” amidst a group of dumbfounded gazes, Margaret turned to glance at Fatty, who was feverishly engaged with the tactical computer, and smiled coldly, ”There’s probably no one born who is better at this than him.”

Auben, not a chance!
