Counterfeit Hero

A moment’s wrong thought!

The outcome was predestined the moment Cheng Zhixuan attempted to seize the victory spoils from the Leray people. As Zhang Pengcheng knew Fatty, trying to take over the entire bandit army was as foolish as snatching food from a tiger’s mouth, even if it was just to scrape out a bit of resources from Fatty.

If anyone dared to reach out, Fatty would unhesitatingly bite.

Zhang Pengcheng felt fortunate that he met Fatty when the 1201 Fleet was in a desperate situation.

Otherwise, following the usual logic, he wouldn’t have had any favorable impression of a bandit leader who defied orders and set up his own base. Let alone becoming a life-and-death friend as now, he wouldn’t even help the Feiyang people solve this trouble!

After the competition, the Feiyang people seemed to quickly adjust their mentality. Carolina’s straightforward decision to reconcile with the bandit army surprised Zhang Pengcheng. However, Fatty seemingly did not respond to Carolina’s goodwill. Before boarding, Fatty had announced that the bandit army would not participate in this operation. After following the fleet for twenty-four hours to fulfill his duty as Chief of Staff, he would leave on a bandit army destroyer.

Zhang Pengcheng looked back at Carolina, who was discussing something with the staff in front of the simulation table. He didn’t understand why Carolina so easily accepted Fatty’s decision.

What exactly did Margaret tell her?!

As far as Zhang Pengcheng knew, Fatty had made a significant gain from defeating the Suss A1A2 Fleet last time. If he could convert it all into combat power, combined with his original ragtag warships, his strength should not be below the Feiyang B15 Fleet. At this critical moment of a major Suss offensive, why is Fatty......

”How’s it going?” Fatty’s voice interrupted Zhang Pengcheng’s thoughts.

He turned around to see that Fatty had somehow appeared beside him, joyfully eating golden slices of oranges.

”Our reconnaissance ship departing from the Ernst Star System has once again encountered the Suss Fleet.” Zhang Pengcheng pointed to the interstellar map on the command table in front of him and said, ”They have reached the FG13 obstacle zone in the Riding Gun Star System of the Triumph Corridor. They are advancing continuously. Based on their speed, it’s less than twenty hours until they reach the Ernst Star System jump point.”

”However......” Zhang Pengcheng frowned tightly: ”....we only discovered two A-level fleets and two B-level fleets. The other two A-level fleets of the Suss have separated from the main force and are currently unaccounted for.”

”Unaccounted for?” Fatty muttered, placing the last slice of orange into his mouth. Zhang Pengcheng’s news made him feel somewhat puzzled.

The Triumph Corridor leading to Mars and the Louis Corridor are two distinct routes. The Suss Fleet, now in the spotlight, must be aware of this since they spotted the Chuckna reconnaissance ship. Therefore, aside from accelerating to break through the Ernst Star System with lightning speed, they seemingly have no other choice, and it’s unnecessary to split their force at this moment......

Where could their other two fleets have gone?!

”The opinion of the Combat Department still favors intercepting the Suss Fleet here.....” Zhang Pengcheng pointed to an interstellar map location, the Rose Star System situated between the Ernst Star System and the Riding Gun Star System: ”...the Rose Star System!”

The Rose Star System is the endpoint of the Triumph Corridor and a necessary path to the Ernst Star System. The jump point is not far from the SK-1288 Constant Star System in the Rose Star System. After the Suss jump into the Rose Star System from the Riding Gun Star System, their position is at the top of the olive-shaped Rose Star System. Thus, to reach the jump point on the other end, they must pass through two jump channels and six obstacle zones, crossing the entire star system.

If the Chuckna Fleet can restrain them before entering the channel, the Suss Fleet will have no leisurely opportunity to enter the jump channel without first annihilating the Chuckna Fleet. For the Fei Alliance Joint Army, aiming to buy time, this is undoubtedly much better than a fierce defense at the Ernst jump point.

Defending the Ernst jump point would inevitably face the full-force assault of the Suss Fleet, resulting in a battle with no tricks. The Suss Empire would be able to leverage their nearly double numerical advantage over the Fei Alliance Joint Army. In the Rose Star System, as long as one fleet can hold the mouth of the Ernst Star System jump point, the other Fei Alliance fleets could be freed to circle around the Suss Fleet in the vast Triumph Corridor.

As long as the Suss Fleet has not eliminated the main Fei Alliance Fleet shadowing them, they dare not enter the jump point leading to the Ernst Star System!

Although feeling somewhat uneasy deep down, Fatty still nodded. Compared to a rigid defense in the Ernst Star System and confronting the Suss Empire Fleet head-on, he couldn’t find a reason to oppose this plan.

Moreover, the bandit army is destined not to intervene in this battle. This fight will be fought by Zhang Pengcheng and Carolina alone.

”I should go now.” Fatty glanced at Baz, who was signaling to him at the stairway to the central control platform with the white metal handrails, then looked at the time and said to Zhang Pengcheng.
