Counterfeit Hero

The item that caught Fatty’s attention was a Tai Sect’s exclusive mecha, [Lightning Lifting].

Even before the tournament, the bandit army had received intelligence about a suddenly emerging mech knight who unexpectedly became a seed player for the Tai Sect and made it into the top sixteen. On the contrary, Nakagawa Daiki, the top expert on Kubo’s side, had to fight his way through the main competition to advance through each match.

This news surprised many of the Tai Sect mech knights in the bandit army.

Fatty made his start from the Tai Sect Puluo Branch. Weii Jianshan and the other three elders, along with their split-off members of the Tai Sect, were the original core of the bandit army. They knew everything about the Tai Sect inside out.

This mech knight named Utherred Anmon was someone no one had heard of before. People didn’t know his appearance, age, or even his exact mech level. In the past Tai Sect, there simply was no such person!

Yet, this very person managed to appear in the top sixteen list.

During the top sixteen to top eight matches, everyone’s attention was focused on the four young mechanical knights from the bandit army and their opponents. The Feiyang mecha, along with the other three, silently and unnoticed, defeated its opponents and stood in the waiting area through the mecha passage.

Now, they were waiting to be lined up according to the matchup chart for the next round, to enter the passageleading to different fighting arenas.

The central fighting arena was also undergoing changes, merging. The eight arenas had merged into four. The increasingly larger arenas signified increasingly intense battles.

However... with Kirburn dead, how intense could the remaining battles be?

The cheering crowds in the stands were celebrating the bandit army’s forthcoming championship. This tournament already seemed to have no suspense.

Among the top eight, aside from the four famous young mech knights from the bandit army, there was only one obscure mech knight found somewhere by the Tai Sect and three Level 1 Mecha Commanders who struggled to advance from second-rate sects. All were contestants from this main branch; the winners from other branches did not survive the top sixteen to top eight battles.

After seeing the previous battles of the bandit army, who would dare to make a move?!

Even if they stepped into the arena, they would probably lose after a couple of perfunctory moves. The Feiyang people had already lost face, and now the bandit army was the one to be deified! Looking at the rapid advancements in techniques by the Phantom Stream, Black Dragon Sect, and Mingxin Sect’s mech knights, even the least imaginative could foresee the future sect landscape.

All mech knights not from the bandit army, and sects not part of the Sect Mutual Aid Alliance, were now worlds apart from them. Without aligning with them, they might face the fate of fading into obscurity. With nothing in their hands, can the Feiyang people support them forever? Besides, even that woman named Carolina and Cheng Zhixuan don’t seem to be authoritative figures in the Fei Alliance.

Under such circumstances, who would want to contend for ranking, not to mention it’s unreachable, and even if they achieved it, it would be nothing more than an illusionary cake drawn on paper.

Thus, everyone paid no particular attention to the other four mech knights who claimed victory. Even Fatty only glanced at them from the corner of his eye.

Furthermore, in terms of the mecha itself, [Lightning Lifting] is one of Tai Sect’s 6th Generation Mechas, renowned for its speed among the ten-plus specialized mechas of the Tai Sect. Weii Jianshan once used it for a long time and rated it highly. In the Tai Sect, it was considered an unremarkable configuration; piloting such a mecha in competition was so ordinary that nobody bothered to take a second look.

But now, Fatty felt something was off.

The split-off Tai Sect also had several dozen [Lightning Lifting] units. Fatty’s habit was always to dismantle and understand any mecha he hadn’t seen before. Over the years, countless mechas had fallen victim to his hands, and [Lightning Lifting] was no exception.

Starting from the mechanic soldier training camp, Fatty had been a mechanic soldier, escaping by assembling mechas twenty-one times. He had also browsed through thousands of mecha design blueprints in the Gallipalan Military Academy Laboratory and even owned the work logs of the scientific giant Casper. In the field of mechas, Fatty was considered a master, with exceptionally sharp eyes. His initial discovery was the structural problem of this [Lightning Lifting].

Through years of development, the mechas had formed a complete system of ten major systems.

They are as follows:

First, the power system consisting of the main engine, joint engine, kinetic energy storage, and kinetic energy accelerator.

Second, the transmission system for power transmission.

Third, the drive system composed of mechanical legs of different types for insects, beasts, and humans, along with auxiliary thrusters.

Fourth, the defense system including armor, energy shield, and anti-interference equipment.

Fifth, the long-range attack system that includes missiles and the Energy Cannon.

Sixth, the balance system divided into electronic balance and mechanical balance.

Seventh, the perception system used for sensing the outside world, including radar, multi-angle display screens, and long-range viewers.

Eighth, the energy system that includes loading energy, liquefying solid compressed energy blocks, and electronically controlling the distribution to engines.

Ninth, the mecha control system, including the universal control stick, virtual keyboard, command transmission lines, and manual mechanical control mode.

Tenth, the electronic assistance system centered on the mechanical computer, integrating electronic auxiliary control, electronic communication, electronic interference, and stealth mode functions.
