Counterfeit Hero

It sounds like all Mechas are similar, but in reality, different Mechas can be worlds apart in these ten major systems.

Just like human physique and appearance, all have eyes, nose, ears, and limbs, but once formed, they can be completely different. Mechas are the same; even if most of them are alike, just a couple of key component designs can make a significant difference in the appearance and performance of a Mecha. This holds true for civilian Mechas, military Mechas, and especially the difference between civilian and military Mechas is vast.

The part of the Lightning Lifting that immediately captured Fatty’s attention was its dual-arm elbow joints.

The arm joints of the Lightning Lifting are sixteen-level spherical engines produced by Orpheus Company. These engine joints are the standard configuration for current ordinary Private Mechas, but a few years ago, when the Lightning Lifting was first released, this was an advanced configuration available only in a select few Mechas.

At that time, because of the vastly advanced technology, the designer of the Mecha opted to directly create a sealed armor casing for the elbow and design the inner linkage rod and coupler of the joint to an unchangeable coordinated mode.

Now, although the sixteen-level spherical joint engines are still the standard configuration for many cost-effective ordinary Mechas, when the sixty-four-level joints have already emerged, no Mecha Designer would still design the inner linkage rod and coupler for the elbow joint to an unchangeable mode. This mode is only found in the Lightning Lifting!

But what Fatty saw was a Mecha with completely different elbow joints. Due to this suspicion, Fatty’s gaze, almost out of professional habit, followed the elbow joint upward, analyzing the entire arm of the Mecha, observing the shape of the shoulder union and the Mecha’s chest, cockpit... the more Fatty looked, the more peculiar he found it.

This is nowhere near a Lightning Lifting; this Mecha, apart from its exterior shell, has significant differences in the mechanical layout of positions such as the arms, shoulders, chest, and even its entire basic structure compared to the Lightning Lifting. Ordinary people may not discern this, but to someone like Fatty, a perverse Mechanic, it was entirely exposed.

Fatty remained silent... he constantly felt he had seen this Mecha somewhere before. He pondered hard but failed to notice Margaret’s expression beside him was already somewhat rigid, her hand holding his arm growing cold.

Margaret was making a conscious effort to control herself. As the granddaughter of Hastings, she had lived alongside the most powerful people in the universe for over twenty years. Her beauty, wisdom, and the environment she was in made her inherently proud, even if she tried her best to be modest and peaceful. In Feiyang, whether praised as a celestial princess or cursed as a witch, people couldn’t refuse her, despite the destruction and accolades.

Even the young members within Feiyang’s top aristocratic circle, who found her disagreeable, would only surrender when encountering a proposal she made to Fatty.

Margaret never cared about others’ opinions; she even thought she wouldn’t care about anything. But now she discovered there is one thing she absolutely couldn’t accept: being ignored by a peer who knows her identity!

No one ever ignored her, neither her status, intelligence, nor beauty. Margaret was accustomed to flattery and jealousy; people had a myriad of expressions towards her, but none ever included such disregard! For this reason, she found it unacceptable. What was more unacceptable was that such disregard transpired even under an offer that ought to be irresistible...

”What do you want?!”

Margaret couldn’t bear the silence any longer and broke it. Since this Fatty helped her defeat SM01314 in the Sky-Filling Fire, she knew acquiring this person was something she had to do.

No one understood the current situation better than she did.

In modern warfare, regardless of the battles interstellar warships might fight, the final determination of victory happens on the planets’ surfaces. In historical wars, countless examples exist of failed campaigns which held Star Domains but couldn’t capture planets, thus unable to maintain long supply lines or establish forward bases for further strategic advancement.

Hastings sent her here and dispatched people to the Domain of Jesus, Odin Domain, God’s Domain, and even the distant Realm of Allah precisely because of the Mech Knights in the Five Great Free Ports and their Mecha Fighting skills!

The terrifying Mechas from the Binart Empire that entirely surpassed ordinary imagination were no longer a secret within the allied forces’ leadership. While the public and grassroots officers and soldiers of the Fei Alliance remain unaware, the appearance of these Mechas has left the Allied Command Center deeply distressed. Recently, some high-ranking members of the Allies have even shown signs of pessimism.

In response to these newly emerged Mechas, the Feiyang Army has consolidated nearly all national defense technological power to undertake a massive research project for the Twelfth Generation Mecha, even resorting to technology exchange to establish military laboratories for joint research and development among all Fei Alliance Member Countries organized in Chuckna.

However, despite Feiyang’s technological reserves having completed the Eleventh Generation Mecha two years ago and starting research on the Twelfth Generation Mecha, they are still far from manufacturing and forming combat capability.
