Counterfeit Hero

The main pavilion of Seg Convention and Exhibition Center was almost overturned by the waves of cheers.

With Zhang Pengcheng in a full admiral’s uniform leading the ruckus regardless of his status, and a group of Chuckna officers bouncing on their feet in glee, over eighty thousand spectators filled the stands, completely losing control.

Looking around, everywhere were crowds clapping and stomping their feet. Whistling, cheering, and even women’s screams resounded through the sky. Everyone was like they were celebrating a carnival, madly ecstatic.

And this is only a snapshot! If God were to press pause on the time at the main pavilion of Seg Convention and Exhibition Center at this moment, everyone would hear an even greater clamor — the entire Mars planet had already exploded! Squares, residential areas, bars, restaurants, public flying cars, company offices, and every place with a television were engulfed in madness and chaos. People couldn’t believe that what was happening on TV screens was for real!

Hariman was dead, Joseph was dead, Nakagawa Daiki was dead......Kirburn was dead too!

Dead, dead, truly dead! Right there, amidst the countdown of that Leray fatty’s raised hand, these four individuals were killed one by one!

Even God should be admitted to a mental hospital at this moment!

Who were these people, they were the symbols of this world. They were the rulers of this world, the stars of this world. The War God title represented the apex of achievement, represented illustrious fame, represented power and wealth, represented everything! Their appearances in public were always the focus of attention and flashlights.

They were high above, unattainable, they were every Martian youth’s dream! Regarding these figures, for years, ordinary Martians, apart from gazing upwards, could only look up. Mars’ ruling patterns had continued for thousands of years, and in the temple of Martian hearts, they were worshiped as gods.

But now.........the gods have been slain!

Under the eyes of the crowd, including Kirburn, who had dominated the top of Mars mecha knights rankings for over a decade, along with three War Gods and one Level 1 Mecha Commander, were...........beaten to death by several young members of the bandit army!

Baz, infantry, Long Tai, Cosmo, these four people were not unfamiliar to people. Yet, their fame was but among young mecha pilots. Not to mention War Gods, even mechanical commanders, there were hundreds and thousands ahead of them.

They should have progressed step by step through the ranks, year after year, striving through hard practice and talent to become mecha commanders as soon as possible. From Level 3 to Level 2, then to Level 1, it would take them twenty years to climb the ranks of mecha commanders! If lucky and innately gifted, becoming a Mechanical God before forty would already be supreme honor!

But now, these four unreasonably young mech knights cleanly killed the high War Gods, pulled Mars’ myth from its pedestal, and trampled it underfoot!

This is an earthquake overturning the whole Mars world. The knowledge that Martians built throughout their lives was completely overthrown at this moment.

Watching the screen, that fatty counting down four times, the four mechas fallen in the arena, the cheering crowds in the stands, the close-up shots of the iron-faced Feiyang officers, the calm and composed War Gods behind the fatty.......everyone was at a loss for words to describe their shock.

Miraculously defeated the Northern Alliance, yet vanished for a long period under Feiyang’s marginalization, the bandit army returned with a stronger means.

They created a miracle! In this war-ridden era, a temple engraved with the bandit army’s name emerged from the clouds. This earth-shaking battle was the loud hymn sung as the temple ascended from the clouds.

The loudest cheers naturally came from Puluo Town.

This small town with nearly four million population, having restored its former tranquility, went completely berserk while watching Cosmo’s turnaround in a seemingly hopeless situation and witnessing Kirburn’s astonishing defeat.

This is their descendants, their bandit army!

The Feiyang people and their malicious henchmen ultimately dug their own grave. General Tian Xingjian, proclaimed the bandit army’s presence in this manner.

At this moment, four million Puluo Town residents were immensely proud.

In the giant white pavilion of Seg Convention and Exhibition Center surrounded by towering buildings, the chants of ”bandit army...bandit army...” rang out in increasingly neat and uplifting rhythm.

Margaret quietly watched Fatty, deaf to the ear-splitting cheers. In her heart, only one voice remained......

”I told you, you’re just foils!”

These words, like a heavy hammer, struck her heart repeatedly. In just nine words, every word seemed as iron, resounding powerfully. Cold, overbearing, arrogant!

The owner of the words stood right in front of her, still in his plump appearance, yet against the backdrop of the mountain-like cheers from the stands, this figure emitted a sense of grandeur.

Majestic as a mountain!

The bandit army’s battle has been enshrined. Henceforth, on Mars, no one could surpass them anymore. They have become this land of exile’s legend of this era!

Margaret slowly walked to Fatty’s side.

The crisp sound of high heels swaying her graceful silhouette.

She stood on the terrace, hand resting on the railing.

A white shirt, with the top two buttons undone, revealing her delicate collarbones and smooth, elegant neck. Around her neck, a thin platinum necklace held her identification tag. Under her shirt, her prominent, peach-shaped breasts pushed the fabric into a seductive, blood-pumping curve.

Thanks to years of ballet training, Margaret’s hips were well-toned, and combined with her straight, slender legs, she naturally exuded an elegant, poised presence.

”I know their ranks; they are all Mechanical Knights.” A faint smile appeared on Margaret’s lips. ”Originally, they had no chance of defeating these Level 1 War Gods, but... they did it.”

Fatty didn’t even glance at Margaret, closing his eyes to relish the thunderous cheers, feeling quite smug inside.

Since the facade had been torn, there was nothing to hold back. If the Feiyang people can do one thing, I can do another! No matter what the Feiyang people want to do, the bandit army will never retreat! Others might fear this country, but I don’t. After all… we are Allies!

”I really can’t imagine what kind of scene it would be if these War Gods made a move.” Margaret’s gaze slid past Hagrove and the other War Gods as she continued, ”However, your battle in the Sky-Filling Fire already gave me enough room for imagination. Now I understand how you took Mars.... If these four Mechanical Knights can improve to this extent, then the improvement among other bandit army mecha pilots likely won’t be far off, will it?”

Fatty turned his head, facing Margaret with the back of his head, his eyes darting around restlessly.

What scheme is this woman plotting now?!

”Feiyang Nationality, rank of Admiral, billions of wealth...” Margaret gently brushed her hair with her hand, her eyes glowing with increasing determination. Her voice was light, soft, and gentle, but to Fatty and the nearby Weii Jianshan and others, it was like a thunderclap. They heard her slowly say, ”.... I’ll marry you!”

Fatty suddenly turned his head back, seeing the breathtakingly beautiful, enchantingly seductive woman shyly say to him: ”This is my greatest sincerity. You will become Marshal Hastings’ grandson-in-law. With such status, you can get anything you want!”

Fatty stared at Margaret for a long while, then suddenly, with a mix of surprise and delight, his face lit up with a smile, and he said in a trembling voice: ”Sounds like it’s not bad, but I wonder what I need to give up?!”

”The bandit army!”

Margaret chuckled softly, looping her arm through Fatty’s: ”We can do without Mars, and after the war is won, compensation to Leray will also be under your control. As long as it’s not excessive, you can do whatever you want! The bandit army will be assigned as Special-level troops, directly commanded by the Military Department. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, they don’t even need to enter the battlefield; they just need to act as fighting instructors within the Feiyang Army....”

Fatty looked at Margaret.

The girl in front of him was very young, looking even a bit younger than his own twenty-six years.

However, he had to admit, this girl was far more formidable than he imagined....

It’s hard to describe such a woman, naturally beautiful with an enviable background. She possessed high intelligence and military talent, her demeanor captivating, able to charm with every smile and gesture. Unconventional, unpredictable, she was the center of attention wherever placed.

Now, she revealed another of her advantages... that is, an extraordinary decisiveness!

Fatty always had self-awareness. He never considered himself the prince on a white horse... which wasn’t too disappointing for princesses but was rather cruel to the horse. Therefore, he never believed in love at first sight happening to him. When studying psychology and con-man techniques, he dedicatedly studied skills to woo women.

How to appear imposing in front of women, how to talk sweetly, how to take advantage of opportunities, how to make them feel safe... although effective, Fatty wasn’t confident enough to believe Margaret could fall in love with him in just two short days.

So, the reason she was willing to use her life as a bargaining chip, binding herself to the ship of Feiyang, could only be one. She understood what the over ten thousand bandit army mecha pilots, along with their fighting skills and training techniques, meant to Feiyang’s armored troops!

Such an over-the-top proposal coming from such a girl left Fatty somewhat lost.

Are Feiyang people really all cut from the same mold?!

For their country, are they capable of doing any unimaginable thing?!

Fatty’s gaze shifted to Box No. 1.

Carolina, with a face ashen from the cheers, was about to get up and leave. She wouldn’t watch the remainder of the matches. To her, they would only add to the humiliation.

While spinning ideas on how to use his bargaining chips to fool these Feiyang women, Fatty suddenly focused his gaze.

A figure in the fighting arena’s passage caught his attention.
