Counterfeit Hero

Under the fist, it’s Zhang Pengcheng and behind him, Carolina, who is preparing to leave...

”Capture him alive!” Anmon sneered, determined to make that Fatty pay for his words. No one in this arena could stop him.

All the spectators were stunned. The sudden change left them momentarily confused. Just as the wind stirred by the punch was tousling Zhang Pengcheng’s hair, suddenly a green light-shadow flashed past. Only a ”boom!” was heard. Cosmo, who was closest, crashed into the purple Mecha at the critical moment.

The fist of the purple Mecha veered off its path, smashing into the other end of the box’s terrace. The Number One Box, held up by a retractable mechanical arm, began to shake violently. A large hole appeared on the box’s wall, leaving only half of the terrace, as various debris rained down onto the stands. Inside the box, people were thrown into disarray; on the stands, chaos ensued.

Anmon hadn’t expected the green Mecha to arrive so quickly, and his certain strike was thrown off course!

Standing inside the control cabin of the Mecha, fully surrounded by warm nutrient fluid, Anmon suddenly widened his eyes, obscured by the black control holographic glasses. The breathing tube covering his mouth and nose emitted a loud gasp. The tilting purple Mecha twisted in midair, performing a Level 5 mid-air pivot, flashing to the side of the [Ranger], delivering a series of kicks.

If it weren’t known that this Mecha attempted to attack the Feiyang Generals, its audacity would be staggering. Some spectators on the stands, who had their mouths covered tightly, almost shouted in amazement!

A Level 5 maneuver is nothing special in Mars Free Port. It’s challenging for ordinary people but a common feat for Mech Knights and above. On the ground, they can execute thousands of different ones! Moreover, the same Mecha maneuver, controlled by the techniques of various schools, can display thousands of different nuances. In terms of elegance and precision, the purple Mecha’s ”mid-air pivot” wasn’t particularly beautiful.

However, there is a distinction between the two.

A general Mech Knight performing a Level 5 mid-air pivot does so by propelling the Mecha upward, reaching the peak, and then executing, all without interference. Yet, the purple Mecha’s mid-air pivot was performed after being bumped by the [Ranger] from its highest elevation, during the descent!

It’s like a figure skater ready to jump a double axel, compared to being bumped midair and forced to perform the double axel before landing, the latter of which is vastly different in difficulty! The former is a standard move in figure skating, whereas the latter is almost unbelievable!

And from being struck by the [Ranger], to performing the Level 5 difficulty mid-air pivot, the purple Mecha did so smoothly, without any hint of clumsiness, like flowing water. Just this move left everyone present holding their breath... How many of the Mars Commander War Gods could achieve this?!

Where on earth did this Tai Sect Knight come from?!

As this thought crossed the mind, Cosmo piloting the green [Ranger], with its portly body, performed a swallow-like mid-air pivot, defying physics with a lateral movement to evade the purple [Lightning Lifting]’s attack, then countered with rapid double flying kicks.

This time, no one could hold back any longer, and the Mechanical Armor Hall erupted in loud cheers.

What?!

Anmon, completely unprepared for his opponent to mimic his move, was startled, frantically fending off Cosmo’s attack, backflipping to land. He stumbled a few steps before finally regaining balance.

Before he could gather his thoughts, amidst the sudden cheers, the green [Ranger] landed and sprung forward, darting right to his face. Anmon gritted his teeth to meet the attack, and in the blink of an eye, fists and feet were flying between the two. Then, two more green shadows flashed—Baz and Long Tai joined the battle in quick succession.

In the box, Zhang Pengcheng, Carolina, and other generals and officers struggled to rise from the floor. Below the box, three green and one purple Mechas fiercely fought to the death. Besides the shifting shadows, all the spectators could hear was the fierce fight like a storm. Over ten Feiyang Ninth Generation Military [Heaven’s Punishment] that gathered couldn’t even intervene.

”Clang!” The forearms of two Mechas collided with an ear-piercing metallic clash, [Lightning Lifting] used the momentum to flip its arm downward, body rotating horizontally in the air, silently kicking its right leg straight toward Baz’s Mecha cockpit. Anmon was filled with murderous intent, aiming to quickly eliminate the three green Mechas; this kick was both swift and vicious.

Baz deftly parried several lightning-fast kicks from [Lightning Lifting], stepping back rapidly. Suddenly ducking low, he rushed forward, one hand levering, executing a Monkey Stealing Peach strike.

Baz, naturally cunning, excelled in learning Fatty’s shameless moves inside the bandit army cadets and always stood out. In high spirits, he made a move that startled Anmon.

Anmon, never expecting the opponent’s pilot to employ such a technique, was forced to leap high. Just as he dodged Baz’s attack, a sharp whistle sounded behind him...
