Counterfeit Hero

Since we’re going to fight, we’re going to beat the Four Great Schools into submission!

Fatty doesn’t have the time to play mind games with these Old Ghosts! If we don’t show them something substantial, there’s no way these slick old geezers will willingly ally with us. They don’t care about fancy talk, they need to see real strength with their own eyes.

From the beginning, Fatty decided to use the carrot-and-stick approach. Whatever it takes, he’s going to make these guys who came here begging for a beating leave feeling ecstatic! Playing SM, who in this world can reach a higher level than I do?

So, in the first match against Anlington, Fatty directly used the Shenxing Hundred Changes, which has characteristics very similar to the Phantom Stream Technique.

Little Pi’s ”secret martial arts manual” says: All martial arts in the world ultimately lead to the same place. Factions are just artificially created divisions.

Fatty agrees with this deeply.

If Phantom Stream’s ”One into Hundred” is merely a technique distilled by a civilian mecha school over many years, then Shenxing Hundred Changes, with its complete theories and data, is the ancestor of these techniques!

Sure enough, one move left everyone inside and outside the training ground stunned.

Damn, that was awesome! Fatty trembled with excitement inside the mecha cockpit.

After shaking from excitement, Fatty jumped out of the mecha, glanced around indifferently, leaned against the mecha on his own, lit a cigarette, and coolly accepted the stunned and admiring gazes of the Four Great Schools’ mech knights and bandit soldiers.

”Oh my god! Anlington didn’t last three minutes under his hand!” A mech knight from the Thousand Army Sect gaped wide enough to swallow an egg.

”Yeah, I was seeing stars. How did he get behind Anlington?” The responding mech knight from the Huaxing Sect also had his mouth wide open. With his naturally large bull-like eyes, he looked rather comical.

”In a word, it’s miraculous!” Another Huaxing Sect knight stared directly at Fatty, without blinking, full of admiration: ”If I could learn this move from Fatty, the Absolute Kill Stream would be nothing!”

While the mech knights of the Four Great Schools were busy discussing, the bandit soldiers on the side were pridefully looking at them as if they were a bunch of country bumpkins.

”The Colonel pulled off a beautiful move. Look at those guys from the Four Great Schools, their eyes are locked on.” A New Tai Sect mech knight winked at his companion, mocking them.

”Of course, they are. Look at Sade and Bridge Man, the two Level 3 Mecha War Gods, their eyes are wide and mouths agape... Somebody get a big duck egg, I bet I can throw it straight from twenty meters into their throats!” The Tai Sect companion smirked while gesturing towards Sade and the others.

”This move by Phantom Stream feels so vindicated! Just wait, who on Mars dares to say our techniques are subpar now!” A few Phantom Stream knights were even more excited, faces flushed, chests puffed out, heads held high, as if trying to let the world know they were Phantom Stream knights.

Maintaining his posture, Fatty observed Sade and Bridge Man staring at the data collection terminal from the corner of his eye, listening intently to the chattering of the mech knights and bandit soldiers, feeling greatly satisfied by the recognition. He almost burst out laughing when he heard the bandit soldiers’ discussions but managed to control himself.

Continuing to listen with one ear, he slightly raised his head, pretending to look at the sky... Oh my god, Helen on the third-floor window was laughing so hard she couldn’t straighten up... What’s so funny, why can’t I strike a dashing pose?

”Is this the long-lost ’One into Hundred’ from Phantom Stream?”

Just as Fatty was squinting his eyes, giving Helen a seductive and threatening glance, Anlington’s dry voice rang in his ear.

Turning his head, Fatty’s expression had changed to mature and stable, his eyes clear. He looked at Anlington, flicked the ash from his cigarette, and nodded lightly.

Anlington’s face showed a mix of shock and yearning, sighing: ”They say Phantom Stream dominated the faction rankings before their core techniques were lost, with mysterious and swift movements that often won by surprise. Normally, we just thought Phantom Stream was boasting, but I didn’t expect their movements to be truly this amazing!”

Fatty smiled and waved his hand, saying: ”That is the narrow mindset of factions. You must understand, mecha martial arts ultimately lead to the same place, they should all be interconnected. The barriers between factions have hindered the development and exchange of mecha techniques.” He looked meaningfully into Anlington’s surprised eyes and said: ”I have some insights into the fast attack techniques of the Thousand Army Sect. I wonder, Mr. Anlington, can I borrow your mecha for a bit?”

Anlington’s mouth gaped as he looked at Fatty, after a long pause, he hurriedly said: ”Of course, of course, you can! Are you planning to...”

Fatty nodded: ”In the next match, I’ll use the techniques of the Thousand Army Sect.”

When they saw Fatty climb into the golden [Pentium] cockpit, Sade, Bridge Man, and Fa’en finally snapped out of the shock brought by the lines of data on the computer screen.

The boast Fatty made in the training room was verified without a doubt. The Back-step Side-Spinning Counter Kick seen in the training room, and the One into Hundred move now fully explained the situation. If Phantom Stream and New Tai Sect truly mastered these techniques that greatly enhance basic control speed, other factions would have no place in the future!
