Counterfeit Hero

The top-tier laboratories left in Silicon Valley have all been taken over by the bandit army. All the heavy-duty transport trucks in the district have been gathered to haul away every piece of equipment and material. The bandit army’s Private Mechas have also switched to wheeled road mode, responsible for transporting personnel.

The district, after a round of visits by this gang of bandits, is so clean that there’s not even a speck of dust left. Even rats, upon entering, would leave in tears, looking for ropes to hang themselves elsewhere.

No wonder this army calls itself the bandit army, they’re more ruthless than actual bandits!

Though bleeding with anger inside, Folman showed no dissatisfaction on the outside. Instead, he and his subordinates ran back and forth to help, his face always wearing a genial smile. This is, after all, a world where the weak are prey to the strong, and Folman knows how to survive in it.

Moreover, what the bandit army took away were just the studios and their equipment and materials. Although it hurt a bit, it wasn’t a fatal blow to the Kasi Youth Party.

”Quick, move it!” Folman called to his subordinates. ”Hey, put your back into it!”

Fatty was also busy giving orders, ”Yes, take everything, don’t leave anything behind! What, Clover Studio? Have them get on the Mecha, everyone squeeze in!”

Folman ran up to Fatty, ”Brother, is there anything else we can help with?”

Fatty shook Folman’s hand, ”Brother, you’re too kind, it makes me feel bad. You guys take a rest, we’ve got this, we know the job well!” Turning his head, he told the bandit army soldier, ”Hurry up, let’s get back to Puluo Town before dark!”

”...........”

A few hours later, the bandit army finally set off with the transport convoy, marching back to Puluo Town.

Before leaving, Fatty gave Folman a heartfelt hug, thanking him and the Kasi Youth Party for their selfless help. He also earnestly requested that if any scientific personnel want to go to Puluo Town in the future, Folman should help send them over. Otherwise, the bandit army would have to make another trip.

Folman, sweating profusely, agreed repeatedly. He had already decided to never give these bandits any excuse to come back. Any scientist who wanted to go to Puluo Town would be treated like a deity by him. As long as the bandit army doesn’t return, everything else is negotiable!

Watching the Private Mechas of the bandit army disappear from view, Folman finally breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to look at his dejected, empty-handed subordinates and shook his head with a bitter smile. All members of the Kasi Youth Party had been gathered together, and their weapons had long been confiscated. The bandits didn’t return those weapons when they left either.

However, these were all minor issues. As long as...

”Chairman!” A trusted aide interrupted Folman’s thoughts, crawling over and crying, ”Our treasury and armory...”

Folman’s face changed drastically, and he asked nervously, ”What happened? Did the bandit army go there?”

The trusted aide had barely nodded when Folman collapsed to the ground — places the bandit army visited had no hope left.

There were no tears to cry!

************************************

When the fully loaded bandit army returned to Puluo Town through the empty district highway, Chekov’s First Fleet of the bandit army continued their space plundering.

No one knew which faction this bizarre Ragged Fleet belonged to, nor where it came from. However, it was undeniable that this fleet had already made a name for itself. Although its fame on the Mars Free Port planet was not quite on par with the bandit army of Puluo Town, in the thousands of Freedom Docks and Space Stations of the entire Mars Free Channel, this fleet, known as the ”Shattered Ghost,” was far more notorious than the bandit army.

Shattered, meaning even more broken than ragged, almost to the point of falling apart. To people, this fleet’s appearance could only be described as shattered. Ghost, on the other hand, described how elusive their movements were. To explain the fleet’s fame in one sentence: the most flagrant pirates in the history of the Mars Free Channel!

In just one week, the First Fleet of the bandit army had already plundered nineteen commercial fleets in succession! They sunk sixteen armed escort ships that dared to fire back, captured fifty-five transport ships and armed vessels, and seized countless materials!

There was nothing this fleet didn’t dare to rob. They were like a pack of wolves, pouncing on everything they saw!

To the crew of the First Fleet, Chekov was to blame for all of this.

When two transport ships of the Tai Sect fell into Chekov’s hands, and he saw the billions worth of energy, materials, components, mechanical equipment, and weapons and ammunition falling effortlessly into his lap, it was already too late to turn back.

Always considering himself a traditional soldier, Chekov showed no hesitation or moral struggle. He eagerly dove into the ecstasy of plundering, indulging with no turning back.

The bandit army lacked everything: people, money, warships, Mecha weapons, they needed it all! And Fatty’s plan for the fleet’s initial operations could be summed up in one word: plunder! Plunder everything from every faction, every resource, endlessly!

The intensity of the plundering had to reach the level of controlling the flow of materials in and out of Mars Free Port!

At first, Chekov thought this was tough work. Surviving purely by robbing seemed too miserable.

It wasn’t until the first successful robbery that Chekov understood why Fatty named the army as bandits — to grow quickly in this world, robbery was the most effective shortcut!

Especially for the current First Fleet of the bandit army, achieving massive profits without any investment and effort, requiring no technical skills, with the Magic Cube and other nine specialized warships, they could catch the fastest ships on Mars Channel with a single charge, and everything would be within their grasp!

And the veterans from the Redbeard Pirate Group in the fleet were experts in this area. In the past few days, any ship that caught their eye ended up thoroughly plundered. The band’s material reserves were growing explosively.

Chekov quickly got addicted, roaming the Channel daily with his warships.

The crew often saw this middle-aged captain’s eyes gleaming with a ghostly green light.

Whenever they spotted a transport fleet, this guy would jump around agitatedly like he had pepper up his ass, shouting incessantly, ”Charge, rob them blind!”

Thanks to the fleet’s far superior performance compared to ordinary ships, such straightforward orders from Chekov always met with success. Charging down the channel, surrounding, signaling, firing upon resistance, and ramming if necessary. This savage plundering had made the entire Mars Channel change color at its mention.

Though they despised Chekov’s unsophisticated demeanor, the crew thoroughly enjoyed the plundering. Since the First Fleet set sail, they had gotten through the integration period during the robberies, and their cooperation had become more seamless. They were also increasingly confident in their warships.

The main control room of the Magic Cube was now silent. Facing radar information and optical telescope images of a fleet, Chekov remained uncharacteristically silent for a long time.

The crew, too, had tight lips, showing extraordinary seriousness.

This time, the First Fleet of the bandit army was up against not just any commerce group but the main fleet of the Demon’s Eye!

Barbarossa’s Second Fleet of the bandit army had just sent back intelligence.

After wandering in space for so long, finally, this day had come!
