Counterfeit Hero

Imagine what role repulsive or attractive forces with arbitrary transformation would play in Mecha battles. If two Mechas are engaged in combat, a Mech Knight with proficient control skills could, with the help of a magnetic instrument, create a force field outside the Mecha!

If this force field generates repulsion toward the ground or behind, it could increase the advance and airborne speed of the Mecha; if it generates attraction, it could speed up the descent or evasion of the Mecha. During the confrontation, this force field can not only use the opponent’s Mecha speed to enhance its own Mecha combat power, but also block the opponent’s attacks and slow down their speed.

In the ever-changing battlefield, even the slightest change in force could be a matter of life and death!

More importantly, the constantly changing forces can generate a smooth force akin to Tai Chi.

One hand pushes, one hand draws, and countless moves flow continuously!

Once trapped in this force field, the opponent’s Mecha would feel its engine power fluctuating, with movements alternately fast and slow, completely out of its own control.

Luckily, this thing isn’t finished yet!

Fatty quickly opened the communication channel and sent a transaction request to Black Devil Studio. He was determined to keep this thing in his own hands! And the research problems Black Devil Studio faced could only be solved by him!

**************

Inside Black Devil Studio.

Belchi, a 55-year-old man with black genes, sighed deeply.

The twenty long-time companions, over thirty researchers, and more than sixty staff members were all gathered in the studio hall.

Each of them had one or two suitcases at their feet, containing their belongings.

Despite their reluctance, Black Devil Studio had no choice but to end here! Mars Free Port was no longer a paradise for these scientific eccentrics. It was now occupied by war and slaughter. Even if they had research they couldn’t bear to leave, they could only choose to leave, or they’d probably never have the chance to research again.

Belchi’s eyes sorrowfully swept over the faces of his twenty companions. They were the world’s most talented scientists, yet most unwelcomed and disregarded madmen. Only here could their genius thoughts spark, but returning to mainstream human society, they’d be like walking corpses, much like himself!

Moreover, more than half of them were wanted by various governments! Even Belchi himself was forced to flee to Mars Free Port due to a revenge murder in the Leray Federation. Not to mention that Leray was now at war, even in peacetime, he couldn’t return.

Looking back at the empty studio, Belchi couldn’t bring himself to say goodbye. He simply couldn’t bear it. Once these people dispersed, meeting again would be impossible. The unfinished research of Black Devil would be a lifetime regret!

Damn war!

A young female researcher couldn’t hold back and began to cry. Girls always had the right to be sad in public.

She didn’t want to leave and didn’t know where she’d go after leaving.

Not just her, everyone in the studio was lost.

But Black Devil Studio couldn’t stay any longer. Just yesterday, this building was hit by several rockets. The street-facing windows were riddled with bullets from explosions and gunfire. The armed forces fighting in the area had almost made this the battleground center.

Plus, the controlling armed force in this area was a Black Society gang engaging in robbery and murder. If they hadn’t spent a large sum of money, everyone in the studio would already be dead. Now, they’ve issued an ultimatum to leave, and besides personal belongings, all financial equipment and devices of the studio are to be left behind!

This is already a favor beyond the law.

Thinking of the scar-faced leader who came to the studio a few days ago, Belchi couldn’t help but shiver. Luckily, he contacted a merchant ship heading to the Northern Channel No. 1069 Space Station. Missing this chance, that vicious guy would surely make everyone in the studio disappear cleanly.

Checking his watch, Belchi clenched his teeth and waved, ”Go......”

Before he could finish, the central computer communicator of Black Devil Studio suddenly emitted a beeping sound. Someone was requesting a transaction communication.

Belchi smiled bitterly, what’s there to trade at this time?!

”Wait!” The crying female researcher quickly ran to the central computer and accepted the video call.

A special encrypted communication channel from the trade network?

The scientific eccentrics became interested at once, listening to a call before leaving wasn’t a big deal.

A white, chubby guy with a big round head and ears appeared on the virtual screen. His gentle and amiable smile made it impossible to be wary of him.

”Who are you?” Belchi felt that Fatty looked somewhat familiar.

”Well, it’s like this….” Fatty rubbed his hands, adopting a most harmless look, and said, ”I want to buy your magnetic instrument, including all the blueprints and data.”

”Magnetic instrument?” Belchi was stunned for a moment. He quickly recalled the research project he conceived a year ago and organized everyone to work on for nearly three months without final completion. Puzzled, he asked, ”That’s just a semi-finished product, are you sure you want it?”
