Counterfeit Hero

Finally, the day has come!

Looking at the radar information, Chekov recalled the scene when the Blue Rose arrived in the Free World alone, and suddenly felt a surge of emotions. Thoughts flooded his mind incessantly.

If Tian Xingjian’s battle in Puluo Town was the breakthrough for the bandit army’s ground forces, then for the current bandit army’s First Fleet, this was the same blood-forged battle they needed.

On this point, Chekov and Tian Xingjian had long reached a consensus!

On the first day Tian Xingjian arrived in Puluo Town, the two of them talked for a long time over the communicator. Basically, it was Fatty talking and Chekov listening. Chekov remembered every word of the conversation clearly. After fully exploiting everything that had happened or was about to happen in the Free World, Fatty strung them together into a grand plan!

A genius, yet insane plan.

Chekov found it hard to believe that with his own rationality, he would join such a wildly imaginative plan and implement it without hesitation step by step. He didn’t know if he was crazy or if Fatty was crazy, all he knew was that night, he saw the clarity in Fatty’s eyes on the central computer screen of the Audrey.

For the sake of that non-vulgar moment from the vulgar Fatty, Chekov decided he would fight alongside him, regardless of being seen as a crazy idiot by others.

Leray was now at a desperate point, surrounded by strong enemies, with rumours of futile resistance at home. The three hundred-year independent Leray was on the verge of becoming a subjugated slave to another country!

In the three years of war, the domestic elites had exhausted their strength to support the resistance. They had fallen one after another on the battlefield, and at this point, another group of elites had chosen the path of self-preservation. Who knew that in this exiled world, there was such a group of people standing firm, and who knew, at the critical moment, that there was such an ordinary Fatty trying to hold up the sky. Leray needed such crazy idiots!

”From now on, this will be the territory of the Leraydemocratic Federation, an inseparable part of the Federation, holy and sacred! We are standing on the land of our motherland.”

”Leray has been peaceful for three hundred years, but the blood of this country has never cooled. Many people have died for this country. In the future, we will be among them. Even if one day, Leray is invaded, we will at least stand on Leray’s land and fight them to the end!”

The day Saleria announced its neutrality, Fatty’s thunderous rallying cry at the Redbeard Pirate Base still echoed in Chekov’s ears.

Now, it seemed that unknowingly, the plan discussed with Fatty during their communication had been mostly implemented—overturning the Sect Federation and the entrenched power structures of Mars, re-establishing sect traditions, transforming from an outsider to a core member of the sect! Fatty’s plan for upheaval was a perilous and thorny path!

From his initial arrival on Mars, coercing Kubo, venturing alone into the Tai Sect, overthrowing Monroe, killing Gandi, taking control of the Puluo Branch, then escalating sect conflicts by defeating the Nine Halls, dividing and forming alliances with traditional forces of the Tai Sect, recruiting the Phantom Stream to form a preliminary team, to now becoming famous from the offensive and defensive battle of Puluo Town... Fatty had single-handedly stirred this enormous wave, achieving the current situation for the bandit army!

Chekov couldn’t even imagine the perils along this journey. No matter how formidable he was, Fatty was still flesh and blood, and any misstep could mean a horrible end. Yet, Fatty had walked through it step by step, even arrogantly and provocatively!

He was someone who always surprised and shocked people! Considering him timid, he would act recklessly and boldly, considering him cautious and sharp, he would take dangerous and provocative actions. No one could predict what he would do; his thoughts were truly untraceable!

Whenever Chekov wandered on the Magic Cube, touching the cold hull of the vessel, looking at the ramming beak, turrets, engines, and power cabin... He felt fortunate that Leray had such a Fatty. He also felt fortunate that his life could command such a battleship and follow Fatty, experiencing such an extraordinary period.

Even if the end of this group of madmen was shattered into pieces, it would still be damn worth it!

Now, Fatty had completed the sword-casting campaign for the bandit army’s ground forces, and the bandit army had become famous through the battle of Puluo Town. Next, the bandit’s Space Fleet would meet their trial by fire, completing the final refining process for their blade!

Chekov gently turned the knob, enlarging the radar information. The main fleet of the Demon’s Eye was just 230,000 kilometers away! In space, this distance was virtually within reach!

It was a fleet consisting of one cruiser, two modified destroyers, twelve armed merchant ships, and twenty raiders and torpedo boats, numbering 3.5 times that of the bandit army’s First Fleet!

Barbarossa, who had been roaming in the Mars Star System, had sent back detailed intelligence on the Demon’s Eye Fleet. From the intelligence, it was clear that Steelman’s actions were a result of some issue at his base, forcing him to rush to his base, ignoring the current threats from the Northern Alliance to the last remaining spaceports of the Tai Sect and the Bullfighter Mercenary Group.
