Counterfeit Hero

If it weren’t for the massive hole in the street-side wall that the Bandit Army mecha used to transport machines, no one would believe that this was done by humans!

A bunch of elder scientific monsters, with tears streaming down their faces, trembled as they said to the students beside them, ”Decades ago, when our studio first bought this floor, it wasn’t as clean as it is now....”

The high-profile actions of the Bandit Army immediately alerted all of Silicon Valley.

The 200-kilometer-long raid had already become earth-shattering news at Mars Free Port, with everyone watching the final destination of the Bandit Army. What the countless scientists in Silicon Valley didn’t expect was that the ultimate destination was right here!

Watching the usually arrogant and domineering Armed Guard of the Kasi Youth Party standing pitifully by the roadside, watching the murderous Bandit Army mechas on the streets, watching the Imagination Technology Building being blown open with a huge hole, and the Bandit Army mechas and soldiers rapidly transporting the equipment of Black Devil Studio, left countless scientists still lingering in Silicon Valley exchanging bewildered glances.

Immediately, Belchi’s phone was overwhelmed with calls.

”Belchi, what’s going on?” asked a Mechanical Master, who had always been good friends with Belchi, his voice full of uncontainable shock.

”Oh, nothing much,” said the old fellow, his dark face glowing with unconcealable joy, ”We were invited to Puluo Town. The Bandit Army came specifically to fetch us. See, they’re helping us move the equipment, replicating the studio exactly as it is!”

”Holy shit!” The good friend Mechanical Master couldn’t believe his ears, ”You mean they made such a big fuss, coming all this way just to pick up a few wastes like you guys?!”

”Hahahaha.” Normally, Belchi and this Mechanical Master would argue until the cows come home, but today he was exceptionally gracious, not at all offended, ”What’s the matter, Shi Chengling, feeling jealous?”

”Jealous, my ass!” Mechanical Master Shi Chengling fumed, ”What’s so great about it.....”

”Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance!” Belchi interrupted Shi Dongling leisurely, ”If you want to come with us, better hurry up! There are more people waiting to talk to me!”

”...Damn you, just wait! I’ll be right there!”

Belchi hung up, completely satisfied, glancing at the mini-phone display showing hundreds of waiting calls, his face glowing as he pressed the call button.

”Yes...they came specifically for us!”

Belchi proudly continued the calls, and similar scenes were happening to every member of the Black Devil Studio. Almost everyone who knew them was calling, asking what exactly happened. Many even rushed outside the Imagination Technology Building, clustering and desperately questioning each other to find out what was going on.

Every member of Black Devil Studio was surrounded, even the cleaning staff weren’t spared.

When people learned that the uproar caused by the Bandit Army’s raid on Mars was to fetch the members of Black Devil Studio, the expressions on their faces were a spectacle to behold.

Envy, jealousy, sighs, excitement, shock, horror, contemplation, and more.

And for all the members of Black Devil Studio, the only word to describe their feelings at this moment was pride! Watching the envious eyes of other studio members, Belchi and the group of elderly scientific monsters all blushed with excitement, their eyes shining and spirits uplifted! Even the cleaning staff stood with their chests puffed out, feeling proud.

What people didn’t know was that the happiest person in the Imagination Technology Building was a sleazy Fatty.

Upon receiving the list of personnel requesting to go to Puluo Town together, Tian Xingjian could hardly stop grinning. Looking at the magnetic instrument in his right hand and the list squeezed in his left, Fatty felt that at this moment, he was a legendary nouveau riche.

Eleven famous laboratories, over thirty top mechanical masters, more than two hundred renowned experts in various fields, over a thousand researchers - oh my God, what a treasure trove!

Not even Leray, let alone combining Binart Empire and Feiyang Republic together, could assemble such a research team!

Bear in mind, these people were not just ordinary scientists from official national research labs; they were madmen, fanatics, scientific monsters, masters, geniuses!

Unlike ordinary scientists, their research fields were crazier, their thoughts more creative, unrestrained by mainstream human society. They came from every corner of the universe, and each was a renowned and famous master in their respective fields!

They came to the Free World for various reasons, never expecting to all be swept up by me!

With his chubby face squeezed into two slits for eyes and his mouth nearly reaching his ears from grinning, Fatty looked nothing like a human, snickering and almost cackling.

Seeing the eagerly anticipating scientists as if looking at individual human-shaped treasures.

Damn it, how much would it cost to sell these guys! These are the highest intellectual elites of mankind, the absolute cream of the crop! Even if their looks weren’t impressive, couldn’t fetch a high price, locking them up in a room to masturbate and sell their sperm around the clock, these bastards could bring in a fortune!

******

While Fatty was grinning lecherously, Folman was on the verge of collapse. To him, this was an unprecedented catastrophe!
