Counterfeit Hero

”Of course, I’m sure.” Fatty’s characteristic vanity surfaced again: ”Isn’t it just a few node problems and material commonality issues? These are minor details. Although the coordination problem with the engine is a bit tricky, for me, it’s no big deal.”

”What did you say?” Belchi couldn’t believe his ears, and his black face, with its graying beard, immediately darkened. Before he could say anything more, there was a commotion around him.

”Bullshit! Minor issues?”

”Looks like a bragging idiot!”

”I, Hei Ge, can’t figure it out, and no one else dares to say they can in front of me!”

A group of scientific eccentrics, whose pride had been greatly provoked, jumped up in a fury and started shouting incoherently.

There were a few issues with the magnetic instrument that they hadn’t solved. Posting it online in the Free World scientific community’s implicit rules was essentially a kind of challenge.

On one hand, it was to showcase their research capabilities and challenge the levels of other scholars. On the other hand, it was also their way of exchanging and cooperating.

Unexpectedly, after more than a year, their follow-up research still hadn’t resolved the issues, and now, out of nowhere, this clueless Fatty appeared, saying everything was no problem and trivial.

Showing off in front of Lu Ban and brandishing a big knife in front of Lord Guan. This naive Fatty was like a toad opening its big mouth! What arrogance!

”Hey... hey...” The Fatty on the virtual screen turned embarrassedly to a beautiful woman: ”See, I told the truth, and these guys got all worked up...”

”The truth?!” The scientific eccentrics were even more furious. They could let other things go, but when it came to their research projects, they had to stand their ground!

Seeing the woman standing next to Fatty on the screen, Belchi was stunned.

”Wait a minute!” Belchi stopped his companions from their spitting denunciations, looked at Fatty carefully, and asked, ”Can you explain in detail?”

”No!” Fatty shook his head quickly.

”Damn it...” The group of eccentrics around Belchi rolled up their sleeves, ready to continue their outburst.

But Fatty leisurely said: ”However, I’ve seen your other published products and unsolved problems, and I can give you some pointers.”

This was beyond arrogance!

The scientific eccentrics were so angry that they felt dizzy and their eyes blurred. If it weren’t for Belchi unusually keeping them in check, they would have jumped through the screen and dragged this idiot out for a beating.

At the very least, the old men would have spat on that dead Fatty’s face and humiliated him thoroughly.

”Let’s start with your K-21 Lava Heart Mecha engine.” Fatty ignored the old guys, looking smugly at the screen’s engine parameters and schematics, saying: ”The design of this engine is indeed clever. The dual-chamber rotary power cabin allows the chemical engine’s kinetic energy to continuously accelerate through the ion auxiliary engine circuit, ultimately using the kinetic energy storage cabin as the main power supply. It’s energy-efficient and powerful. Not bad, not bad.”

”Damn it...” Hei Ge, the engine’s designer, glared and fumed: ”Just say ’but’!”

”But...” Fatty laughed: ”Under such a load, the power storage device probably won’t last long, will it?”

Hei Ge’s face froze. What Fatty said was precisely the unresolved issue with this engine, pinpointed exactly!

”Here’s a suggestion...” Fatty, still smug, continued: ”Change the ion auxiliary engine’s acceleration circuit to a dual circuit, connecting directly to the power cabin with Mahier Composite Tubes for power diversion. Finally, merge with the auxiliary engine’s kinetic energy in a counterbalance manner, replacing the kinetic energy storage cabin’s energy aggregation role. What do you think?”

In the Black Devil Studio’s hall, everyone was speechless.

The short Hei Ge’s mouth was so wide open it could fit an egg. In the silence, the increasingly quick heartbeat of this irritable old man could almost be heard.

Suddenly, Hei Ge bolted into his private workshop. With a sound of the door closing, the workshop erupted into a series of frantic sounds.

No further explanation was needed. Everyone present was an expert in the field. What Fatty suggested, though not yet tested, was theoretically entirely feasible!

The reason Hei Ge hadn’t found a solution was that his dual-chamber rotary power cabin design was his proud creation. He hadn’t even considered direct power diversion in the power cabin. Even if he had, he soon discarded the idea. The obscure Mahier Composite Tubes required a deep understanding of Mecha engines to even think of, let alone the masterstroke with the counterbalance.

”Next, let’s discuss the shipborne optical navigation deviation correction instrument...” Fatty crossed his legs, holding a cup of coffee with a proud look. This device, he had once seen in the Capital First Military Academy’s warehouse. Although slightly different, the basic principles were the same. It wasn’t difficult to bluff using the clever aspects of the one he had seen.

”Hmm, and this, the automatic repair armor...”

Fatty continued speaking animatedly, while the scientific eccentrics grew increasingly dumbfounded, their faces turning more unsightly.

A group averaging over fifty years old, lifelong experts in their respective fields, highly renowned wherever they went, were being schooled by a Fatty in his twenties! The most infuriating part was that what Fatty casually mentioned was precisely their blind spots!

As they listened more and more, the scientific eccentrics felt more and more alarmed. Their gaze at Fatty turned as if looking at the biggest monstrosity in the world.

This guy, just in his twenties, could casually mention things spanning countless disciplines, and without considerable mastery and genius-level thinking, such ease was impossible!

Who is this Fatty?

”Enough!” Belchi waved his hand, interrupting Fatty’s incessant chatter: ”General Tian Xingjian, your reputation precedes you. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Now it was Fatty’s turn to be shocked. His eyes widened, and the fat on his face twitched: ”You know me?”

Belchi smiled: ”I’m a Leray person. Although, for certain reasons, I ended up here, Leray is still my homeland, where my friends and family are. I often read Leray news online.” Belchi said, performing a gentlemanly bow to Helen beside Fatty: ”The ’Hero’ show is my favorite. Miss Helen is my idol.”

”One of us!” Fatty exclaimed excitedly: ”Since we’re all Leray people, I’ll skip the pleasantries. So, you’ll give me that thing?”

Give it to him?

The group stared blankly. They’d seen shamelessness, but nothing like this. Turning a transaction into a free gift in the blink of an eye.

”Alas...” Belchi shrugged, spreading his hands regretfully: ”Originally, giving it to you wouldn’t be a problem. But now, even if we wanted to, we can’t!”

”Why?” Fatty was frantic. That item mustn’t fall into others’ hands.

”The studio has received a final warning. If we don’t leave within six hours, everyone will be dead.” Belchi said: ”Moreover, everything here has been forcibly sealed by others, and we have no authority over it.”

”Damn it!” Fatty exploded in fury: ”I’d like to see who dares!”

On the screen, Fatty’s figure quickly disappeared, leaving only his voice: ”Wait for me, within three hours, I’ll come for you! Damn it, Markovich, notify everyone to assemble immediately, today we’re rescuing people!”
