Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 454: Volume 5 Chapter 60 Unstoppable

Despite feeling extremely humiliated, the Mythical Soldiers faithfully carried out their duties. On their escape south, they used the strength of barely a battalion to protect Reinhardt.

Not only that, but these Vibo people piloting the [Vajra] showcased a resilience unimaginable to ordinary people in this situation. While Reinhardt fled, they resisted.

The proud Vibo people always placed faith and honor above life. These Vibo warriors of the Mythical Army were even more so. In Gazalin, they were the elite, one in ten thousand, the purest Vibo men. From the first day they joined the Mythical Army, they engraved the first rule of never accepting failure into their bones and blood.

The Mythical Soldiers who could unhesitatingly choose to cleanse the shame of failure with death and blood, how could they accept their Legion Commander, their idol, the person they aspired to be, escaping in such a disgraceful manner?

’Is this still our leader? Still that Vibo hero who led the Mythical Army to fight south and north, with firm belief, noble and just?’

Every Mythical Soldier could not accept Reinhardt’s change.

This was another collapse of faith, even more confusing and humiliating for them than the collapse of the Gazalin Empire. The ideological split had gradually emerged. Now, although they still obeyed orders and carried out their duties, no one could stop them from choosing another way to express their anger.

One [Vajra] after another left the team, turning to block the unstoppable [Magic Beast]. This almost suicidal move appeared particularly tragic against the backdrop of mechas fleeing everywhere and with the silence of every [Vajra].

Since Reinhardt was running away, let the ordinary Mythical Soldiers step out to vindicate the Vibo people! Unfortunately, they encountered a heartless Fatty who adhered to the ruthless beating of the fallen.

Fatty didn’t care about their heroism. The jerk kept cursing. The tattered [Magic Beast] sped along with his loud curses: ’Reinhardt, I’ve said it so many times, you motherfucker are still running?’ Fatty complained angrily, feeling somewhat wronged: ’Shameless! Thick-skinned!’

At this moment, Fatty was like an upstart. The enhancement of his hand speed had taken his mecha martial arts to a new height. This height was unimaginable for many. For Fatty, who had been pursued by Reinhardt not long ago, not bullying back with his newfound strength was really a disservice to himself.

In the slaughter on the hills, there was a bit of showing off. He instantly defeated three Level 8 Mecha Warriors and a Level 9 Mecha Warrior with ease. That wonderful feeling made Fatty tremble with excitement.

It was so damn satisfying, he wanted more!

Fatty was already addicted. This feeling was like a virgin who had just conquered a beautiful woman for the first time in his life, tasting the marrow and discovering his extraordinary virility, naturally feeling immensely heroic and murderous.

Facing such a guy seeking endless climax, how could the Mythical Soldiers fare well?

Another platoon of [Vajras] turned around, and [Logic] narrowly avoided the pincer attack of two [Vajras] in a split second. Its mechanical arms waved inconceivably like waves, shaking off the tens-of-tons [Vajras] as if they were just two bags of cotton.

The [Vajra] that lunged afterward hesitated briefly, then rushed forward again. After witnessing this [Magic Beast] instantly killing three major commanders, nothing could surprise them anymore.

As the two airborne [Vajras] crashed to the ground, Fatty’s fingers swiftly danced across the virtual keyboard at a speed of seventy moves per second, turning his fingers into a phantom. The tattered [Magic Beast] engine let out a sharp whistle, rolled up spinning dust, and without a moment’s pause, rammed into the [Vajra] mecha group.

The [Vajra] mecha group, attempting to form a defensive formation, didn’t even have the chance to block. In an instant, the [Magic Beast] broke into their formation. Fatty’s movements were very straightforward. With the Wave Riding Skill combined with the Dragon Claw Hand, the [Magic Beast] fought from north to south in the dense mecha group, unstoppable wherever it went.

From a bird’s-eye view, the advance route of the [Magic Beast] was like a dividing line, shooting through countless mechas without stopping. The dense [Vajra] mecha group was brutally split into two halves.

In the midst of waves and slashes, one [Vajra] after another was violently grabbed by the [Magic Beast], punched, and then thrown out. One by one, the mechas rolled over their comrades’ heads and crashed heavily outside the formation like waves crashing over a ship’s bow.

The tens-of-tons steel mechas crashed to the ground with a tremendous noise, kicking up flying dust. The entire ground trembled with this vibration.

Whether it was a Sixth-level Mecha Warrior or a Level 7 Mecha Warrior, in front of the [Magic Beast], they were like children with no ability to resist. Their proud manipulation and hand speed, combat experience in the hail of bullets, the diligently trained mecha killer moves, all turned into decoration at this moment. No one could even make a dodging move under the bizarre grab of the [Magic Beast].

The more they fought, the more disheartened the Mythical Soldiers became.

This blow was not just physical, but also psychological. The mecha combat of the Magic Beast had already surpassed all the Mythical Soldiers’ understanding. They had never seen such a fighting style! Nor had they ever encountered such a hateful opponent.

While Fatty kept picking up and tossing the surrounding Vajras like they were nothing, he said, ”Isn’t this move awesome? This is the legendary ’Disgrace!’ ”

”Boom!” Magic Beast picked up a Vajra, swung it like a windmill, and smashed it into two other Vajras with a mighty crash. The two Vajras hit rolled away twisted and distorted, while the one in his hand had its chest and abdomen completely deformed, beyond recognition.

Magic Beast hurled the scrap metal in his hand towards an oncoming Vajra, then spun in mid-air and kicked at the chest of another Vajra trying to ambush him from behind. The kick drove the outer armor and attached modules straight into the cockpit.

The caved-in chest suddenly emitted a dim, bloody mist, and the Mythical Soldier inside the cockpit was crushed into a pulp, sealed in the shattered transparent capsule, as the mecha fell with a thunderous crash.

Two more Vajras attacked from the left and right sides. Magic Beast, still spinning in mid-air, made an unexpected maneuver, as if stepping onto an invisible staircase, propelling himself skyward once again.

The two descending Vajras lost their target in an instant and could only watch as the eerie Magic Beast rolled and shot towards the mecha group’s periphery like a surface-to-air missile. After smashing the outermost Vajra into pieces, he leaped a few more times, leaving all intercepting Vajras far behind.

The Mythical Soldiers stood in a daze, no longer pursuing. They let Magic Beast run farther and farther away, and behind them, a large number of Leray Mecha surged forward.

A reinforced platoon of nearly fifty mechas remained only half its original strength in less than five minutes. Even if these Mythical Soldiers fought bravely to the death, they couldn’t stop Magic Beast’s advance.

What was the point of continuing the pursuit? Who could even catch up with that bizarrely stepping, unpredictable wreck of a mecha?

Everyone understood that Magic Beast’s strength had reached an unimaginable level. Any attempt to block it was as futile as ants trying to stop a cart, leaving every self-proclaimed elite Mythical Soldier in despair.

Is this the difference?

Was the one inside Magic Beast a Level 9 or Level 10 Mecha Warrior?

If Reinhardt was a myth among Gazalin Mecha Warriors, then what was this Magic Beast, which he couldn’t withstand even a single move from?

From a distance, that guy’s howl came again: ”Glorious Reinhardt, gather your spirit, and face the fate of a warrior. Fight on!”

Outer space of Biekelan Planet.

The once bustling Dock No. 5 was no longer prosperous. The material base, customs building, military barracks, and living quarters had become ruins filled with corpses. The iconic navigation tower was reduced to a short, crumbling remnant. The metal combined docking bay that could accommodate hundreds of ships had been broken into dozens of fragments, floating silently in space.

Several military transport ships and two destroyers, docked at the pier, had turned into heaps of wreckage, occasionally exploding due to oxygen and energy leaks. Box missile launch tubes and giant energy cannons on the defensive positions, as primary targets, had melted into heaps of scrap metal in the first round of attacks.

The only thing still moving at the entire dock was a surviving rectangular radar, stubbornly rotating and emitting a piercing alarm.

In the vast sky, the enormous warships of the Southeast Expeditionary Army densely filled every visible space above Dock No. 5. They moved slowly, with the dock’s still-burning lights reflecting off their black and silver metallic hulls and the giant energy cannon barrels.

Silent yet imposing. (To be continued. To find out what happens next, please visit www.qidian.com. More Chapters available. Support the author, support legitimate reading!)
