Chapter 496: Volume 6 Chapter 5 You Shouldn’t Have Provoked Her (Part 2)

In less than ten minutes, the Tanville Hotel was surrounded by troops that had rushed over. Dozens of Feiyang Ninth Generation [Heaven’s Punishment] Human-shaped Single Soldier Mechas were stationed at every intersection of the Sixth District. Over three hundred Gazalin soldiers had filled every corner around the hotel, making it impenetrable. All onlookers were driven away to several hundred meters away.

Douglas stood with a grim expression outside the main entrance of the Tanville Hotel. In front of him, dozens of Gazalin soldiers and two mechas had just withdrawn.

The order came from Fiscella personally. Even though Douglas couldn’t understand why, and despite the fact that the infantry could easily storm the hotel lobby under the cover of the mechas, he still had to obey orders.

Fiscella’s reason, explained languidly via the video communicator, was: ”General Tian is still inside the hotel, and we must ensure General Tian’s complete safety. We cannot overly provoke the bandits, to prevent them from acting out in desperation.”

However, regarding Douglas’s report on the fierce battle inside the hotel and the low probability of hostages being taken by the bandits, Fiscella ignored it. He turned his head to discuss other matters with several military staff in his office.

Douglas could only order the attack forces to retreat, staring blankly at the hotel.

Douglas was a pure Feiyang soldier, proud, arrogant, with a heart full of ambition for success. He focused on military affairs, but that didn’t mean he knew nothing about intrigue.

Douglas knew what arrangements the Expeditionary Army Headquarters and Feiyang had made for the Leray Armored Force led by Tian Xingjian. He also knew that for the sake of national interests, such arrangements were neither right nor wrong. The country’s interests were above everything; this was a phrase drilled into Douglas’s mind since his first day as a soldier.

However, this major general who had been dismissed and was about to be repatriated to the Leray Federation, this ”Fatty” whom Fiscella had coldly discarded with a high-sounding reason, was precisely Douglas’s benefactor!

It was this Fatty who agreed to his request, enduring hundreds of hours of hard battle with inferior forces to hold Long Line Ridge and even defeat Reinhardt’s group. It was also he who, at the most critical moment, infiltrated enemy lines alone to assassinate Stephen, completely dismantling the Stephen Group.

Although he was once forced to let go of Prisk, the Nineteen Division never ceased to contain the Desic Armored Division!

And even before the battle had begun, he had pointed out the inadequacies in the Mezrich Battlefield’s troop strength during tactical discussions. In fact, the entire campaign developed according to his predictions. Had his advice been heeded initially, with the addition of four more armored divisions, the situation at Mezrich would never have been so dire!

After the battle, Douglas once chatted with several division commanders of the Feiyang Armored Division about the situation in the Mezrich battle’s eastern and western zones. They all confessed, if they had been in Major General Tian Xingjian’s and the Nineteen Division’s position, no one could have done better!

The strategic plan was proposed by the Expeditionary Army Staff, yet in the end, Tian Xingjian had to take the blame. Douglas felt deeply apologetic. However, the country’s interests were not something that personal feelings could influence. Douglas understood this point clearly.

But now, watching an outstanding general in danger and ignoring him, Douglas felt a deep anger from his heart!

Tian Xingjian was not a leader from an enemy country. To Douglas, he was an excellent commander, an army general with a genius foresight. His death did not serve the Fei Alliance’s interests!

Douglas knew that after Fiscella had a conversation with Tian Xingjian, he smashed his favorite cup. This was nothing more than a casual act of revenge by this notable Feiyang general.

A single word, a seemingly dignified reason, can ruin a person! Do all soldiers need to have hearts of stone? On the battlefield, sacrificing for victory was understandable to Douglas. But to strike such a poisonous blow over a personal grudge, in what way was Fiscella different from those politicians he and the military department always despised?

”General!” A Feiyang Army Captain saluted Douglas: ”The people from the Nineteen Division are here, and they’re very agitated, demanding to see you immediately.”

The seventh floor of the hotel was already in shambles. The corridor’s paintings, walls, and room doors were riddled with bullet holes.

Milan, Nia, and two Leray warriors had already reached the eighth floor.

Faced with interception from above and assault from below, it seemed that none of them were concerned about their own safety. They had only one thought, to keep moving upward. For Milan and Nia, the safety of their beloved was paramount. For the two Leray warriors, their division commander’s safety was their life. No matter what, they must reach the eleventh floor!

Nia was holding her personal [Yulian] small-caliber pistol. It was roughly palm-sized, a typical close-range self-defense weapon for women.

As a former fighter jet pilot, Nia had received rigorous training in shooting. Although she couldn’t compare to the two Leray warriors armed with [Clement], she still provided critical cover at crucial moments.

And the most astonishing thing for everyone was undoubtedly Milan, wielding an oversized antique gun. Ever since Milan drew her gun, Nia and the two Leray warriors felt like they were going crazy.

This classically ugly broom-handle gun, though less powerful than [Clement], was definitely an outlier among handguns. Shooting twenty No. 9 energy bullets per second, its firepower was astonishing. With such a gun, who in the world had such a deep vendetta against Milan?

No wonder she’s the division commander’s woman. The two Leray warriors felt enlightened. To be able to create such a fierce energy launch structure within the flat body of a broom-handle gun was simply a miracle. The vibrant girl wielding this ugly gun was a threat to all humankind.

Milan fired without aiming!

”Bang!” ”Bang!” ”Bang!” Milan’s hand swung wildly.

A warrior of the Howard family, with eyes not closing in death, tumbled down from the stairs. His body had over a dozen holes shot into it.

The two Leray warriors, who were changing their energy magazines, were drenched in sweat. This was already the fourth unlucky soul to fall under the broom-handle gun. Seeing his wide-eyed expression, surely a seasoned warrior like him never imagined he would one day be shot to death by a woman firing wildly.

Milan’s gun was remarkably deceptive. Each shot from the broom-handle gun produced a crisp, classical sound. One shot at a time, seeming very slow. But only when you faced this gun would you realize how many energy bullets were fired with that single ”bang”!

It was like splashing water!

Coupled with Milan’s near-magical ”blind shooting,” even the most elite warriors couldn’t withstand such devastation. The four warriors dead under Milan’s gunfire were all those who, hearing [Clement] go silent, attempted to rush in and snag a cheap victory. Instead, they were snatched by Milan.

The energy bullets showered by the broom-handle gun, when combined with Milan’s Chaotic Cloak Gun Skill, could block the entire corridor in an instant. Shooting from a distance wouldn’t work, but in the corridor, it was simply divine!

”Where are the men I asked to come up?” Ritter gripped the communicator, roaring furiously. At that moment, he resembled a wild beast caged in fury. The entire hotel was surrounded; if he didn’t seize hostages now that the Feiyang people would be concerned about, no one here would fucking escape.

Yet the reinforcements from below had yet to appear. The B-zone stairs and elevators were all under their control, so what the hell had happened?

Four family warriors surrounded Ritter, retreating step by step upstairs. In contrast to the fierce firepower of [Clement], the few [Ivanov]s they held seemed so frail.

Ritter stumbled up a few steps, firing desperately with his gun. Anger, helplessness, fear, and despair intertwined, staining his eyes blood-red.

Despite being attacked from both above and below by more than a dozen family warriors, they failed not only to capture those two women but could not even lift their heads under the opponent’s intense firepower. Of the six family warriors initially by his side, only two remained. Including the two warriors previously blocking the staircase, there were only four in total.

These four warriors, along with himself, could only huddle at the stairwell corner, using their meager firepower to withstand the onslaught of two [Clement]s!

Ritter could never have imagined that the two Leray soldiers wielding the [Clement] automatic assault rifles were actually special soldiers highly proficient in urban close-combat! Whether in terms of single-soldier combat capability or mutual cover and coordination, they were overwhelmingly powerful.

In this hotel, as long as their guns still had energy, no one could appear within their sight! The family’s most elite warriors, in merely a few minutes of direct confrontation, lost their lives one after another due to underestimation of the enemy.

And that woman wielding an ugly gun and firing wildly, of the eight warriors lying on the seventh-floor staircase, half were killed by her!

What the hell is going on here!
