Beneath the Red Dragon

”Even a person of pure heart, who never forgets to pray at night, may transform into a wolf on the night when the Aconite blooms under the full moon.”

The leader of the Imperial Guard, Chiliarch, Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha strolled through the now much quieter Golden City at dusk, he tilted his head to gaze at the rising round moon, enjoying the peaceful and orderly life.

This was his moment of respite. In fact, the three hundred fifty Imperial Guard Warriors were divided into tens, with dozens of teams of Imperial Guard Warriors always taking turns to stand guard, thus their vacations were more frequent than one might imagine.

”Another year of the full moon night, I wonder where my tribe has migrated to now,”

Wolfman Saha mused aloud. After settling in the Dragon Group Territory, he sent messages via Ravensoaks to his original Wolfman Tribe, from which he had lost contact due to the war with the Gata Empire.

As the War Leader within the tribe, Saha advised the Wolfman Tribe elders to migrate the entire tribe into the territory of the Giant Dragons. He had received a letter from the tribe elders, knowing they had agreed to his suggestion and were integrating on the migration path.

However, to this day, he still hasn’t seen his tribe’s Wolfmen appear on this land. Yet, recently, Wolfman Saha’s sensitive nose has detected many scents from his kin in the air.

It was the scent of Wolfmen; even if these Wolfmen could transform into human form, they could not hide before their kind’s noses.

In fact, Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha could also transform into human form. However, like the various conflicting opinions within human factions, the Twelve Wolfman Clans are also divided into different factions, making them extremely complex.

Wolfman Saha was one of those who revered the natural original form, disliking transforming into human form.

Of course, there are also some peculiar Wolfmen, cursed to transform into Wolfmen from humans or humanoid creatures. These Wolfmen lack the ability to freely revert to human form.

Moreover, these peculiar Wolfmen struggle to control the Wild Power that comes from the cursed Wolfmen, and every full moon night loses control, becoming extraordinarily agitated, leading to slaughter.

This group of Wolfmen is the most likely to be rejected and hunted by human and other racial cultures, now difficult to find in the gathering spots of various races.

There are also Wolfmen who are naturally born as wolves, who insufficiently control their Wild Power and would uncontrollably transform into Wolfmen on the full moon night, causing slaughter.

However, these Wolfmen fare better, as their originating Wolfman Tribes always protect these fledgling Wolfmen well.

Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha followed the scent of his kin, navigating through streets and alleys, finally discovering marks from other kin in a dark corner.

These were badges representing the Wolfman Clan, and in this corner, nine different clan insignias were engraved upon it, spreading an invisible summoning signal that drew Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha here.

Nine badges belong to the Nine Wolfman Clans, including the Fenris Clan, skilled in surviving the harsh environments.

Barbaric and fond of slaughter, they revered fatalism and were the most inclined to use military might and force among Wolfman Tribes.

The Fiona Clan, whose Wolfmen possess exceedingly unrestrained passion and artistic insight, even producing Minstrels and some extraordinarily powerful Wolfman Warriors.

The Invisibility Clan, which likes to transform into humans, hiding in the gathering spots of various races, like wolves in flocks of sheep.

This clan has an affinity for human cities and culture, leading to difficulty in gaining sincere trust from other Wolfman Clans.

The Shadow Wolf Heart Clan is quite similar to the Invisibility Clan, both preferring to hide within human civilized nations.

The difference is that the Shadow Wolf Heart Clan extends its power more into the political sphere, revering sociopolitical strength and likes to use diplomatic means and ruthless intrigues to achieve its goals.

Additionally, there is the Blood Claw Clan, which venerates vengeance and the White Holy Bone Tribe, which reveres using enemy bones as a symbol of their power growth.

Along with the Yuktena Clan, fond of studying Souls and Magic, producing rare Wolfman Mages and Warlocks, unlike other clans passionate about power-oriented Wolfman Warriors.

And the Stepper Clan, who likes to wander and roam around the world, valuing an unsettled free life.

Also the Silver Fang Tribe, the most widespread among the Wolfman Tribes, once indisputable rulers among the Wolfman species.

Many great Wolfman warriors in history hailed from this tribe, and the tribe where Wolfman Saha was born was one of the major branch tribes of this clan.

Only three remaining Wolfman Clans have not arrived, namely the Wendigo Clan, which prefers living in remote areas rarely contacting other races, having its survival circle.

And the Kaya Clan, who likes to use gentle means, often appearing as mediators and negotiators, inclined towards healing and ending bloody battles and animosity between Wolfmen and other species in its clan. They also hold goodwill towards other intelligent species.

A special clan, Female Fury Clan, almost entirely consisting of female Wolfmen.
