Beneath the Red Dragon

”Hehe, turn right at the first room,” the Dragon Descendant Giant Demon chuckled deeply, the sound resonating within the heavy face armor, as he laughed, ”There’s no danger inside, just a group of mages and eccentric scholars who love research!”

How long does it take to cultivate a top-notch scholar and research mage?

It’s not much different from training a top scientist, at least twenty years to start.

And by the time all the knowledge is almost learned, they haven’t yet created new branches of knowledge or broken through existing shackles. They are then limited by the onset of middle-age weakness in both body and mind.

The longer a civilization develops, the more knowledge it needs to learn, but the peak period and lifespan of most people, including mages, do not increase. They are unable to achieve the brilliant accomplishments they should be due to the limitations of lifespan and body.

Clearly, there are countless treasures of knowledge waiting to be unlocked in the mind, but they are obliterated by a short lifespan. Thus, the civilization of most worlds can only wait over long spans for those rare geniuses, shining like meteors, to achieve breakthroughs in a very short time.

Therefore, Karon instructed Blue Dragon Doss to implement a plan—King of Knowledge.

Everyone who reaches the peak in any field of knowledge will be listed as a backup target by the Dragon Group Territory. As long as they are willing to be loyal to the Giant Dragon, the Giant Dragon will extend their lifespan and restore them to their peak.

The ancient Magic Empire had Magic Kings, and Karon’s future empire will have Wise Kings.

Of course, although the fruit of the Tree of Life can achieve this effect, the output of the Tree of Life is limited each year, and these treasures are also useful to the Giant Dragons, so originally this plan was difficult to achieve.

The basis for this plan’s success lies in Ticky, the Magic Alchemist whom Karon glimpsed in a moment of brilliance and then bought from the orc slaves.

Magic Alchemist Ticky is only a Low Tier Mage, but he has lived for two hundred years.

His entire body, except for his bones, skin, and skull, has had nearly all internal organs replaced by himself, which is why although he looks like an old man in his seventies, his internal life force is more vibrant than that of an eighteen-year-old youth.

However, since the internal organs come from different types of creatures, over long-term conflict, this alchemical transformation fanatic was tormented to a point worse than death, and that Low Tier Mage power was consumed in maintaining internal organ conflicts.

So this alchemical transformation fanatic turned to study another direction, bloodline modification adaptation, and ultimate bloodline evolution.

For this, he secretly hunted many intelligent races, extracting their bloodlines, went to the island continent of the Beastman Kingdom, lured the bloodlines of those ancient beastmen, and extracted their blood for research.

For humans, the blood of beastmen is more compatible, and Ticky quickly identified his target. Of course, primarily due to Ticky’s strength, only beastmen were his choice since it required many samples for research, and other intelligent races are quite exclusive, which he couldn’t handle.

Although he achieved some results, he was captured because he recruited a female beastman to test a new large bird he replaced himself but didn’t give enough reward.

At that time, Karon found this reason rather amusing and could only surmise that talented individuals may all have some quirks of their own, and this alchemical transformation fanatic’s quirks are nothing compared to some especially twisted ones.

After studying this alchemical transformation fanatic’s achievements, Karon finally confirmed this plan.

Ticky will also use his research achievements to prove that the manufactured dragon-blood potion will gradually help the transformed individuals adapt to this power, improve endurance, and also gain some diluted enhancement, including power and lifespan.

If needed, Karon could later bestow dragon blood to those loyal warriors, and the success rate will greatly increase, no longer as before, requiring extremely strong willpower and luck.

Thus, after Ticky swore loyalty to the Giant Dragon and signed a pact of eternal loyalty, he received the first Life Fruit given by Karon, healing this transformation fanatic’s body, reconciling the conflicts in his internal organs, and restoring him to youth.

Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu didn’t know what kind of transformation fanatic he was about to face, but when he was led into the laboratory as an assistant to an apprentice assigned here by the Dragon Group, he couldn’t help but feel a chill run through him.

The rejuvenated Ticky was engrossed behind complex magic instruments, but Yougu’s gaze wasn’t on him, instead at the countless swollen various reproductive organs soaked in laboratory potions.

Even Yougu, powerful enough to challenge a young Red Dragon, couldn’t help but feel a cool breeze blowing from his lower body.

The mighty warrior Yougu helplessly watched the apprentice quietly close the door and leave. He cleared his throat, somewhat stumbling, and greeted the scholar who looked so earnest in his research, ”Is it Ticky...Master Ticky? I come by the order of my king, who has permitted the deed you are to undertake!”

”Ah, the generous Giant Dragon Lord finally remembered his loyal and eager subordinate,” the young Ticky excitedly raised his head, with a pair of crystal glasses perched on his nose, flashing a particularly cold light in Yougu’s eyes.

”What good news, Jackal-Wolf Man, you’ve brought me luck. I’ve decided to grant you a request. I hear the birds of your kind aren’t large. How about I switch one out for you,”

Ticky’s exploratory eyes appeared more invasive than a Giant Dragon’s inspection, moving over Yougu’s entire body, especially the lower part, chillingly.

”I tell you, I’ve tried dozens of birds, and found donkeys and horses best suited, though they’re just ordinary beasts, their structure is particularly marvelous,”

Ticky excitingly rubbed his hands, then affectionately grabbing the leg-shaky Yougu, he smiled, ”Let’s do it now. After all, that red beast won’t run away, we’ll have time to go after the surgery,”

This alchemical transformation fanatic chatted incessantly, ”I tell you, that young Red Dragon is simply unworthy of being the same species as the noble ruler, Lord Karon, it’s like a simple wise beast,”

”Last time, all I wanted was to peek at the dragon bird’s structure, and it wanted to eat me. Damn it, why wasn’t it as polite as Lord Karon!”

Jackal-Wolf Man Yougu was sweating coldly, feeling his visit was perhaps a mistake. He worried that the young Red Dragon might take him down too.

”Oh, don’t worry. I’ve got Lord Karon’s permission to specially develop a potion targeting Giant Dragons. Once injected, even a young Red Dragon will become weak-limbed, ready for me to touch, oh no, extract blood.”

Ticky saw Yougu’s concern and continued talking, ”The premise is that it needs to be injected, which will depend on you, to first confuse it, then surprise it. Tsk tsk, what a wonderful idea.”

Yougu no longer wanted to stay in this lab, as Ticky’s hands were already starting to act unruly, so he hurriedly ran out of the lab, shouting, ”Forget it, Ticky... Master Ticky, let’s first complete the king’s mandate!”

Ticky chuckled, brought out a large box from behind, carried it, and chased after him.

Long after, a resounding dragon’s cry suddenly echoed from the mountain canyon.

”I want to see Karon; I, Kaidelos, am also a Giant Dragon. I, Kaidelos, am also a Red Dragon. I, Kaidelos, can be loyal too!”
