Alchemy Master

Chapter 342, Absolutely No Second Thought

“Since this object is so sinister, Master Qin, please throw it away quickly!”

Hearing the terrifying words ‘Soul Devouring Jade’, Xia Zelei’s expression changed as he hurriedly advised. He did not want to bring harm to Qin Yichen.

“While this object is indeed harmful to ordinary people, for Human Grade Alchemy Masters and above, it’s an invaluable cultivation item.” Qin Yichen spoke directly without hiding anything: “If Your Highness is willing, how about giving this object to me?”

“This…” Xia Zelei hesitated, not because he was reluctant to part with it, but because he worried this thing would harm Qin Yichen. However, seeing the latter’s solemn expression, he nodded. After all, even if Qin Yichen did not take it, he would not dare keep it anymore.

“Master Qin, since you’ve helped Ziyi and cured Xinqing’s illness, please tell me what you want. As long as it’s within my power, I, Xia Zelei, will do it without having a second thought.”

Living up to his title as the Carefree Prince, although Xia Zelei knew Qin Yichen helped him with ulterior motives, he showed no hesitation at this moment and directly asked.

“It’s simple. I want Your Highness to fully support the Seventh Princess, Xia Zilin.” Qin Yichen smiled and frankly stated.

“Xia Zilin? The Illegitimate Child?”  Hearing this, Xia Zelei’s brows furrowed, then he showed a bitter smile. Indeed, he knew Qin Yichen’s purpose for coming here was not going to be that simple.

Xia Zilin was just a lucky Illegitimate Child of the Emperor, who happened to possess the Heavenly Hu Jiao Martial Soul. This was actually the only reason why she was promoted to becoming the Seventh Princess. However, this would also be her highest honour.

After all, no matter what, she was still an Illegitimate Child. Being granted the title of Seventh Princess was already incredibly fortunate.

“That’s right, and I want her to become the Grand Empire’s Empress.” Qin Yichen nodded and solemnly said.

“Master Qin, you think too highly of me…”

Xia Zelei shook his head and said with a bitter smile: “I can promise to fully support Xia Zilin, but making her the Grand Empire’s Empress isn’t up to me alone.”

Seeing Qin Yichen’s confused expression, Xia Zelei continued: “This isn’t like a decade ago. Back then, indeed, I could have achieved what you wanted with just a call to arms. However, over these years, my Brother, the Emperor, has replaced many important military positions with others. Directly making Xia Zilin the Empress is impossible.”

At this point, Xia Zelei glanced at Qin Yichen’s expression and added: “But Master Qin, you can rest assured. Although I can’t guarantee Xia Zilin will become the Empress right now, with my support, she will definitely be among the top three candidates.”

“Then I’ll have to trouble you in that regard. I’ll have Xia Zilin discuss the details with you.” Qin Yichen nodded. He knew that be it due to her Illegitimate Child status or her being born female, Xia Zilin would face enormous obstacles ahead. Yet despite these factors, Xia Zelei’s unwavering support showed his genuine gratitude to Qin Yichen.

“Your Highness, I shall take my leave then.” Qin Yichen bowed to Xia Zelei and prepared to leave.

Xia Zelei did not insist on him staying, and had Xia Ziyi accompany Qin Yichen back to Alchemy Central.

…

In the main hall of the Li Family Residence.

Li Zhengping sat grimly in the main seat while a spy before him reported Qin Yichen’s whereabouts.

“You say Xia Ziyi took him to the Carefree Prince Residence and he stayed there for half a day?” Li Zhengping’s expression was frighteningly dark, his voice extremely low.

“Yes, after Qin Yichen left Alchemy Central, several of our spies kept watching him. We confirmed he stayed at the Carefree Prince Residence until a quarter hour ago, before he left with Xia Ziyi.”

The spy kept his head lowered as he quickly reported.

“How is this possible!? Even I have never stayed at the Carefree Prince Residence for more than an hour…” Li Zhengping frowned. Even if Qin Yichen recommended Xia Ziyi to Chairman Hai, that should not warrant such treatment.

Suddenly, Li Zhengping’s pupils contracted as he thought of a possibility.

[Impossible! The Carefree Prince’s Wife’s illness has persisted for years. Could this brat have actually treated her condition?] Li Zhengping roared internally, but deep down he felt that besides this possibility, there seemed no other reason for such a young man to stay at the Carefree Prince Residence for so long.

[If he forms ties with the Carefree Prince, it’ll be even harder to eliminate him!] Thinking of this, Li Zhengping slammed the table and abruptly stood up. He could not just wait anymore. He had to take action.

[Isn’t Alchemy Central protecting Qin Yichen? What if Alchemy Central expels him?]

“Prepare a generous gift. I need to personally meet Chairman Lin!”

Li Zhengping painfully gave out this order. If not absolutely necessary, he really did not want to deal with that old fox, who devours people without spitting out their bones.

…

In a private room within Alchemy Central.

Coming out of his cultivation state, Qin Yichen slowly opened his eyes. A terrifying spiritual light flashed through his pupils, showing his Spiritual Energy had improved significantly.

“This cultivation speed! Soul Devouring Jade, you truly live up to your reputation!” Qin Yichen exclaimed in praise as he stored the Soul Devouring Jade in his Space Ring.

Just as he was preparing to leave, noisy arguments could be heard from outside.

“Who dares to argue here?” Qin Yichen’s brows slightly furrowed. His private room was on one of Alchemy Central’s highest floors. It was a place where ordinary Alchemy Masters and even some Alchemy Central Elders were not qualified to enter.

When Qin Yichen opened the door, he was surprised to find the two arguing old men, and they were both quite familiar to him.

One was Chairman Hai, and the other was actually one of Alchemy Central’s two giants of equal fame and status – the other Human Grade Alchemy Master, Chairman Lin!

However, hearing the content of their argument at the doorway, Qin Yichen’s expression became somewhat awkward.

“Old Hai, have you gone senile? Bringing some random youth to Alchemy Central’s top floor – do you think this is your home!?” Chairman Lin complained with dissatisfaction.

“Who I bring here is none of your business!” Chairman Hai angrily responded.

Qin Yichen frowned and looked around, finding Xia Ziyi sheepishly standing by the distant stairs, not daring to make a sound for fear of drawing these two’s anger.

As if sensing Qin Yichen’s emergence, both old men’s gazes turned toward him. However, Chairman Lin’s gaze contained hostility to it.
