Alchemy Master

Chapter 330, An Elder’s Heart

Qin Yichen only needed one glance at the Spirit Medicine this old man had prepared to know what he was trying to make.

However, he did not speak up at this moment. Instead, he quietly stood aside and waited.

The old man was indeed worthy of being the Chairman of Alchemy Central; his Pill refining skills were First Tier. Within the Grand Empire, there probably was not anyone who could match him.

But in Qin Yichen’s eyes, this was nothing to count for, the Technique he used was almost unbearable to watch.

Of course, he had no intention of mocking him, nor disdaining him. After all, in his previous life, Qin Yichen had also received quite a bit of guidance from this old man before him.

“Damn it, I failed again…” The old man looked at the Pill Furnace before him that was boiling almost uncontrollably, grabbing his hair and growling in a low voice.

Clearly, he was developing a new Pill.

The process of developing new Pills was extremely, extremely difficult.

At this point, Qin Yichen moved. He walked to the medicine rack, quickly grabbed several Spirit Medicine, then with lightning speed, lifted the Pill Furnace lid and threw the Spirit Medicine inside. He also casually patted the Pill Furnace a few times with his hand.

“What are you doing!?” The old man who had been grabbing his hair was first stunned seeing this reckless action, then after he reacted, he immediately shouted.

He never imagined that while he was developing a new Pill, someone would dare to barge into his room and disturb him!

He was even more shocked that someone would dare to randomly add other Spirit Medicine into his Pill Furnace!

“Who are you!? Who let you into my room!?” The old man grabbed Qin Yichen’s collar, his eyes bloodshot, demanding angrily.

Qin Yichen let him grab his collar, showing no anger but instead glancing at the Pill Furnace.

“Hmm?” His calm demeanor made the old man even angrier, but following his gaze to look at the Pill Furnace, the old man’s angry expression suddenly turned to confusion.

Because the previously uncontrollably boiling furnace that was in danger of exploding had mysteriously calmed down, and moreover, medicinal fragrance was wafting from within.

The old man blankly released Qin Yichen’s collar, then walked toward the Pill Furnace with suspicion.

*Huuuu…* Qin Yichen let out a light breath, watching his back, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his lip.

The old man stopped after reaching the Pill Furnace. He reached out his hand and placed it on the Pill Furnace. After confirming that it had calmed down inside, he glanced at Qin Yichen again, then opened the lid.

Instantly, a refreshing medicinal fragrance wafted out from the Pill Furnace, making the old man narrow his eyes.

In an instant, the old man opened his eyes in shock and looked into the Pill Furnace. There, a round Pill laid inside.

Though its smoothness was somewhat low and its Grade appeared to only be around Fourth Grade. Nevertheless, whatever he put inside had indeed successfully formed into a Pill!

“How could it have formed into a Pill?” The old man muttered to himself, puzzled. His eyes were full of confusion and bewilderment. He had been almost certain it had failed. So, how did it succeed in the end?

Suddenly, he remembered Qin Yichen’s rash actions, immediately raised his head and looked at Qin Yichen again.

Qin Yichen still watched him with a faint smile.

“Could it be…” The old man’s pupils dilated slightly, then he rushed at Qin Yichen again, spraying spit all over his face, “Kid, what Spirit Medicine did you add just now? Did you record it? Did you weigh it?!”

He appeared somewhat anxious.

Qin Yichen wiped the spit from his face, then shook his head.

The Elder was refining some Pills for Lin Tianhui, Pills to strengthen his Physique.

Qin Yichen had only watched over what the Elder added, then found several harmonising ingredients to add in.

Though it had formed into a Pill in the end, for Lin Tianhui’s current condition, such a Pill was certainly ineffective.

“You didn’t record it?!” The old man seemed incredulous, then grabbed his collar again, “Who brought you here?”

Outside, hearing the Elder’s roars from inside, that young man laughed maniacally. He was eagerly waiting for Qin Yichen to be thrown out so he could mock him.

But he waited and waited without result…

Because Lin Tianhui spoke up, “I did.”

His voice was not loud, but when the old man’s gaze fell on him, his anger immediately diminished somewhat, and he released his grip on Qin Yichen’s collar.

“You’re back…” The old man’s tone was complicated, containing reproach, worry… and most of all, heartache.

Just thinking about Lin Tianhui enduring the erosion of that Yuan Energy every day, at every moment, made his heart ache.

“Hmm?” The old man seemed to react, looking at Lin Tianhui and asking, “You’re saying you brought this guy here?”

“Yes.” Lin Tianhui seemed to speak even less when in front of this old man.

Qin Yichen could see that Lin Tianhui seemed to harbour great resentment toward this old man.

He could not help but sigh.

[How many could understand an Elder’s good intentions? I might understand but I don’t even know where to begin in persuading Lin Tianhui…]

“You…” The old man turned his gaze back to Qin Yichen, his mouth opening and closing, clearly wanting to scold Qin Yichen. However, considering that Qin Yichen was the first person Lin Tianhui had brought back, he closed his mouth again.

As the Chairman of Alchemy Central, he was actually accommodating someone to this extent, even afraid of displeasing them!

Just what had happened between them?

“Chairman Hai, actually, this Junior is also an Alchemy Master…” Qin Yichen instinctively reached to take out his Alchemy Master Medal, but his hand froze inside his clothes.

If he took out that ordinary Alchemy Master Medal, he would most likely be thrown out by the old man before him, right?

“Perhaps Chairman Hai has heard this Junior’s name before. This Junior is… Qin Yichen from the Thousand Mist Empire.” Qin Yichen thought of a better way to introduce himself. He believed Thousand Mist Alchemy Peak must have sent news about him to Alchemy Central.

The Clear Mind Pill. It was a Compound Pill of era changing significance.

“Thousand Mist Empire?” The old man narrowed his eyes slightly, seeming to be thinking.

“Clear Mind Pill.” Qin Yichen reminded him.

“Oh, the Clear Mind Pill, right. So, you’re that Qin Yichen?” The old man slapped his forehead, finally remembering, and his gaze toward Qin Yichen immediately changed.

At this point, he began to seriously examine the person before him.

He was too young. So young that the Chairman could hardly believe the Clear Mind Pill was developed by the youth before him.

Compound Pill.

This was a new concept which he still did not fully believe in, much less grasped its inner workings even now.

“They say you can fuse Pills with different medicinal effects into one?” Clear doubt was carried in the old man’s words.

“Yes. Those are Compound Pills.” Qin Yichen rubbed his nose bridge, nodding.

“Hmm…” The old man dragged out the sound, clearly pondering the credibility of these words.

After a moment, he finally said, “Show me how you refine them.”
