Alchemy Master

Chapter 338, The Carefree Prince Residence

One day later, as soon as Qin Yichen left Alchemy Central’s gates, several hidden gazes fixed upon him. However, when they saw Xia Ziyi following behind him, those hidden gazes quietly left.

Outside Alchemy Central, Xia Ziyi led Qin Yichen directly to the eastern area of Twilight City, where there was an area specially designated for members of the Royal Family to reside in.

The distance from Alchemy Central to this area was not far. So, in about fifteen minutes, the two appeared before a mansion.

The mansion before them was extremely imposing. At the entrance stood four soldiers wearing armour, with an aura of military might subtly emanating from them. Clearly, these men were absolutely battle-hardened veterans!

Above the main gate hung a massive plaque, with four magnificent characters written across it – ‘Carefree Prince Residence’!

“Greetings, Young Master!” Seeing Xia Ziyi, the four soldiers all respectfully bowed.

As for Qin Yichen, a flash of surprise crossed the soldiers’ eyes. It was known that Xia Ziyi had never brought friends back home before.

Regarding Qin Yichen’s identity, the soldiers did not try to guess anything, and without even questioning, they allowed Xia Ziyi to lead him into the residence.

Upon entering, Qin Yichen’s eyes suddenly narrowed slightly. In his perception, from the moment he stepped into the Carefree Prince Residence, hidden gazes and Spiritual Energy perceptions shot out from various concealed corners, taking in his every move.

[The security here is quite strict.] Qin Yichen muttered in his heart. From those slight fluctuations, he even detected several auras not weaker than Martial Kings.

After passing through a green gravel path in the residence, Xia Ziyi stopped in front of a courtyard.

“My Father is waiting for you there, you can go in by yourself.” Xia Ziyi said, pointing to the courtyard ahead.

Qin Yichen nodded and entered the courtyard.

This courtyard appeared extremely quiet, with two soldiers standing at the entrance.

In the center of the courtyard was a small pavilion, where stood a middle-aged man who appeared quite aged.

His black hair had largely turned white, but just standing there, he was like a blood-stained sharp sword, emanating an awe-inspiring presence that could not be concealed.

This person was the one who had commanded wind and cloud, renowned throughout the Grand Empire… the Carefree Prince, Xia Zelei!

“Junior Qin Yichen pays respects to the Carefree Prince!” Qin Yichen walked to the small pavilion and politely bowed, greeting him.

Hearing Qin Yichen’s voice, Xia Zelei turned around, his sharp gaze looking at Qin Yichen.

When Xia Zelei looked at him, Qin Yichen suddenly felt as if he were on a battlefield. There was a bloodthirsty aura rushing toward him. However, regarding this, Qin Yichen merely maintained his composure, his expression unchanging.

“Not bad.” Seeing that Qin Yichen showed no loss of composure, a flash of surprise seemed to cross Xia Zelei’s eyes, and he nodded, that aura immediately disappearing.

“Since you’re here, how about a game of Go with me?” Xia Zelei pointed to the table before him, speaking rather casually to Qin Yichen.

Qin Yichen also smiled slightly. He had been quite passionate about Go in his previous life, and had even achieved considerable skill in it.

At the courtyard entrance, the two soldiers exchanged glances, both showing surprise in their eyes.

They had followed the Carefree Prince for no short amount of time. They had never seen him evaluate any youth as ‘not bad’, not even Princes with Heavenly Hu Jiao Martial Souls!

As for Go, besides the current Emperor and the Carefree Prince’s old war companions, they had never seen anyone qualify to play Go with the Carefree Prince.

Thus, the old and young sat like friends in the small pavilion playing Go. During the process, neither spoke, creating quite a strange atmosphere.

In this contest, Qin Yichen seemed like a novice, never considering for half a moment before placing his pieces, while the Carefree Prince Xia Zelei displayed a Master’s bearing, with every piece containing some strategy.

At first, Xia Zelei showed some disappointment, but as time passed, his moves became slower, his sharp brows tightly furrowed.

Finally, with one of Qin Yichen’s pieces placed, the entire game tilted in his favour. Without doubt, the Carefree Prince Xia Zelei had lost!

From a distance, seeing this result, both soldiers were stunned. That youth who seemed like a novice had actually won? It should be known that due to certain circumstances, the Carefree Prince rarely went out. Besides caring for his Wife, he was devoted to Go, and his skills in Go were profound. He rarely met his match.

“Haha, not bad young man, to see through the game so thoroughly and trap me in it. Not bad, not bad…” Looking at his defeated pieces, Xia Zelei laughed heartily.

“You’re too kind, Prince. I just got lucky.” Qin Yichen said politely.

“Neither proud nor impatient. Seems like your future achievements won’t be limited to this small Grand Empire.” The Carefree Prince was surprisingly generous with his praise for Qin Yichen.

Afterward, with a wave of the Carefree Prince’s hand, the two soldiers at the courtyard entrance withdrew, leaving only Qin Yichen and Xia Zelei in the vast courtyard.

“I heard from my Son that you taught him an Alchemy Technique, and then Chairman Hai agreed to take him in as a Disciple?” Xia Zelei said as if joking.

“In that case, I still must thank you for helping Ziyi. What business do you have with me? Speak plainly.” Then, Xia Zelei’s expression became serious.

“Why is the Prince in such a hurry?” Qin Yichen smiled, speaking with perfect composure: “I believe you must have heard from Xia Ziyi about my purpose in coming today.”

Hearing these words, Xia Zelei’s expression changed slightly, his voice becoming somewhat gloomy: “Young friend, for the sake of helping Ziyi, just state your request directly. As long as it’s not too excessive, I can satisfy it.”

Regarding his words, Qin Yichen shook his head slightly, sighing: “It seems Xia Ziyi has not told you my identity.”

Xia Zelei frowned. Indeed, when Xia Ziyi had just told him that Qin Yichen was coming to help examine his Wife’s condition, he had harshly berated him.

But identity?

Before the Carefree Prince, besides the Emperor, what identity in the Grand Empire could make him wary or look up upon?

Regarding Qin Yichen, he had heard some things these past few days, after all he was the talk of Twilight City.

The Alchemy Prodigy of the Thousand Mist Empire, the youngest Martial King to enter the third floor of the Twilight Tower!

But so what?

If he thought this would let him be arrogant before himself, then this youth was still far too naive.
