Chapter 321, The Terrifying Giant Scorpion

Qin Yichen gulped hard. He did not rashly extend his Spiritual Energy to probe inside, but instead controlled the Two-Headed Strange Snake that had been following behind him to slip nimbly towards that opening.

The Three-Tailed Spirit Devouring Fox on the first floor was already so troublesome, the second floor would surely be even more terrifying.

Through the Two-Headed Strange Snake’s pupils, the scene inside appeared before Qin Yichen’s eyes.

Inside the gap, it was very damp, with dim lighting and low visibility. Qin Yichen could only let the Two-Headed Strange Snake move towards the source of the dripping sounds.

Soon, a faint light appeared in Qin Yichen’s vision.

Immediately, he controlled the Two-Headed Strange Snake to halt, not wanting to advance recklessly. It soon inched forward. bit by bit.

After rounding a corner, finally, the situation inside came into his view.

Inside, there was no light source. The reason for the glow was that the cave walls were covered with Green Vines, and on the vines grew three or four gourd-shaped fruits.

The light was emanating from these gourd-like fruits. It was also these dim lights that allowed Qin Yichen to see the fierce creature inside.

It was a Giant Scorpion, and moreover, it was not a Twilight Puppet, but a real Demonic Beast.

However, looking at its armour-like shell, its defense was likely no weaker than the Puppets outside.

Behind it was a tail like an iron chain over ten meters long, coiled around its body. At the tip, the stinger gleamed with a dark blue luster – clearly highly toxic. Being stung once would certainly result in death by poisoning.

Just at a glance, that Giant Scorpion seemed to sense something. It opened its gloomy eyes to look toward where the Two-Headed Strange Snake was. Before Qin Yichen could react, its ten-meter-plus chain-like tail whipped directly at the Two-Headed Strange Snake.

*Bang!* With just one snap, the Martial King Realm Two-Headed Strange Snake was cut cleanly in two and thrown out.

*Siii!…* Looking at the neatly bisected Two-Headed Strange Snake before him, Qin Yichen could not help but draw in a sharp breath. If he had rashly charged in, his fate would certainly have been the same as this Two-Headed Strange Snake.

Although he was confident in his defense, he was not arrogant enough to think he could compare to the Two-Headed Strange Snake.

He was fortunate to have been cautious.

“But, those things inside should be Twilight Spirit Fruits, right?” A gleam of greed flashed in Qin Yichen’s eyes.

He could see clearly that there were four Twilight Spirit Fruits inside, meaning they could help four people at the Fully Accomplished Spirit Realm advance to the Martial King Realm.

He was certainly eager to obtain them too. Otherwise, continuing with his normal cultivation speed, it would take Qin Yichen a very ‘long time’ to break through to the Martial King Realm.

“En.” Xia Zilin nodded.

Beside them, Lin Tianhui’s eyes beneath his black robe also flashed with burning desire. Clearly, all three of them needed the Twilight Spirit Fruit.

However right now, wanting to obtain the Twilight Spirit Fruit was clearly impossible.

The Giant Scorpion inside was obviously no ordinary Martial King Realm being. Even if Li Aofeng and his two companions were here, they absolutely would not be able to defeat it.

Qin Yichen could not understand how the previous participants had managed to obtain the Twilight Spirit Fruits.

He turned his gaze to Xia Zilin, waiting for her to speak.

“We can only find a way to lure that thing out, and then…” As soon as Xia Zilin spoke, Qin Yichen understood.

However, the person luring the Giant Scorpion would be in great danger. In the past, those people basically just lured the Giant Scorpion out a distance before directly crushing their Life Token to leave.

Of course, the further it was lured, the safer it would be for the person going in to pick the Spirit Fruit.

“In the past, everyone who could enter the second floor would cooperate, and the Spirit Fruits obtained would be evenly distributed among the Major Forces…” Xia Zilin sighed softly and continued, “But we only have three people. We will not be able to lure it far away. As soon as the Giant Scorpion senses someone entering its territory, it will immediately turn back. At that time, I’m afraid all our efforts will be in vain.”

Qin Yichen fell silent.

No matter what, they could only leave one person to go in and pick the Twilight Spirit Fruits, and even then, success was not guaranteed.

Of course, most importantly, the person going to lure away the Giant Scorpion would also mean giving up the qualification to enter the third floor.

Xia Zilin definitely wanted to go look for the Royal Seal.

Qin Yichen naturally wanted to go to the third floor too. He wanted to know who exactly built this Twilight Tower. It was perhaps on the third floor that he could solve this mystery.

“I can go lure away the Giant Scorpion.” Xia Zilin suddenly spoke up. Under Qin Yichen’s surprised gaze, she continued, “But, I need one Twilight Spirit Fruit!”

Her giving up was wise. Because with her strength alone, she had no way to compete with Li Aofeng and the others.

When Qin Yichen’s gaze fell on Lin Tianhui, a cold voice also came from under the black robe, “I want one too!”

“These are some Pills I’ve refined.” Having made the decision, Qin Yichen did not hesitate, taking out some Pills to distribute to them.

Li Aofeng and his group would definitely come here. So, they had to act quickly.

*Bang!* After Qin Yichen had hidden himself well, Xia Zilin struck the gap with her palm, immediately sending a loud sound echoing into the cave.

*Screech!…* In an instant, an enraged roar came from inside, followed by the Giant Scorpion appearing at the cave entrance. Its gaze quickly locked onto Xia Zilin, who had already fled to a distance.

Qin Yichen did not rush out. Rather, he silently counted time in his heart.

Because now, as soon as he stepped into the Giant Scorpion’s territory, it would immediately return.

[Thirty seconds!] This was Xia Zilin and Lin Tianhui’s limit, meaning Qin Yichen would have to quickly enter after thirty seconds, pick the Twilight Spirit Fruits, and escape from there.

[Thirty!] After counting to thirty in his heart, Qin Yichen did not hesitate. He shot directly into the cave like an arrow leaving its bowstring. Based on his earlier memory, he quickly arrived before that patch of Green Vines, and picked the four Twilight Spirit Fruits. He did so without pausing for even half a second, immediately rushing back outside.

*Screech!* Just as he had picked the Twilight Spirit Fruits and left the cave, from far away came the Giant Scorpion’s furious cry.

*Whoosh!* Using the Walking Technique, Qin Yichen streaked towards their predetermined location.

But clearly, the time had been too short. The Giant Scorpion had caught his aura and was swiftly pursuing him.

This scared Qin Yichen to break into a cold sweat, making him rush forward desperately, not even paying attention to the direction…

However, the goddess of fortune still favoured him.

Soon, the appearance of a group of Puppets delayed the Giant Scorpion’s pursuit.

However, Qin Yichen did not even have the courage to look back, continuing to flee like no tomorrow.

After all, that group of Puppets would not buy him much time before being completely torn apart by the Giant Scorpion.

However, just as the Giant Scorpion was about to continue pursuing Qin Yichen, it suddenly turned back, rushing towards its own territory.

It seemed like its territory had suffered intrusion from some other people.
