Alchemy Master

Chapter 320, Planting a Spirit Seed

*Thud thud thud…* Even though Qin Yichen had reacted quickly, his chest still ached slightly from the impact. After steadying his footing, he looked towards the dark corner.

There was a giant snake, thicker than a Human thigh. Strangely, it had two heads, and both were flicking their tongues while emanating a cold aura.

Then, this Two-Headed Strange Snake suspended itself in place.

It was actually a Martial King Realm puppet in the form of a Demonic Beast.

Qin Yichen’s mouth twitched, but his gaze remained fixed on those Spirit Fruits. Those were Peerless Grade Spirit Herbs!

Outside, obtaining even one would be extremely difficult, yet here grew several. He really did not want to give up.

“Since it’s a puppet, it must have a weakness.” Qin Yichen quickly calmed down. In his previous life, he had visited a Puppet Master and learned some characteristics of puppets.

However, this Two-Headed Strange Snake before him was different from the puppet army outside. It seemed to have developed some level of sentience.

Qin Yichen gave up using Yuan Energy. These puppets were made of special materials. Yuan Energy attacks could hardly damage them.

However, this Two-Headed Strange Snake was different. It was sentience, which might be a good breakthrough point.

[Let’s try it.] Thinking this, Qin Yichen focused his thoughts, condensing his Spiritual Energy into two tiny needles, shooting them towards the glowing red eyes in one of the Two-Headed Strange Snake’s heads.

*Hiss!…* The Two-Headed Strange Snake flicked its tongue and swept its tail, seemingly wanting to swat away these annoying things.

“Ha!” Qin Yichen’s lips curled up. With a thought, the two needles nimbly dodged its tail and shot at extremely high speed toward those crimson eyes.

*Hiss!* The Two-Headed Strange Snake suddenly felt pain and fell straight down, writhing constantly on the ground. The entire cave was filled with various *bang bang* sounds.

“It’s working!” A trace of joy appeared in Qin Yichen’s eyes, while Xia Zuling and Lin Tianhui beside him, who had been preparing for a big battle, were stunned.

In just the blink of an eye, that Martial King Realm puppet had suffered such heavy damage.

[Just how much has this guy hidden?] The more Xia Zuling interacted with Qin Yichen, the more she found she could not see through this youth.

[Just what is his background story!?] Xia Zuling grew increasingly curious.

She even felt that Qin Yichen was not from the Grand Empire. After all, within the Grand Empire, who had the ability to nurture such a prodigy?

In terms of Martial Arts cultivation talent and Alchemy talent, both were first-rate.

Most importantly, having good talent was one thing, but he was at such a young age. Even so, on both fields, neither his Martial Arts cultivation nor his Spiritual Energy cultivation had fallen behind. In fact, he exceeded most of his peers.

This was the most prodigious aspect.

As Qin Yichen’s Spiritual Energy extinguished that tiny bit of sentience that the Two-Headed Strange Snake had developed, and the thrashing Two-Headed Strange Snake finally quietened down.

“This is a really treasure.” After walking over, Qin Yichen did not immediately pick the Peerless Grade Green Jade Spirit Fruits he wanted. Instead, he walked toward the Two-Headed Strange Snake lying stiff on the ground.

That Puppet Master had once told him about the difference between puppets with and without sentience.

For Martial Artists, puppets without sentience were easier to deal with because the lack of sentience meant clumsiness and inflexibility. Typically, just disable some joints and they become like scrap metal.

However, Alchemy Masters who excelled in Spiritual Energy found these those puppets without sentience were more troublesome to handle.

As for puppets with sentience, usually when a Puppet Master forged them, they would leave a Spirit Seed inside.

This Spirit Seed would gradually grant the puppet some sentience.

Moreover, as time passed, their sentience and intelligence would increase.

This Two-Headed Strange Snake’s level of intelligence was actually not inferior to Humans, but it just happened to encounter Qin Yichen.

For Martial Artists, puppets with such level of intelligence were indeed troublesome to deal with, but their weakness lay precisely in their strength.

Just extinguish the Spirit Seed inside them, and they would become manipulable like now.

The reason Qin Yichen called it a treasure, even considering it more valuable than the Jade Green Spirit Fruits, was because after extinguishing its Spirit Seed, this puppet was far from useless. On the contrary, by planting his own Spirit Seed inside of it, this Puppet would now belong to him.

If he could possess a Martial King Realm puppet, that would be another layer of protection for himself.

The method of planting a Spirit Seed in puppets had been taught hands-on by that Puppet Master, so planting a Spirit Seed was not difficult for him.

However, even when a new Spirit Seed had been planted, it did not have sentience yet and still needed Qin Yichen to directly control it.

While he was planting the Spirit Seed, Xia Zuling and Lin Tianhui stood behind him, bewildered. They did not know what he was doing.

“Success!” Following Qin Yichen’s excited voice, they suddenly saw the previously dim eyes of the Two-Headed Strange Snake light up again.

“Be careful…” Xia Zuling warned, but as she was about to pull Qin Yichen back, she saw the Two-Headed Strange Snake docilely staying by Qin Yichen’s feet.

“This…” This bizarre scene left Xia Zuling and Lin Tianhui speechless. They could hardly describe their current feelings.

From the current situation, it seemed like Qin Yichen had somehow gained controlled over this Martial King Realm puppet.

This was something they could never have imagined, yet Qin Yichen had done it.

“Monster!” Even the usually ice-cold Lin Tianhui could not help but utter these words.

“Hehe. Your praises are welcomed.” After controlling the Two-Headed Strange Snake to roam around the cave and picking those Spirit Fruits, Qin Yichen walked back to them with a satisfied expression.

Controlling the puppet was not as difficult as Qin Yichen had imagined. With just a thought, the Two-Headed Strange Snake would execute his commands. It like having an extra arm.

He was just somewhat unfamiliar with using this arm.

The subsequent scavenging went even more smoothly. Though, they only found some Rare Grade Spirit Herbs and other decent materials.

“We’re here, it’s inside there.” Xia Zuling suddenly stopped, speaking to Qin Yichen beside her.

“Oh?” Qin Yichen looked ahead. There, the originally solid cave wall had cracked opening, with the sound of dripping water coming from inside.

It was pitch black, impossible to see what was inside.
