Chapter 688: Chapter 273: Proof (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

Hearing the other party’s explanation, Reine couldn’t help but become curious and looked up at the speaker.

Seemingly organizing his words, the messenger said, “Lord Reine, it’s like this. Due to confidentiality reasons, I only know that there is a team of Sword Bearers from other provinces coming.”

Hmm?

A team of Sword Bearers from other provinces?

“Additionally, Yumaz and Olena have also coordinated with other special departments,” the messenger added.

Reine nodded and asked, “Are they all reinforcements?”

“Uh, I’m not quite sure about that… Lady Olena will personally come over tomorrow to coordinate this operation. You can ask her then.”

“Tomorrow, huh?”

“Yes, Lady Olena should arrive here before tomorrow afternoon,” the messenger said.

“Since that’s the case, I have no more questions. We’ll just wait for Lady Olena to arrive tomorrow and discuss it then,” Reine stated.

“Alright, Lord Reine. Oh, Lady Olena also asked me to inquire if you have any additional needs on your end?”

“Hmm…” Reine appeared thoughtful.

“Bring me ten ingots of Hardened Essence Gold.”

“Hardened Essence Gold ingots? Uh… okay, no problem,” the messenger replied somewhat confusedly but nodded in agreement.

…

By noon the next day, Olena, the efficient matron and Deputy of Affairs at the Sword Bearers Branch, had arrived in Meister.

Inside the Count’s reception parlor.

Upon meeting, the efficient matron smilingly said, “Lord Reine, congratulations!”

“Hmm? Congratulations for what?” Reine looked puzzled.

Could it be that Olena was congratulating him for those two gold-level tasks he incidentally completed in the province of Wales?

Giggling, Olena said, “Lord Reine, don’t you know?”

“That’s right, you weren’t in Mingster previously. The branch noticed that your merits were sufficient and applied for a viscountcy on your behalf; the approval came through yesterday. Viscount Renn!”

“Thank you!” Reine appeared enlightened; he was aware of it but hadn’t expected it to come through so swiftly.

It seems Alyosha’s father, Javier Special Envoy, must have played a role in accelerating the process.

Indeed, ‘having connections in high places makes things easier,’ applies even in other worlds.

“Thump thump thump!”

At that moment, a servant reported, “Lord Reine, a carriage has arrived outside, and the parties claim they are from Nome Province.”

“It seems they have arrived. I’ll go to receive them. Would you like to join me, Lord Reine?” Olena asked with a smile as she rose to her feet.

“Yes,” Reine replied, having not had the chance to ask Olena some questions earlier, and he was also curious about the Sword Bearers team from another province.

The two approached the entrance, and at that moment, the people inside the luxurious carriage, noticing Olena and Reine, started to alight one after the other.

The three men were all males. A slim, tall young man in leather armor stepped down first and looked around before smiling at Olena and Reine.

Another young man, dressed in a long robe and holding a book with a gold-engraved cover, nodded to them before turning his attention back to his book.

The last to disembark was a burly middle-aged man garbed in Knight Armor and carrying a Longsword. With an expressionless face, his aura suggested that he was a Peak Knight, likely the captain of this squad.

“This must be Captain Langgeler. I am Olena, Deputy of Affairs at the Sword Bearers Branch in Mingster. Nice to meet you,” Olena greeted him proactively with a smile.

“Hello,” the burly middle-aged man named Langgeler nodded to Olena.

He then glanced at Reine.

Noticing Reine’s aura, which had just barely reached the level of an experienced Great Knight, Langgeler quickly glanced away and surveyed his surroundings, his expression slightly disappointed.

“Captain Langgeler, this is Viscount Renn, who is also…” Olena began to introduce.

Langgeler waved his hand dismissively with a cool demeanor, “Let’s go to the conference room first. It’s too noisy here.”

“Uh, okay… Captain Langgeler, let’s proceed to the conference room then,” Olena glanced at Reine and, noticing no signs of anger on his face, she breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, young people tend to be more fiery!

This Captain Langgeler indeed had his quirks, not even letting one finish the introduction.

He seemed not so easy to deal with! Olena thought to herself.

Reine simply nodded and said nothing. He didn’t approach to further engage with Langgeler.

At that moment, the talkative young man in leather armor walked up to Reine and said with a grin, “Don’t mind him, our captain is just like that.”

“By the way, you look quite young to be a viscount! Are you the son of… what’s his name… Habbs? The son of Count Habbs?”

“No,” Reine shook his head, feeling somewhat speechless.

The team from Nome Province consisted of a stoic captain and a chatterbox teammate.

…

The group walked into the luxurious conference room at Earl Habbs Mansion.

Asides a painting, the walls were adorned with shields, axes, and other weapons, while every corner featured fully armed knight mannequins in gleaming silver armor, polished to a shine, sparkling brightly.

After scanning the room, Langgeler, the burly man, spoke up somewhat displeased, “Lady Olena, where is your team? Have they not arrived yet?”

“Ahem… let me introduce. This, Viscount Renn, represents our team,” Olena quickly said.

She suddenly realized a problem.

Although Reine was the team captain, his other two team members were not here, and the fact that Reine had come alone to execute the task in Meister was a special approval by her.
