Chapter 660: Chapter 266 Breaking Evil (Two in One Mega Chapter)

When Lord Reine led Lady Creya to the carriage door.

Perhaps because the Chief Maid Shadia was inside, this time, Cleya took the opportunity of opening the door to slightly exert some force, withdrawing her soft, delicate hand from Reine’s.

Inside the carriage.

Upon seeing Reine and Cleya return, the Chief Maid who was quite excited, exclaimed,

“Lord Reine, your actions just now were truly satisfying! Seeing you teach that ungrateful Earl Rodlin and his son a lesson made me feel sweeter than honey!”

“Thank you. That’s what I’m supposed to do, isn’t it? I am now Lady Cleya’s Guardian Knight,” Reine said with a smile, responding to the Chief Maid’s praise.

Hearing Reine mention “Guardian Knight” again made Cleya’s pretty face blush slightly.

…

The caravan continued to gallop swiftly towards Meister County, and as night fell, the Knights seemed unfazed, but exhaustion was thinly veiled on the Cavalries’ faces.

The Cavalry were merely well-trained mortals, and a day of intense travel had indeed tired them out.

At that moment, Cleya in the carriage asked the old steward outside the window, “Where are we now?”

“Miss, we have now passed Colma Town. Um… we are about midway between Colma Town and Ez Town,” replied Yodel, the old steward riding outside.

“Then let’s camp nearby. Don’t forget to inform Viscount Seriel,” she ordered.

“As you command, Lady Creya,” he acknowledged.

Reine, standing by, did not offer any opinion.

Because Creya had already told him earlier that to save time, they planned to camp in the wilderness according to schedule.

After spending one night in the wilderness, they planned to continue their journey early the next morning and should arrive at Meister by around two or three in the afternoon that same day.

Hearing that they could camp and rest, the Cavalries let out a sigh of relief, smiles spreading across their faces.

Soon, on a clearing by the roadside in the forest, campfires began to rise, and the group started to roast various kinds of jerkies.

…

Meanwhile, in a hidden valley not far from the temporary campsite.

A massive troupe, several times larger than Reine’s group, was rapidly approaching them!

The leader was a luxurious carriage without any emblem, surrounded by more than ten hooded monks.

The most numerous in the troupe were over a hundred individuals dressed in uniform grey robes with hoods, all bearing the mark of a burning black flame on their sleeves or collars—evidently, those grey robes must be the new followers that Galina had mentioned who were trained in the county of Wells.

Shifting the view to the end of the procession.

One could see a massive cart pulled by sixteen horses, dragging an extremely heavy object, slowly moving behind the group.

Even though the cart was loaded with a thick tarpaulin making it difficult to discern the specifics, it was vaguely recognizable as having a massive humanoid silhouette.

Despite the cart’s numerous wide wheels installed to prevent it from sinking into the ground, it left behind deep ruts, a mere ten centimeters into the earth!

“High Priestess, the weather is in our favor! Look, we don’t even need to cast the Fog Spell, as a thin fog has already risen around us,” said a hooded monk, bowing slightly to Galina inside the carriage.

Galina’s enchanting eyes glanced outside the window and, flicking her long fingernails, said, “Don’t be complacent, send a few men to go ahead and release a few Fog Spells.”

“By the way, have we heard from Bidaels yet?”

“Bidaels has already led his men from Colma Town to encircle from that side, and should arrive at the enemy camp around the same time as us. High Priestess, it’s too late for the enemy to retreat now; both the front and back roads have been blocked by us,” replied the monk.

“Hmm, if the enemy decides to hold their ground, Kurban, you know, I don’t want too many casualties. Don’t forget, so many new followers are watching us from behind,” she instructed.

“Of course, High Priestess. Rest assured, I’ve brought the materials for the Evil Spell Formation. They will soon understand that under the power of the Evil Spell Formation, all battle formations are but clay chickens and pottery dogs!” The hooded monk said confidently with a smug look on his face.

“Good.”

…

In the clearing, at the temporary campsite.

Reine was about to invite Cleya to further improve her Arcadian Swordsmanship when suddenly, a shrill cry of a bird of prey came from the sky. Soon after, a massive bird of prey with blue and purple feathers circled down from the sky.

This scene immediately caused some panic among the Cavalry, who drew their weapons in alarm.

“Don’t worry, it’s my pet,” Reine waved his hand reassuringly.

Blood Feather, flapping her enormous wings and stirring a strong gust, landed on Reine’s arm.

Reine was confused as to why Blood Feather would actively seek him out, but he quickly noticed a pigeon grasped in Blood Feather’s talons.

The pigeon was not dead, but it seemed to be extremely terrified of Blood Feather and did not dare to struggle violently, its little eyes filled with fear.

A pigeon?

Reine immediately thought of something.

After a brief exchange of gestures with Blood Feather, he understood what had happened.

“Blood Feather, you’ve noticed our caravan sends out these little birds every so often, right?” Reine asked.

Blood Feather looked proudly at Reine and nodded after a short screech.

Reine removed the small bamboo tube tied to the pigeon’s leg and pulled out a piece of paper from within.
