Chapter 656: Chapter 265: Evil Sorcerer (Two in One Mega Chapter)

Welsh County, within a manor.

“High Priestess, just now, we received an urgent message from Lord Stainer.” A Black Flame cultist respectfully said to a slender female figure in black robes.

“Oh? Is it a letter from Lord Raksul? Bring it to me.”

“As you command, my lady.” The Black Flame cultist handed over a slightly curled letter.

A pair of overly pale, bloodless hands reached out, took the offered letter, and lifted the hood to read it.

At that moment, the face under the hood was revealed to be that of a young woman with a seductive appearance, especially her deep brown eyes and the makeup around them resembling black eyeshadow, seemed to emit a special charm, luring people into oblivion.

This seductive young woman was none other than the Black Flame Cult’s High Priestess in Welsh County—Garina Barking.

As she parted her thin lips, she read softly:

“…Count Habs’s daughter Cleya and her party… are passing through Welsh County on their way to Meister… with a certain strength of guards…”

“…Capture her alive…”

“There’s an informant within their team… Their camp should be tonight in the woods between Colma Town and Ez Town…”

After reading, a contemplative look crossed Garina’s face, and she then passed the open letter to her subordinate, seemingly for them to have a look as well.

Several minutes later, Garina spoke:

“Since it’s a request from Lord Raksul, of course, we must cooperate. Get in touch with this informant and find out their current location, and confirm where they’ll be camping tonight.

“By the way, what is the strength of this earl’s daughter? Does she have any particularly formidable experts with her? We need to investigate all of this thoroughly… If we’re going to do this, let’s do it beautifully!”

“As you wish, High Priestess.”

The robed subordinate slowly withdrew…

At this time, a sly smile appeared on Garina’s face, and she whispered:

“The ‘Phantom Art’ combined with the ‘Explosive Black Flame’ newly bestowed by the great God of Hunting. My new trump card has just been perfected; it’s a good time to test it in real combat.”

“I hope this time the enemy proves to be somewhat interesting…”

Garina was originally a Wizard Apprentice specializing in illusion techniques, but due to limited talent and after exhausting all effort to obtain the Vaporization Agent, she failed to break through to a full Wizard and instead suffered a great loss in power.

This caused her mentality to gradually warp, and with Raksul’s seduction, Garina turned to become a follower of the God of Hunting, Luen, years ago.

After joining the Black Flame Cult, Garina performed exceptionally well in several missions, which earned her the God of Hunting’s favor during prayers and sacrifices. Not only did she breakthrough to a Wizard, but she also became an Evil Sorcerer.

Evil Sorcerer, the power comes not only from their own witchcraft but more from the blessings granted by the deity they serve. This effect is similar to witchcraft, but even more sinister and bizarre, classified as Evil Magic by the orthodox.

And everyone who uses the powers of evil magic bestowed by the Evil God can be collectively referred to as an Evil Sorcerer.

“Wait, the training for the new believers within the Mingster Province is set to be held here. It’s perfect timing to call them all to witness this.”

“It can serve as practical training and also bolster their convictions that the Empire is in decline, driving them more actively into the embrace of our lord.” Garina stopped the subordinate who was about to leave and said.

“As you wish, High Priestess.” The Black Flame cultist bowed again before turning to leave.

…

—————–

Welsh County.

A temporary campsite by the road.

Rein carefully reviewed the conditions for his advancement to ‘King of Thousand Blades’, finding that he could hardly meet any of them at the moment.

The only one he had already satisfied was the Bear King Breathing Technique.

This also implied, from another perspective, that his breathing technique level was already high enough, but since he had stepped onto the transcendent path for such a short time, the effects had not fully manifested yet.

This was normal.

The enhancement to the body provided by a breathing technique is a continual and slow change. Normally, an ordinary person wanting to become a formal Knight would need years of breathing technique practice to enhance their physical quality.

However, Rein soon thought of another factor.

Since he could add points to his own attributes, the effect of the breathing technique was even less noticeable. It was likely that just as he was about to experience an increase in Strength or Constitution due to the technique, his attribute points would cover it up.

For instance, because of the effects brought by the breathing technique, Rein might soon face an increase in Strength or Constitution, but if he added points to Strength or Constitution at that moment, the benefits of the technique would naturally be overshadowed by the attribute points.

To put it another way, if someone already possesses the physical quality of a Great Knight, then practicing a beginner-level breathing technique would basically have no effect, or only an insubstantial one.

Also, does it require nine secret techniques?

Luckily, it’s not nine different types of weapons.

If it’s nine secret techniques, it might be difficult for others, but for myself, it’s not so bad since I’ve already mastered five of them.

…..

Seeing Rein standing still, Cleya, who had just walked over, thought Rein was shocked by the legend of the ‘King of Thousand Blades’ of the Ancient Giant Troll race and jokingly said:

“Rein, do you think it’s possible that you have Ancient Giant Troll blood in you? Otherwise, why would you be proficient in so many weapons and extraordinary combat skills?”
