Chapter 673: Chapter 269: Decide for Yourself (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

Especially the Knights, when they saw Lord Rein holding the fleeing female Cult high priestess and walking towards them, they all looked at Rein with admiration on their faces.

This is the high priestess of the Black Flame Cult in Wales County!

And she was dealt with by the young Lord Rein.

However, the mentality of the Cultists who witnessed this scene was very different.

Seeing Galina dangling from Rein’s hand, like a dead snake, those die-hard Cultists saw their last glimmer of hope vanish in an instant.

This caused the Cultists who were still desperately resisting to scatter like birds and beasts in mere minutes!

“Quick, pursue them!” Viscount Seriel commanded the Knights, quickly chasing after these defeated remnants.

Then Cleya sheathed her greatsword and stepped forward, asking with concern, “Rein, how are you? Are you alright?”

“Miss Cleya, I’m fine.”

“This person seems to be the main high priestess of the Black Flame Cult in Wales County. Perhaps, from her, you can learn why they came to attack us,” Rein said as he threw Galina’s body at Cleya’s feet.

“Hmm, let me see!”

Soon, Cleya found several items on Galina’s body: a Crystal Ball, the high priestess token of the Black Flame Cult, several different types of Black Flame Cult prayers, and a note.

Cleya opened the note and looked at it for a while before handing it to Rein, saying, “Rein, it’s just as we expected.”

Rein took it and nodded his head.

“Miss Cleya, this explains why the Black Flame Cult high priestess from Wales County came to assassinate you. It turns out she was acting at the behest of someone nicknamed ‘Blood Burner’ Raksul.”

“You might not know, one of the Sword Bearers tasks I took on this time is to kill this Raksul.”

“Besides, he is also the planner and creator of the Flashgold Town massacre.”

“What?”

“The Flashgold Town massacre was orchestrated by this ‘Blood Burner’?” Cleya said in surprise.

Though Cleya had special channels through her family for intelligence, it was still not as comprehensive as what the Sword Bearers had.

Rein nodded and said, “Yes, the intelligence from the Sword Bearers Branch shouldn’t be wrong.”

“However, Rein, if they managed to get the high priestess of Wales County involved, it suggests that this ‘Blood Burner’ might be even more powerful than this Galina. If you really intend to go and kill him, you must be extra careful,” Cleya reminded him.

Rein nodded.

…

As they talked, they came near the temporary camp, but when Rein saw the huge remains of the Giant Axe Golem, something suddenly occurred to him.

He took out his glittering gold insignia of a Golden-ranked Sword Bearer and rubbed the name on the back of the insignia three times with his thumb.

This was a special one-way communication method, available only at the Golden rank, which served to summon non-combat assistance.

Simply put, once activated, it would send out a special signal that observers nearby with the corresponding receiving device could detect the signal’s location and the Sword Bearer’s name and other information.

Most importantly, once the signal was received, the local Observer would immediately dispatch someone to provide non-combat assistance.

Rein thought that this Giant Axe Golem, including Galina, was likely registered with the Mingster Sword Bearers Branch.

And the task he took related to the Black Flame Cult was within Meister County, not Wales County.

Therefore, Rein decided to have someone send these remains back to Mingster.

About an hour later, a small team of elite Rangers escorting a middle-aged Wizard in wizard robes hurried to the vicinity of the temporary camp.

This immediately put the Cavalry, who had just suffered an attack, on high alert as they readied their bows and aimed.

“Don’t panic, may I ask if Lord Rein is here?” the middle-aged Wizard asked, gesturing with his hand.

An hour ago, Observer Maken Clinton of Wales County received a communication signal that showed a Golden-ranked Sword Bearer named Rein had sent out a signal between Colma Town and Ez Town.

This indicated that a Sword Bearer was calling for non-combat assistance.

Naturally, Observer Maken did not dare delay, and after some thought, he rushed over personally.

And as he approached the temporary camp, seeing the trail of destruction, gaping trenches crisscrossing the ground, and the bodies of over a hundred Cultists, he was quite astonished.

Though he expected a battle might have taken place after receiving the communication, he hadn’t anticipated the scale would be so massive!

From an intelligence perspective, he could be unaware before the battle took place, but to still be unaware after the event as the Observer of Wales County would indicate negligence.

Quickly grasping and reporting on significant local events is one of the main responsibilities of an Observer.

But when Maken followed the trail of the battle to the massive remains of the Giant Axe Golem, his eyes widened in shock!

Wasn’t this the very Golem Guard that he had been tasked to pay close attention to?

Previously, they had sent a message asking him to closely monitor any production of Golem Guards by the Black Flame Cult within Wales County, for which he had dispatched people to search extensively without any findings.

Little did he realize that one had been made right under his nose and had already been killed!
