Chapter 683: Chapter 271 Defense (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

“Lord Reine, please show your emblem. The secret message can only be opened with your emblem,” he requested.

Rein nodded slightly and handed over the golden emblem.

The person took it and gently ran the emblem over a letter that emanated a faint glow of witchcraft.

Instantly, the glow on the letter fluttered once before becoming calm again.

“This is a confidential letter. Also, Lord Reine, the letter will self-ignite in five minutes. Please review it quickly,” the resolute man explained.

“Hmm!”

Rein nodded, took the letter, and quickly began reading it, scanning multiple lines at a glance.

He quickly memorized the contents.

Rein hadn’t expected the ‘Blood Burner’ Raksul’s strength to be as formidable as he had previously estimated, the level of the task had now also been adjusted to three and a half stars.

Moreover, another piece of news in the letter greatly concerned him.

It was that the envoy of the Secret Snake Sect would arrive in Meister within the next few days to make contact with the Black Flame Cult.

That meant if he moved now, he might face experts from two Cults soon.

Of course, if their strength were enough, they might not even wait for Rein to find them, but rather they would come knocking at his door!

“Tell Lord Yumaz and Lady Olena that I will continue with the mission and thank them for their concern,” he said.

“Certainly, Lord Reine. Lady Olena asked if there is anything you need? Both she and Lord Yumaz will try to coordinate as much as they can for you.”

“Hmm…” Rein appeared pensive.

He faced a daunting problem now—if he needed to defend the whole of Earl Habbs’ Mansion, he was too short on personnel.

Even with just surveillance and guard duty, the repeatedly attacked Earl Habbs Mansion did not have personnel strong enough to handle it.

The two Peak Knights from Viscount Seriel’s place simply weren’t a match for the Cult experts.

Rein couldn’t help but think of the twin ponytailed girl, Vinica.

If Vinica were here, with her bird specialization, she could at least take a significant load off his mind regarding surveillance, allowing him to focus more on combat.

Now, he could only rely on the Blood Feathered Horned Eagle and the Greyhound war hounds to ensure the surveillance and safety of the main villa.

Rein thought for a moment and said, “Tell the two Lords to see if they can arrange for Vinica to come here. She’s my teammate, currently in Fishing Port Town.”

“Of course, Lord Reine, I’ve noted this and will report it immediately to the two Lords. Anything else?”

“One more thing, ask Lady Olena to inquire if Angus, Viery, and three others would be willing to come execute the task in Meister,” he said.

He knew this request might be difficult, as the individuals were previously part of the military and with the current instability in the empire, they likely had specific assignments.

However, as they were new Sword Bearers, it might be easier to coordinate their movements.

Rein valued them greatly, partly because they all were from the Imperial army, strictly disciplined.

He had sparred with them a few times, and both their personalities and strengths were commendable. If he could transfer them all here, defending would become significantly easier for him.

As for Evelyn, he wouldn’t consider her.

Because during his time at the Sword Bearers Branch, he had heard about the situation in Rossby County, and this time, Evelyn had returned to Rossby County for a mission.

“Alright, Lord Reine. Anything else?”

“That’s all.”

—————–

On a highway near the Mingster Province border in Nome Province.

A luxurious carriage was speeding along, with two black-robed individuals sitting face to face inside.

Their black robes were marked with the symbol of a serpent biting its tail on the collar and sleeves, the most striking feature being on the face of one of them, who had a metal ring in the shape of a serpent biting its tail embedded into his lip, looking quite sinister!

The other black-robed person had an “8”-shaped serpent pattern drawn on his forehead.
