Chapter 675: Chapter 269: Decide on Your Own (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

The Giant Axe Golem guards and Galina who followed were indeed very strong and naturally fell into the category of formidable enemies. After the battle concluded, they provided him with 3 and 2 Golden Skill Points respectively.

That is to say, from this battle Rein had obtained a total of 5 Golden Skill Points, and together with the original 2 points, at this moment, his Golden Skill Points had reached 7.

Mingster.

Underground at the Sword Bearers Branch, in the Intelligence Hall.

It was a high-ceilinged hall stretching dozens of meters in height. Nearly fifty staffers bustled about on the floor of the hall, a scene of hectic activity.

In the center of the hall were placed dozens of spiral, towering bookshelves, except that what populated the shelves weren’t books, but scrolls of information and intelligence documents.

Several staffers were going up and down in a lifting device equipped with a basket.

At the top of the hall were two deep tunnels resembling vents, except it wasn’t humans but birds, bats, and other flying creatures that were coming in and out.

These creatures carried intelligence of various levels of secrecy, falling into the hands of the staffers who then swiftly decoded, filed, reported, or transferred the information as necessary.

The entire hall operated around the clock, so even at night, it was brightly lit and filled with a flurry of activity.

“Lord Colin, here is an urgent intelligence report from the Empire’s Army special department, Earth-shaker,” said a female staffer as she briskly walked over, reporting with a hint of urgency.

“Read,” replied the slightly pot-bellied, balding middle-aged man Colin, one of the four Undersecretaries of the Intelligence Hall and the person in charge of the Intelligence Hall for the night.

Because the hall operated non-stop 24 hours a day, there were four Undersecretaries specially appointed to work in shifts.

“Urgent intelligence from Earth-shaker: Raksul’s strength surpasses expectations, the Blade Panther squad has been annihilated! Furthermore, the Secret Snake Sect seems to have sent an envoy to Meister, specific purpose unknown.”

“Hmm?”

“I remember the branch issued an assassination mission for Raksul; did anyone take it?” Undersecretary Colin seemed to recall something and asked.

“One moment, please, I will check.”

“Yes, the ‘Meister Siege Hammer’ squad took on the mission,” the female staffer reported back promptly.

“Hm? The newly promoted Golden Tier squad? However, this name… seems strangely familiar!” Colin’s face showed confusion.

“Yes, Lord Colin, indeed it’s a newly formed squad… The captain is Rein Carlan, the two team members are Evelyn… Captain’s profile: joined Sword Bearer… completed Bronze Tier… completed Diamond Star Tier…”

The female staffer continued reporting while her face showed a look of surprise.

“Hm? Diamond Star Tier?” Colin voiced his skepticism.

This surely did not conform to the normal pace and procedure of promotions for Sword Bearer recruits, and Colin could also discern that the opponent had completed Diamond Star Tier tasks while at the Silver Tier, which clearly had been specially approved.

“Rein? Meister Siege Hammer? I remember now! It’s that talented Sword Bearer newcomer!” Suddenly, something occurred to Colin.

But then, his expression changed as he instructed:

“Quick, issue this intelligence to the mission hall with the following annotation: Suggest immediately notifying Lord Rein that the enemy’s strength exceeds expectations and the situation has changed; the assassination mission for Raksul is to be suspended.”

“Understood, Lord Colin.”

No sooner had the female staffer left than another female staffer swiftly came to report, “Supervisor Colin, here is an urgent intelligence report from Wilshire County.”

“Read.”

“Urgent dispatch from the Observer of Wilshire County, Macken: Golden Tier Sword Bearer squad captain Lord Rein has killed Galina, the high priestess of the Black Flame Cult in Wilshire County, two Black Flame Guardians, and…”

“…completed the investigation mission for Golem guards, and furthermore, has killed a Golem guard!”

“What?” Colin showed astonishment!

No way, was this Sword Bearer newcomer Rein so powerful?

Could it be that the opponent had genuinely accomplished the Diamond Star Tier tasks based on his own abilities?

If that were the case… then perhaps this mission could indeed continue…

Immediately, Colin thought of a problem; the annotation he had just made on the previous report might not be appropriate.

Forget it, such headache-inducing matters were better left to those in the mission hall to deal with!

Colin tugged at his sparse hair, looking troubled as he said, “Send both the urgent report from Earth-shaker and this report, combined, to Lord Yumaz, the mission hall officer.”

“Um… Lord Colin, what should our annotation from the Intelligence Hall be?” the nearby female staffer asked with wide eyes.

According to regulations, any intelligence reported or transferred by the Intelligence Hall needed to include annotations.

“Suggest… let Lord Rein decide for himself!”
