Chapter 887: Katanaean(End)

Aakeshʼs eyes didnʼt move at all during the slash, and the battle was over just as quickly as it had started. After the fight came to an end, a blue light covered the entire arena.

When the blue light disappeared, the Katanaean reappeared in the arena. This time, its eyes werenʼt closed, and it stared at Aakesh with an excited expression as if it had found a toy.

The Katanaeans were so obsessed with swords that once they found someone capable enough to give them the thrill of a sword battle, they turned into monsters.

”What race do you belong to?” The Katanaean asked Aakesh, as it wanted to know the race of its opponent.

The Katanaeans were a proud race that didnʼt even submit in the face of an undefeatable enemy like Vritrasura. Arrogance was engrained in their bones, so the Katanaensʼ tone contained no hint of a civil conversation but was more like an order.

Aakesh ignored the Katanaean since the current Katanaean wasnʼt enough to demand answers from him. Aakesh was a being even more egoistic and arrogant than Kantanaeans.

After receiving no response from Aakesh, the Katanaean, instead of getting angry, laughed out loud as it liked this version of Aakesh more.

Many saw arrogance as a negative emotion, but the Katanaean didnʼt believe it. I felt it was natural. Being arrogant about oneʼs own strength was a natural thing to do.

Ding!

The Katanaeans wanted to ask again, but the sound of the bell interrupted it before it could speak.

The second round saw Aakesh taking the initiative to attack. Even less than a percent of his strength allowed him to overpower the Katanaean, so he landed the first blow.

The Katanaean, however, was not deterred after seeing Aakesh charging at it. Rather, it smiled and charged at the same time. Its movement seemed to be a graceful dance around Aakesh, its swords flashing in the violet light as it sought an opening.

Aakesh remained unfazed by the Katanaeans as when his blow landed, it directly pierced through the creatureʼs heart. Aakesh didnʼt stop as he flicked his sword up.

The next moment, a small blood cloud erupted as everything above the Katanaeanʼs heart exploded.

The Katanaean seemed to have awakened the bloodthirst of a sword battle in Aakesh, so he was no longer gentle or casual with his strikes.

(A/N: Aakesh isnʼt a kind character. He just doesnʼt like cruel battles since itʼs a waste of time, but his tendency to commit violence is always possible, as in these battles with the Katanaean. Swords duels are associated with the cruelty of mankind, so I decided to let Aakesh go wild.)

As time flew by, the number of battles increased. The result remained the same, a cruel death for the Katanaean.

With each strike, Aakesh not only went for the kill but also for the most painful and cruel outcome.

”> Only in the sixty-third round of battle did the Katanaean succeed in defending the first strike, but the second strike came even quicker and harsher than the first one, as the Katanaeanʼs head got cut into countless little pieces.

The battle raged on for ninety-eight rounds, with Aakesh one-sidedly massacring the Katanaean every round.

But in the ninety-eighth round, things changed. The Katanaeanʼs movements became even more graceful and precise, and it began to anticipate Aakeshʼs attacks. Aakesh found himself on the defensive for the first time, but before it could make him struggle Aakesh decided to end this battle and go for a stronger Katanaean.

Aakesh raised his sword and made three clashes at once. When all three clashed combined, black light in the shape of a triangle the size of a football appeared in front of Aakeshʼs chest.

Aakesh then made the gesture of piercing through the center of the triangle.

The next moment, the entire arena began to crack as sword cuts of different intensities spread everywhere.

In no time, both the Katanaean and the arena turned into a mess. Pieces that couldnʼt be seen anymore by naked eyes covered the ruined arena, which had now turned violet.

It was the ultimate skill available to Aakesh in this round. If someone were to look clearly at every piece scattered around the now-ruined arena, they would find it in the shape of a triangle with a hole in between, the same pattern as what Aakesh had formed.

Time flew by, and the ninety-ninth round began. It was another win for Aakesh. It didnʼt come as easy as the ninety-eighth round, but still, it didnʼt prove a lot of struggle for Aakesh.

When the battle ended, the arena had turned violet once again, and Aakesh had a few shallow injuries on his chest.

The Katanaean had come closest to winning when its sword succeeded in reaching Aakeshʼs chest, but Aakesh didnʼt let the creature go any further, and he won the battle in the end.

The hundredth round was a grueling test in a cruel battle for both warriors. Both of them fought with everything they had, their swords clashing and flashing in a blur of motion. Their movements had long exceeded the speed of light, so they all seemed to be all over the arena in different positions at different times. Only the sound of their clash proved that they were even battling.

In the end, Aakeshʼs strength and unlimited endurance won out, and he managed to land the last blow that brought the Katanaean to its end.

At that time, the arena was nowhere to be found, as even the space had turned into nothingness. If not for the light glowing from the sword, the entire space would be similar to a void.

Aakeshʼs skin had turned bluer as blood continuously flew from the numerous injuries spread across his body.

The most severe was the disappearance of a large chunk of meat from his neck.

In the one hundred and first round, the Katanaean fought with unprecedented vigor. At that point, the roles of Aakesh and the creature had been reversed. Its swords seemed to blur, and Aakesh found himself unable to defend himself.

Soon after the battle began, the Katanaean disarmed him by cutting the sword arm with its first strike. Aakesh attempted to call the sword to his left hand when that arm fell to the ground.

In no time, Aakeshʼs body had fallen to the ground in different parts.
