The First Store System

Chapter 866: Fear!

There was no sense of time while Aakesh meditated, as he lost himself wholly in that feeling.

As the energy leaking from the stone melted into Aakesh, he felt a comfortable feeling wash over his body.

[Host, the sun is about to rise in Thorr City!]

The systemʼs emotionless voice broke Aakesh out of his meditation as it informed him.

Aakesh opened his eyes and looked at the Sacred stone floating near the area between his eyebrows. Aakesh could see that it had shrunk compared to yesterday.

The next moment, a blue screen telling Aakesh about his progress through the meditation appeared.

”Hey, system, only inform me about my progress whenever my absorption rate increases,” Aakesh told the system, and he waved his hands.

[Yes, Host!]

The next moment, the blue screen disappeared, and Aakesh stood up from his meditation.

Time flew by, and the sun rose on Thorr City. With it, the darkness returned to its hiding place while biding its time.

At the same time, the store on Seventeenth Street also opened its door.

It had only been a few days since the killing by the store owner, so the fear was still fresh in the minds of the people on 17th Street.

At the same time, curiosity had also risen in the peopleʼs hearts as the store owner was a non-demon. Who would know better about the Demon than the Demon themselves?

Thorrons were one of the branches of the Demon race, so the arrogance of being from the Demon race was also engraved in their bones. How could they digest the fact that a non-demon killed several demons in front of everyone, and there were no consequences for that? They didnʼt care who was right or wrong; they only cared about why the non-demon was still alive.

Due to this question about the non-demon store owner, many people became interested in knowing about the store owner. If he was still alive, it could only mean two things; either his background was terrifying, or he was someone who was strong himself.

The rumors about the non-demonʼs links with the city lord had already spread across Seventeenth Street. But no one took them seriously in the early phases, as the inhabitants believed that the city lord would never have any contact with non-demons. But after seeing the city not act against him, the people began to believe what they heard.

When Aakesh opened the door to his store, he found a figure waiting there.

It was none other than Favan. After Aakesh returned to his chair, Favan also followed inside.

Favan first greeted Aakesh and then paid for his entry to Panagea today. Aakesh took the money, and Favan left.

Favan had only reached the door of the portal room when he heard footsteps inside the store.

Favan believed the owners of the footsteps to be his competitors, so he stopped and turned around to take a look at them.

He froze in his steps when he found out the identity of the person. It wasnʼt one person, but two. But one of them was carried by the other, so only the sound of a single personʼs footsteps had risen.

ʼWhat is he doing here?ʼ Favan pondered in his heart.

Favan didnʼt let any emotion show on his face, but inside he was shell-shocked since the man was none other than Garounʼs father.

Even in his dream, Favan didnʼt expect Garounʼs father to be visiting this store. There was a doubt in his heart that it was the first time the father had come here, but when he saw how familiarly the father went to the store owner, his heart turned cold.

When Favan had told Aakesh about Garounʼs plotting against the store, he had taken the Divine Lordʼs fatherʼs reaction into account.

Favan had hoped for the Divine Lordʼs father to end the same way his son did, in the hands of the store owner. But the fatherʼs becoming a customer of the store subverted his expectations.

From the way the father talked to the store owner, it didnʼt seem like there was any enmity between them. But Favanʼs safety had depended on it.

The store owner had the capability and background to end the fatherʼs life, but he himself was only a late Divine Transformation level cultivator.

Although his mother was a member of a high-level organization, she was only a low-level member. The organization would never care for what happened to Favan.

Although the father learned of his sonʼs death, he was powerless to do anything to the store owner, which showed the ownerʼs terrifying capability. But once the father even caught a whiff of him being the whistleblower that resulted in Garounʼs death, Favan didnʼt even dare imagine what would happen to him.

Although only the store owner knew about him being the whistleblower, nobody knew what could happen in the future.

Favan didnʼt enter Panagea right away but waited for the man and his unconscious partner to enter first.

Garos find it surprising that the man in front of them stopped, but since he didnʼt care much, he stopped thinking about it and entered the portal room.

Favan heaved a sigh of relief as Garounʼs father entered the room. When Garounʼs father looked at him, he felt a heavy pressure attacking him.

Fortunately for him, the pressure in Panagea helped him stay calm, so no expression showed on his face.

Favan then hurriedly approached Aakesh. Aakesh was going to close his eyes, but he sensed Favanʼs approach, so he didnʼt and looked at him.

Favan couldnʼt hold his calm expression any longer, so his terrified face showed itself in front of Aakesh.

”I wonʼt tell on you,” Aakesh suddenly stated expressionlessly.

Even before Favan could say anything, Aakesh understood what he wanted to say.

Favan was the one who had told him about Garoun trying to sabotage the store, and Garos was Garounʼs father.

Even though Garos couldnʼt take revenge on Aakesh, he could kill Favan to feel better.

Aakesh wasnʼt the one to speak needlessly, but he still told Favan as his information had helped the store establish itself in the eyes of others. Aakesh wasnʼt going to harm someone who helped the store.

Favan felt a wave of relief pass over his body after he heard Aakesh. The respect for Aakesh grew even deeper in his heart.
