Chapter 850: A Mysterious Ritual!

Aakesh couldnʼt help but raise his eyes in surprise when his sight fell on one of the vials just taken out by the Red-spotted Demon.

The demon had taken out a few hundred vials in total, with each vial containing the blood of a different creature. It was only a drop of blood in each bottle.

What made Aakesh surprised was the vial containing the gray drop of blood. From the blood, Aakesh got the sense that it belonged to a Demon, but that wasnʼt what made Aakesh surprised.

It was the energy leaking from the drop of blood. Aakesh was sure that this drop of blood came from a Divine level Demon.

In Panagea, those from Level 100 to Level 250 were considered legendary lifeforms; those from 250 to 500 were Mythical lifeforms; and those who had crossed Level 500 were called Divine lifeforms.

The experience required to level up grew ten times, starting from Level 100, so it could be seen just from that how difficult it was to reach Level 500. The more difficult it was, the more strength the cultivator gained.

The initial price alone would be enough for someone to own generational wealth if that drop of blood were sold in the market. Meanwhile, many state wars would be outclassed by the fights the drop would cause.

Aakesh activated the skill Energy Overseer, and when he looked at the drop of blood again. He felt a change. The energy still looked to be from a Divine level lifeform, but there was a difference in purity. The drop of blood looked to be diluted by about one-hundredth.

Even then, the energy leaking from the drop of blood was enough to create tears in the space around the vial. The Red-spotted Demon was trembling as he placed the vial on the altar with a lot of struggle.

It had only taken the demon less than a second due to the expensive material used in making of the vial, but still, his hand was bloodied as his veins had ruptured.

As he took his hands back, the injury began to heal at an unprecedented rate. When the demon took another vial of blood out of his space ring, the wounds had entirely disappeared, and things had returned to normal.

After matching the number of vials to the number of imprinted fiends on the altar, the demon took a knife out from his space ring.

As the knife came out, the space seemed to burn. Gritting his teeth, the demon began to cut his fingers one by one.

The demon wanted to scream as the knife not only cut his finger but also his soul, but he controlled himself, and what came out was only a groan.

A bucket of blood poured into the imprinted fiend as he took medicine out of his space ring and ate it.

Color returned to his face as his cut finger regenerated, while the soul injury had also healed.

Aakesh, on the other hand, had his curiosity piqued. The medicine used by the demon was something that only the rich could afford. From the way the ritual was going, Aakesh was sure that cutting one finger was only the start.

As Aakesh had expected, a few seconds later, the Red-spotted Demon repeated the process. He cut his finger and sacrificed it to another imprinted fiend. The demon then took another medicine out and devoured it.

Time flew by, and several minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

The demon continued to cut his finger and sacrifice it to the imprinted fiends on the altar one by one, and then he would devour the medicine.

Aakesh couldnʼt help but become shocked since the number of medicines he had eaten would cost trillions of great Soul stones. Even Aakesh hadnʼt seen that kind of wealth up to this point.

In exchange terms, one great Soul stone was equal to a billion ordinary Soul stones, whereas one ordinary Soul stone was equal to one million low Soul stones.

Aakesh couldnʼt fathom where this demon acquired so much wealth to spend on such a ritual. Keep in mind that it was only the cost of medicines. The materials the demon had used at the ritualʼs beginning were also rare and expensive.

At the same time, Aakeshʼs heart grew excited as well. The way things were going on, it seemed nothing short of once a million years event. Aakesh could only imagine what rewards he would get from witnessing this event. He was sure about only one thing, if the demon didnʼt die, his class would become Mythical today.

Only one fiend was left to sacrifice on the altar. It was also the fiend that had received the diluted blood.

The demonʼs eyes suddenly turned solemn, as this time, instead of cutting his finger, he aimed the knife at his heart.

The Red-spotted Demons had their hearts in their throats. The size of the heart didnʼt do justice to the size of the creatures, but nature had always been mystical. It made the impossible possible.

Aakeshʼs eyes turned grave since if something happened to the demon, it didnʼt matter what the result of the ritual would be. He would gain nothing from witnessing the event after the candidateʼs death.

Aakesh wanted to intervene, but intervening at this point meant the failure of the ritual. It was also not what Aakesh wanted. If the demon survived and the ritual failed, he would still get nothing since the golden fate lines were surely connected to the success of the ritual.

Aakesh couldnʼt help but activate the skills Universal Eye and Fortune Eye after that. The next moment, a projection appeared in front of him.

As Aakesh looked at the demonʼs fate lines, he found a unique scene. The number of black lines had grown severalfold, while the number of golden lines was the same as earlier. What made Aakesh surprised was the lack of red lines. There wasnʼt even a single red fate line connected to the demon. It only meant one thing: either the demon would survive and win great, or the demon would die. There was no in-between at this stage.

Aakesh gained no confidence after looking at the projection, so believing in the demonʼs judgment, he stared at the demon, pushing the knife into his heart.
