The First Store System

Chapter 828: Win and Loss!

”Whatʼs your name?” The first general asked as he reached the non-demon. His tone neither respectful nor disrespectful.

The people on the street couldnʼt help but widen their eyes as they never expected the general to be this considerate when talking to a criminal, and a non-demon at that.

”You bastard, where did your usual haughtiness go?” Someone on the street suddenly shouted.

”They are so arrogant when they talk to us, but look at him talking to the criminal that way.”

...” Why donʼt you marry the females in your family to the non-demon?”

In no time, the peopleʼs words took a nasty turn.

The first general, already feeling uncomfortable with the non-demonʼs approach, exploded in anger as he fully released his aura.

The people on the street couldnʼt help but cough blood as a sudden pressure attacked them.

”If even a word comes out of their mouths, tie that bastard and beat them. Only stop when one more hit would result in their death,” The first general turned around and ordered the soldiers under him.

For a moment, the soldier and the people were taken aback by the order, but when the soldiers looked at the cruel eyes of their leader, they surrounded the street right away.

In the crowd, many were outraged by the sudden order, and one even dared to go against it.

The soldiers, not daring to refuse the generalʼs order, reprimanded the man and beat him as the general had ordered.

”You bastards, just because you canʼt do anything to that non-demon, you are hitting us,” The man cried indignantly, but soon the sound of screams devoured his abuses.

The soldiers were also feeling uncomfortable due to not being able to do anything to the non-demon, so they also vented their anger. The soldiers specifically avoided vitals to increase the number of hits they could land on the man.

When the people on the street saw the scene, they shuddered due to fright. Many even ran away.

The other generals calmly looked at the ongoing scene. Even they ordered their soldiers to do the same since they couldnʼt take any risks. If the first general did something that he shouldnʼt in a fit of anger, everything would crash, and the outcome would be the same they were dreading and trying to stop it from turning into reality.

Aakesh, being in close proximity to the general, also felt some pressure on him. But the first general knew his limits at the moment, so soon the pressure turned into a breeze and only affected the people on the street.

As for the consequences of his order, the first general didnʼt care about it. His survival was at stake here, and he wasnʼt going to ruin it just because of a few useless people.

The general even thought of killing all the people, but he controlled his anger since it would mean a sure death punishment from the city administration.

”Whatʼs your name?” The first general asked again while his tone remained the same as earlier.

”I am Aakesh,” Aakesh responded.

If it were before, Aakesh would have ignored the question. But when he heard the order, he decided not to be too difficult. He understood the consequences of the order since he had learned about the city administration.

Unaware that his order was going to make things less difficult for him, the first general extended his hand and introduced himself.

”I am Ricky, one of the generals.”

”Look, we donʼt want to make things difficult for you, but you have to understand us as well,” Ricky, the first general began to speak immediately. He wanted to bring an end to this situation as soon as possible. Talking with the non-demon felt like he was talking to some senior who could crush him with only a finger.

In reality, Aakesh was older than Ricky. Even if his forgotten past life was excluded, he had still lived for more than eighty thousand years, while Ricky was only around thirty thousand years old. As for the strength, Ricky felt it due to the vast difference between their bloodline.

Since the strength gap between the two parties hadnʼt reached where Aakesh didnʼt even have a chance of survival, the bloodline difference was as clear as day. If there were to be a Divine Lord in place of Ricky, they would have felt nothing due to their vast power difference.

Even the weakest Divine Lord had a strength of around a thousand Sacred units, which was impossible for the current Aakesh to match.

Forcing the feeling down his heart, Ricky continued to speak, ”Itʼs our duty to guard the city, and we canʼt allow you to go unchallenged even if you know the city lord.”

”We also understand that since your background is something that has direct contact with the city lord, so if you have a reason for your actions, state it,” Ricky stated.

The people on the street had their eyes widen into shock as they finally understood the reason behind the soldierʼs actions. The majority of the people had a knowing expression, even though they were scoffing at the generals on the inside.

Favan, who was also on the street, couldnʼt help but scoff after hearing the general. He had been inside Panagea. For not even a moment, Favan accepted that the city lord was capable enough to have connections with the store ownerʼs unfathomable background. Favan believed the store owner had only come here for enjoyment and had nothing to do with the city lord.

Aakesh was surprised when he heard about the general speaking about his connection to the city lord. He didnʼt know of any such association. But he didnʼt refuse the general and continued to listen.

In the end, Aakeshʼs eyes lightened up when he heard the general asking for a reason behind his actions. Aakesh understood that the generals wanted to give both of them a way.

Even though the people on the street had knowing expressions after they heard the general, Aakesh could sense what the people felt inside. If Aakesh gave a sufficient reason, not only the citizens would cheer for him, but he would also gain the friendship of the city guards.

Rickyʼs eyes were nervous as he waited for Aakeshʼs response. He believed he had already stated his intentions. Now, he could only hope for Aakesh to be a reasonable person and not make things difficult for him.

Aakesh stated his reason behind killing Garoun and his goons. The reason he had for doing this was different than the soldiers.

Aakesh had learned that Garounʼs father was a Divine Lord, so he would surely have a large amount of wealth.

Aakesh wanted a portion of that to soothe his angry heart for leaving the store and killing Garoun. Aakesh couldnʼt help but feel uncomfortable after having such thoughts.

But since he wasnʼt at wrong, Aakesh told the soldiers about Garounʼs father and how he wanted compensation.
