Chapter 844: A Battle between Archers(2)

As the Elf crashed to the ground after her brain got pierced by the wind, the round resulted in a win for Aakesh.

A wave of blue light passed over the battlefield, and soon, everything froze as if even time had stopped moving.

The familiar blue screen popped in front of Aakesh, and similar to previous times, his hand acted before he even needed to think.

The next moment, everything returned to normal as the light disappeared. With it, the arena returned to normal.

Unlike other combatants, the Elf didnʼt seem to be angry that she had died due to the limit on her power level. She instead felt excited. Her gaze toward Aakesh was the same as a hunterʼs gaze toward its prey.

Not long after, the bell rang, announcing the start of the second stage.

Similar to the last time, Aakesh announced his intentions to the Elf. He gave her three strikes with the same condition of one meter.

Time flew by.

The result this time was the same as the last time, as Aakesh still didnʼt use an arrow. This time also, Aakesh used the wave released from the stringʼs release to kill the Elf.

Time continued to fly, and the number of rounds also grew linearly.

Until the twenty-third round, Aakesh maintained the same stretching distance with some variation in his strength and release of the string.

Still, not a single arrow breached the radius of one meter around Aakesh. After that, Aakeshʼs stretching distance increased, almost reaching enough distance for a palm to pass through the gap between the string and the bow.

In the fifty-seventh round, Aakesh fully released the string for the first time. Even until then, he hadnʼt used a single arrow.

As the Elfʼs strength grew with each round, her gaze toward Aakesh became hotter. Even though the battle continued to be one-sided in Aakeshʼs favor, she still enjoyed it since her skills were being put to full use.

At the same time, she was also seeing Aakeshʼs limit in archery. Without the arrow, Aakesh had been skillfully using his release techniques to win until now.

The Elf had a feeling that once Aakesh reached the same level as what her actual body had, she would be no match for Aakesh when it came to archery.

Instead of feeling down about this conjecture of hers, she grew excited. The Cosmic Elves wanted a challenger for their archery to grow as well.

The leader of the Cosmic Elves had one in Arjuna, but the other members didnʼt have one. Arjuna was too strong for them to learn anything, and others were too weak for them to even use their full strength and skills.

In the fifty-ninth round, Aakesh finally used an arrow. He only used it once, and that was to kill the Elf.

The use of the arrows became a regular occurrence after that round.

The Elf wasnʼt the only one getting excited by the battle. Aakesh felt the same. Aakesh could sense that winning the same number of matches he had won with the spear or a pair of gloves was almost impossible.

The Elf was the toughest opponent Aakesh had faced in training since he began. Even the second most challenging opponent according to Aakesh wasnʼt even one-tenth of what Aakesh was facing today.

As the number of rounds increased, the strength difference between the two parties started to decrease.

Even though Aakesh only used an arrow for the first time in the fifty-ninth round, he was forced to use his first skill in the sixty-third round, only five stages later.

When the battle reached the seventy-fourth round, Aakesh had begun to regularly use skills.

It didnʼt mean that the battle was challenging. The contest continued to be one-sided, but since Aakesh continued with his initiative to hand the Elf three first strikes, it made the battle longer than it should have been in the first place.

Clang clang clang!

Clang clang clang!

Sounds of metallic clashes rang in the area as Aakeshʼs arrows clashed with the Elfʼs shots.

It was the third strike by the Elf, after which Aakesh would strike.

Since breaching the radius of one meter around Aakesh would result in Aakesh giving the three strikes to the Elf, she used her ultimate skill available to her at this round.

The arrowhead was in the shape of a spherical device, which released further arrows.

In the time it took for the arrow to reach half the distance between Aakesh and the Elf, there were already thousands of arrows following it.

Since there were so many arrows, if even one succeeded in breaching the one-meter radius, it would be the Elfʼs win.

Unlike the previous times, Aakesh didnʼt wait for the arrows to reach him. This time, he took the initiative earlier.

Aakeshʼs shooting rate was even higher than the rate at which the Elfʼs arrow released arrows.

When the arrow was only one meter away from the breaching mark, Aakesh used a skill.

As the stretching came to a stop after it touched the bridge of Aakeshʼs nose, an arrow began to take shape, starting from its tail.

In no time, an arrow, straight like a rod, with a zigzag pattern like a thunder strike at the arrowhead position, appeared.

BOOM!

Aakesh released the string, and the arrow left the bow. As if thunder had struck, the arrow made such a sound while flying through the air.

When the Elfʼs shot was only 90 cm away from the breaching mark, Aakeshʼs arrow collided with it.

The Elfʼs face changed, but then it returned to normal.

As she had expected, the zigzag arrowhead grew into a large purple thunderbolt. It destroyed the arrow in no time, and it still had power left, so it flew toward its next target, the Elf.

The Elf wasnʼt going to die without fighting, so she began to shoot arrow after arrow to consume the power of the thunder strike.

But suddenly, an arrow rain also appeared from the other side.

The arrow rain did nothing but clear the path for the thunder strike to hit its target.

A smile spread across the Elfʼs face as she saw the thunder approaching her.

Boom!

Not long after, the thunder strike crashed onto the Elf, creating a large mushroom cloud.

When the dust from the arena settled down, a pit with a depth of a few hundred meters welcomed Aakeshʼs sight.

Aakesh didnʼt even have to check his result as a blue light covered the arena, announcing the eighty-sixth straight victory for Aakesh.

Aakesh could sense that the strength of the Elf was growing severalfold with each passing round.

When the blue screen appeared in front of Aakesh, he tapped on the screen to go to the eighty-seventh round.

His eyes were calm, but whoever looked at them would easily be able to tell that it wasnʼt the usual calm but the calm before the storm.
