Chapter 847: Situation Reversal!

As the space around the Elf disintegrated, she found herself back on the stage. Her eyes fell on her adversary, and she could already sense the power gap between them.

Aakeshʼs strength would be constant from the start. It only depended on him in terms of what level of force he wanted to use.

When the duo competed in the previous round, they were both on equal footing, but Aakesh ultimately prevailed. But this time, the Elf was several times stronger than Aakesh, while he was at the same level.

[Ding!]

The bell rang, announcing the start of the ninety-eighth stage.

Aakesh wanted to take the initiative, so he got ready to take the first shot when he suddenly stopped as he found the Elf approaching him.

”Now that our roles have reversed, I will give you three strikes.”

”If you succeed in breaching the 90 cm mark, I will give you two shots, and if even then you succeed, I will give you one shot. I will accept defeat for this round if you successfully breach the mark even at that stage.” The Elf announced. Her conditions were even stricter than Aakeshʼs.

When Aakesh announced his conditions, he didnʼt allow him to accept defeat, but if Aakesh succeeded in breaching the 90 cm mark three times in at most six shots, he would automatically win the battle.

The conditions had reversed. Earlier, Aakesh was the one giving free strikes to his opponent, but now the opponent was doing it.

Aakesh didnʼt accept the condition right away since he wanted to make sure that it was the only way he could defeat the Elf. Aakesh discovered the answer as he started comparing this round to the previous one and observing the Elfʼs improvement. He wouldnʼt be able to defeat her in a straight fight.

After finding his answer, Aakesh made his choice and accepted Aakeshʼs condition.

Suddenly the aura around him changed. He didnʼt speak anything, but the Elf got the answer. She suddenly teleported back to her spot and got in position to face the attack.

BOOM!

The sky rumbled as Aakesh released the arrow. Thunderclouds began to appear, and in no time, it started raining. Each raindrop was like an arrow in itself as it created a pit wherever it hit the ground.

In no time, the untouched arena had turned into ruins. Since Aakesh got three strikes, he needed to use them well.

In this round, Aakesh had three chanting arrows. But since he wanted to increase his chances of breaching that 90 cm mark, he used a non-chanting skill.

While the sky was raining arrows in the form of raindrops, the arrow flew toward the Elf, tearing through the air.

The distance between the two parties was around a hundred thousand miles, but the distance seemed to be nothing, as even in less than a blink of an eye, the arrow was a few meters away from the breaching mark.

Since the rain followed the arrow, the Elf finally came into contact with the downpour. The ninety cm breaching mark was in all directions, so in no time, countless raindrops were only a few cm away from the breaching mark.

Suddenly the aura around the Elf changed as even the wind began to move backward, slightly slowing the downpour. The Elf suddenly raised her bow, aiming at the arrow.

She seemed to be unaffected by the raindrops that were about to breach the said mark. An arrow formed in no time when the Elf stretched the bowstring.

The arrowhead was in the shape of a burning flame, and as the Elf let go of the string, the space of a thousand miles around her melted like butter. Aakeshʼs shot and countless raindrops faced the same result.

The next moment, the Elf was the only one standing in a radius of a thousand miles. It seemed as if she were floating since there was nothing below her feet.

Aakesh seemed to not care about the outcome as it was expected. There was no way Aakesh was going to succeed in his first attempt when the Elf had announced the condition so proudly.

Aakesh got ready for his second strike. As he stretched the bowstring, the sky began to rumble louder and louder.

When it was time for the arrow to form, seven arrows appeared at once, and they were the same as the last one Aakesh had used.

One strike meant one shot, and it was up to Aakesh how many arrows he could release in that one shot.

When the Elf saw the seven arrows forming one after another, she couldnʼt help but raise her eyes in surprise. The burden on the soul for using seven of these arrows couldnʼt be explained in words.

Time flew by, and Aakeshʼs three chances came to an end.

As the result presented itself, Aakesh felt a slight disappointment. But he soon stopped thinking about it since there was no point brooding over it. Only one thing would help him train and surpass his limits.

”Itʼs my turn,” The Elf announced as the three strikes had come to an end.

The Elf thought of using the same technique Aakesh had used in earlier stages to kill her, but she found herself too weak to achieve that at the ninety-eighth round. She would most likely be able to do it in the one-hundredth round.

The Elf already knew the rules that once the participant died, the battle would end. She felt a slight sense of jealousy toward Aakesh since not many would get the same treatment as him when it came to training.

The Elf wasnʼt going to be lenient toward Aakesh, so she decided to end the battle in a single strike. But before that, she hadnʼt forgotten her promise.

The Elf had promised Aakesh that if he made her enjoy the battle of archery, she would tell him her name.

She had actually enjoyed the ninety-seventh battle, so before making her shot, her gentle voice rang in Aakeshʼs ears.

”I am Selena!”

Soon after hearing the voice, Aakesh saw an arrow with a force that had never been seen before approaching him.

Aakesh used whatever he could at that moment to defend. He somehow succeeded, but not long after, another arrow came and took his life.
