Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1043: Chapter 149: Collaboration 3

Leviathan Giant Beasts, one of the Space Giant Beasts, reach asteroid scale in adulthood, and some leader?class individuals can even grow to planet level.

Every type of Space Giant Beast is a gene treasury; their intellectual level is by no means inferior to most Intelligent Species. They know how to survive, how to better adapt to their environment.

And the ”half?human, half?whale” Leviathan before them is the spokesperson pushed out by the Leviathan Giant Beast Tribe. The reason they chose him is largely due to the cooperation between the Leviathan Giant Beasts and the Galen Republic: the Republic’s latest model of biological super?battleship was designed with reference to Leviathan Giant Beasts’ size and structure, and the latter even donated some precious biological cells.

So this Humanoid Leviathan defeated the other candidates and became the Galen Republic’s personally designated representative.

For Space Giant Beasts, this kind of Space Species, because of their enormous size and extremely high external energy demand, their bodies have naturally Solidified ”Carbon Fusion.”

In other words, as Space Species, they are in a state of Carbon Fusion at every moment.

And every single Leviathan Giant Beast is equivalent to a permanently sustained Tier 3 Powerhouse.

The level of support the Leviathan Tribe is giving this one clearly serves as an important evaluation criterion.

The half?man, half?beast Giant before them exhaled like lightning, his swallowed breath like thunder. After a brief silence, he said:

”Our tribe is willing to support another 100 adult clansmen.”

”Oh~”

The Collector spoke meaningfully.

Previously, in order to take Long-horned Whale Alpha, the Leviathan Tribe had provided a full 500 adult Leviathans. Yet under a single blast from the Planet Cannon, more than half the adult Giant Beasts were directly reduced to dust, and even this one was severely wounded on the spot; who knows if he has fully recovered.

For any Space Giant Beast Tribe, losing 500 adult clansmen is a colossal loss.

After all, Space Giant Beasts are not exactly famous for being prolific breeders.

The Collector ultimately did not increase his investment. Even though the planetary coordinates of Long-horned Whale Alpha have already been discovered, even though after firing one Planet Cannon shot, in the short term the Walter Clan will most likely be unable to launch a second.

The prerequisite for using a Planet Cannon is a fully mechanized planet, which is not easy to achieve for a Star Thief Influence.

After this ”Giant” stormed off in anger, a strange voice sounded again.

”Your choice is correct. I can feel his injuries haven’t healed.”

”He’s racing against time. Public opinion within the Federation is surging; the upper echelons of the Federation must give the masses an explanation. Only by seizing this planet before the Federation takes action does he have any chance of keeping this fruit.”

The Collector paused for a moment, then suddenly shifted the topic:

”But that’s not why I refused to invest in him. According to my projections, if there is no external interference, this Leviathan Giant has a decent chance of taking Long-horned Whale Alpha in the second Planet War. Even if Old Walter manages to restart the Planet Cannon, with that freakish Evolution ability of Space Giant Beasts, they will most likely have already evolved a means of defending against attacks of that magnitude.”

”Then why didn’t you agree? Now that you’ve offended him, doesn’t that mean all your previous investment has gone down the drain?” The voice asked doubtfully.

”The reason is simple: there are already people backing this Leviathan Giant, more than one faction. Interstellar Financial Tycoons, a certain military group from the Galen Republic, a certain Interstellar Organization—these forces are troublesome. I’m not interested in sharing a pot with them.”

”Since he already has support, why did he still come specifically to seek your help? Is he trying to achieve some kind of balance?”

The Collector’s gaze turned distant:

”Who knows? Maybe it’s to spread risk, maybe it’s fishing for something, maybe he just wants an extra layer of insurance.”

”But I’ve never liked troublesome business.”

”Then you won’t be able to swallow the benefits of this Resource Planet. Without enough resources, I’m afraid you won’t be able to return to the path of the supreme, will you?”

”Heh, not necessarily.” Pai Daxing chuckled, his pink tentacle tapping lightly as one after another Holographic Projection popped up—it was footage of the Broken Realm, and within the scene were countless Player silhouettes.

”Who said I only invest in one party? Compared to Space Giant Beasts with complicated backgrounds, I prefer clean?background businessmen.”

Very coincidentally, Pai Daxing’s Communication Device rang; a name, ”Cybertron,” popped up.

”Interesting, here we go.”

...

After hanging up, Gao Gong said directly to Qin Zhenzii:

”The Collector has already agreed to send me the new coordinates for Long-horned Whale Alpha. Once I receive them, I’ll rendezvous directly with the fleet. You stay here and maintain contact with us at all times.”

Qin Zhenzii nodded. Having this workplace Witch handle business warfare was fine, but in a proper interstellar war, she wouldn’t be of much use.

However, she still suggested, ”I’ve gotten acquainted with some mercenary forces that have decent reputations lately. Should we spend money to hire them? Although these days, the prices of all mercenaries have gone up tenfold.”

”No need,” Gao Gong rejected flatly. He has no interest in scheming against a bunch of faction leaders. Once we locate the planet, we’ll rely on the 4th Celestial Calamity to take it, then rely on the Civilization Panel to madly boost the Technology Tree—that’s the true king’s path. After all, even in Interstellar Society, there’s a saying that still holds:

All fear stems from insufficient firepower.

Yet although Gao Gong said he didn’t need reinforcements, reinforcements still came—and more than one group at that.

In the vacuum of the Cosmos, a massive Interstellar Fleet was migrating.

Since they weren’t following a standard route, they could easily encounter blockers—maybe a large asteroid, maybe a heap of Spaceport wreckage—but under the firepower suppression of Arc Energy Cannons and Dark Energy Tracking Cannons, anything standing in their way was completely Annihilated by tens of thousands of Energy Cannons.

The Players who had grabbed the Starship Gunner positions were having the time of their lives right now.

”爽爽爽, pure爽, my gunning skill just leveled up to Level 4—no, Level 5!”

”They say once it hits Level 6, you won’t just be able to fire from inside the ship; you can man the cannons outside the Starship (on mechanical platforms).”

”Hey, if Gunner goes all the way to the top, does that mean we get to fire Star-Destroying Cannons?”

”Cannon this, cannon that, you shoot cannons every day—aren’t you afraid of kidney failure?”

That was the jealous rant of a Player on the sidelines.

”Huh, looks like there’s something ahead. Let me fire off a shot and then we’ll talk.”

But very soon he discovered the weapon systems had been directly locked, followed by a System Prompt tone.

[You cannot attack allied units]

”What, we have allied units?”

”What’s an ally—can you eat it?”

”Does it show a Blood Bar?”

The Players’ eagerness for battle manifested as wanting to kick even stray dogs on the roadside. Fortunately, Gao Gong had long understood this bunch’s nature, so he only opened the Spaceship’s weapon system permissions up to Level 2. If anything happened, the ship’s AI would immediately take over.

Meanwhile, on the Virtual Level, Gao Yuanyuan ’saw’ matrix after mechanical Matrix, and beneath those matrices, an endless Mechanical Army.

”The Planet Host’s Computational Power—no, there’s an even more dangerous Power.”

From the blood?red Electronic Eyes of those Robots, Gao Yuanyuan glimpsed an extremely dangerous presence.

From the initial mechanical revolution to the Intelligent Machinery Crisis, the power of the Mechanical Revolution has so far only lain in activating, replicating, and producing AI Consciousness—in essence, it still belongs to ”Consciousness Manipulation of machinery.” But once it reaches the 3rd Mechanical Revolution, the ”Mechanical Cage,” mechanical power will reverse direction and begin suppressing information itself.
