Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1036: Chapter 142: Soul-Sucking Monster 1

The former General Cybertron was the Red Flower Double Staff under the Purple Giant Star, following this Mechanical Sovereign through countless interstellar battles, engaging with numerous powerful forces.

Similarly, Tier 3 Spark Mechanism like Lord Celestis was also the Double Flower Red Staff under General Cybertron, having participated in numerous interstellar wars, and even several Advanced Civilization Wars - as cannon fodder, of course.

Such experiences made his experience incredibly rich, and just one glance was enough to confirm who had made a move.

Lord Celestis rubbed his thick fingers, and threads of Spark flames emerged, landing on the withered tree root.

Then the unbelievable happened; the flame split in two, with about one-third of the Spark being devoured by the tree root, and the remaining two-thirds disappearing into the void.

”Huh?” Venus seemed to realize something, the female-shaped Mechanical Life hesitantly said:

”Soul-Sucking Monster?”

”Hmph, it’s those soul remnants!!” Lord Celestis swore.

This surprised everyone, knowing that among these Mechanical Lives, this Mechanical Leader was famously polite and courteous to everyone.

What kind of monster could provoke such profanity from him?

Venus shook her head and began to explain.

The ’Soul-Sucking Monster’ is classified as an ’Energy Species’ within the four systems, but it is universally detested by all energy creatures, because this thing cannot be communicated with, cannot be expelled, exhibits a group effect, and feeds on all forms of energy. The higher the energy level, the more it attracts them, and it can even consume Dark Matter.

Once the ’Soul-Sucking Monster’ reaches a certain number, it can directly devour a Star System, feeding from the periphery and causing massive space collapses, destroying tens of thousands of civilizations.

Energy Parasite, Evil God Race, Soul Calamity.

These are all the ’reputable’ names of the ’Soul-Sucking Monster’.

Moreover, this creature not only absorbs energy but also prefers devouring souls.

Like the ’AI Spark’ of the Spark Mechanism, it is the best food for them.

Since Lord Celestis’ memory began, the most brutal battle was a mission to eliminate a ’Million’ strong Soul-Sucking Monster legion.

That battle remains fresh in the memories of all Spark Mechanisms.

All their energy weapons could not harm the opponent, nor could their defensive systems protect against the Soul-Sucking Monster.

These Soul-Sucking Monsters consumed the Sparks in one bite, their prideful ’Mechanical Disaster Corps’ was not only ineffective but was almost entirely wiped out.

Finally, several Planet Hosts had to collectively issue a ’Black Hole Weapon Application’, deploying black holes at the space coordinates of the Soul-Sucking Monster legion, trapping them using the ’Temporal Vacuum’ inside the black hole.

But this could only suppress and not kill.

In the batch produced with Lord Celestis, over half of the Advanced Mechanical Lives perished.

”The Soul-Sucking Monster can contend with the ’Cosmic Evil God’ for souls,” mused Venus.

Her production sequence followed after Lord Celestis’, so she missed that earth-shattering battle, but she knew that afterward, all war sequence Planet Computers were issued a ’Mechanical Command’ hard-coded into their systems; upon encountering a Soul-Sucking Monster legion, do not engage or communicate, immediately apply for a remote black hole dimensional strike.

”Fortunately, once Soul-Sucking Monsters reach a certain number limit, they will only consume each other rather than evolve into civilizations. Otherwise, this Cosmos’s Calamity Civilization might gain another variant, and this would likely deliver a devastating blow to Mechanical Civilization.”

Venus paused, intending to say more, but suddenly noticed the crowd staring at her with scared expressions, prompting a playful smile on her silicon-based face.

”Alright, don’t be scared, firstly, we’re not sure the enemy is indeed a Soul-Sucking Monster, and even if it is, it would be the lowest level Soul-Sucking Monster, far from the Star System-consuming Stellar-sized Soul-Sucking Monster.”

”Tier 3 Soul-Sucking Monster is merely the lowest level,” Lord Celestis gravely stated.

”But if it really is, then I’m afraid we can’t do much.”

The crowd understood, if it indeed were the Soul-Sucking Monster, then the ’Lifebound Spark’ of the Spark Mechanism would be its best food, completely unprotected.

”I understand,” Huang Yuanli nodded, pondering for a moment before turning to Dr. Yuu with a suggestion that wasn’t quite a solution.

”Plant more trees, at least these ’Species Spores’ are not within the Soul-Sucking Monster’s constraint range.”

SS-Level Species Spores would merely be drained by the Soul-Sucking Monsters; however, if they were SSS-Level or even Space Giant Beast Level Species Spores, they might reverse the situation and suppress the Tier 3 Soul-Sucking Monsters.

Dr. Yuu nodded firmly, sincerely expressing: ”I’d really love to study a Soul-Sucking Monster!”

Huang Yuanli ignored him, stepping towards the dried Species Spores, placing her hand on them, and in the next moment, a sense of ethereal clarity swept through the surroundings.

It was as if a transparent eyeball was hung on the ’spore corpse.’

Having mastered the majority of the ’Brain-in-a-Vat’ Power, Huang Yuanli could ’plant’ an eyeball on any radiation bloodline species.

In the following period, she planted ’eyes’ on all the Species Spores and deployed tens of thousands of player patrols, also equipping them with eyes.

These players were all on a biological flow path, and though likely to be instantly killed if they encountered Soul-Sucking Monsters, so long as not all were eliminated, she could pinpoint the enemy.

Once located, the Star Destroyer would execute a destructive strike.

Though Soul-Sucking Monsters are not immortal, once they absorb energy exceeding their tier by several magnitudes, they can explode.

Whether this results in death or splitting into more entities is uncertain.

After all, Calamity Species are challenging to eliminate; suppression is a significant achievement.

...

Bad news soon started arriving continuously.

One thousand-player patrol squads were entirely wiped out.

Coordinates could not be determined.

The signal of an exploration ship disappeared.

Space coordinates could not be determined.

A newly developed A-level Radiation Beast was drained.

Space coordinates could not be determined.

However, there was some good news.

For instance, Gao Yuanyuan, through Virtual Invasion, engaged the enemy using residual signals in the cosmic vacuum.

Although the engagement was brief due to the ’Light Net’ not being deployed and the chaotic signal environment, she could confirm that the enemy was not solely a ’Soul-Sucking Monster,’ or rather, the attempt at invasion involved more than just Soul-Sucking Monsters; it was more like a Tier 3 Professional manipulating Soul-Sucking monsters, leaning towards a brain superpower-side, and deleted Gao Yuanyuan’s invasion data in an instant.

This was regarded as good news mainly because tamed ’Soul-Sucking Monsters’ are far less dangerous than wild ones.

Once tamed, Soul-Sucking Monsters cannot split, evolve, or integrate into a group.

This seems to be a self-preservation mechanism akin to ’group consciousness,’ a survival tactic.

However, there’s no evidence proving Soul-Sucking Monsters possess such ’group consciousness’; moreover, this conclusion doesn’t explain why they, upon reaching a certain number, self-consume and destroy.

Unless the group consciousness of Soul-Sucking Monsters aligns with the Cosmic Evil God’s portrayal.

What reassures the legion’s high command is that a certain Mr. G is finally returning.
