Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1011: Chapter 117: Inspection 3

In the cosmos, carbon-based species are incredibly diverse.

But this statement isn’t entirely accurate.

What’s truly diverse isn’t the species themselves, but their perspectives on ’evolution’.

Companion races, carrion-eating species, devouring civilizations, cloning civilizations...

For some intelligent species, ’evolution itself’ is their greatest religion. And for the Stans Mini Whale tribe, nothing embodies life value more than ’evolution’.

Gao Gong felt he couldn’t let down this ’Genetic Bodhisattva’s’ contribution, so he decided to spend 200 credit points, plus Tansos’ personal subsidy of 300 credit points, to buy the genetic rights from that soft-bodied spaceship captain.

After swiping the credit points, a small transmission device quickly sent in a fish tank.

Tansos, this mini whale, was truly mini. Although it resembled a giant whale, its size was only as big as a palm.

But Gao Gong felt a rich surge of biological energy from it.

Its cells displayed an incredibly strong compatibility, merely touching Gao Gong’s biological magnetic field had a feeling of integrating into Gao Gong’s bodily shell.

”How do you plan to consume me? I personally recommend steaming, with my tribe’s specially mixed sauce, capable of preserving cell vitality while allowing you to enjoy the fresh and delicate, lingering taste.”

Fish King Tansos said eagerly.

”In the Brunel-Mir Stellar Vortex, our Stans Mini Whale tribe is consistently ranked among the ’top ten flavors that Seed of Life must taste’.”

”Is it really that tasty? Boss, can I have a bite?”

Xiao Yu, who unknowingly snuck up, swallowed and asked.

”Uh, no rush,” Gao Gong chuckled: ”First, cooperate with our experiment, and after it’s completed, I’ll eat you.”

A shell of an intelligent species with high fusion is very valuable for research.

[Your Personality -100]

Watching the mini whale being taken away by Dr. Yuu, Gao Gong didn’t let this small interlude linger in his mind, but instead gazed at the direction of the space window, at the ’Arc Great Wall’ that nearly covered half the external view, his eyes slightly solemn.

Is it such a coincidence?

Returning just now and coinciding with the Galen people’s inspection—the crucial point is still not knowing what they’re checking for exactly.

Could it really be about checking me?

One must know there are quite a few things on my ship that are not so examination-friendly.

Should I rely on the Purple Giant Star as a cover, or, use the Memory Mother’s authority to blend directly through?

The former might not be effective, and the latter, well, it’s a Tier 4 spaceship, if traces of Information Celestial Calamity are found—it’s a serious problem.

After all, a Level 3 civilization already has channels to communicate with the Civilization Council, and the Council’s clerks have probably already explained cosmic common knowledge to them, which includes the dangers of ’Civilization Celestial Calamity’.

So, how exactly to proceed depends on the feedback.

Seeing the Arc Great Wall, Gao Gong had already dispatched his ’Cyber Hacker’, and just now, the virtual avatar entered the ’Public Channel’ to spread the virus.

But Gao Gong’s target wasn’t the Galen people; it was those interstellar spaceships that had completed the inspection.

Although they quickly got transmitted away by the Space Bubble after inspection, the brief stay period is the perfect time for hacking.

For an advanced hacker, hacking is just a matter of moments.

Swiftly, the temperature in the air increased, a fist-sized flame bird stopped on Gao Gong’s shoulder, its tiny beak spat out sparks composed of data files, landing on Gao Gong’s shoulder, then the hacked approval files got delivered into the biological computer.

’Ah, so they’re searching for mighty mechanical creations.’

Gao Gong immediately realized that their search is likely related to the ’Throne Reserve’.

Behind every ’Throne Reserve’ lies a powerful mechanical force, even a mechanical civilization.

Gao Gong’s presence might have given them the illusion that suddenly, a new emerging Level 3 civilization appeared near the stellar vortex.

How could one allow others to snore beside their bed?

Gao Gong suddenly understood their intentions, perhaps they even want to acquire his side’s Spark Technology—because it’s also a mechanical intelligence route.

For the Mechanical Civilization, this is tantamount to a new development path.

”Now that’s understood, I know what to do.”

...

Time passed quickly, and the Galen people’s inspection soon arrived at the Star Destroyer.

Unlike the beautiful elven appearance of the Mirta people, though both are humanoid species, rigidity, determination, and dominance are ingrained in this species.

Moreover, Galen people aren’t exactly pleasing in appearance, with mottled copper-red skin, supposedly originating from their mother star, a high-temperature scorching heavy metal planet. From forehead to chin is a protruding line, resembling a poorly printed 3D line—this is the unique ’lifeline’ of the Galen people. Anciently, the ’lifeline’ was tied to their fate, career, and power, but technological advancements proved it as mere superstition, the ’lifeline’ is merely the aggregation of metal elements within Galen bodies.

Three Tier 3 Galen people descended, with a ’boom’ landing on the deck, producing a heavy sound like a block of stone hitting metal.

Among carbon-based species, Galen people belong to the ’metal element-rich beings’, they have a strong absorption of metal elements, hence their carbon fusion easily incorporates some mechanical weapons.

”Inspect!” the leading Galen commanded severely.

”Be my guest,” Gao Gong smiled, with an attitude of let others check as they wish.

Another Galen took out a detector, raising a golden eyebrow.

This biological magnetic field is so dense!!!

”Is this a biological spaceship?”

The third Galen inserted their hand into the ground, pulling out, revealing branch-like slime on their fingers.

”Well, I installed some biological weapons on the ship.”

Gao Gong beckoned, and quickly, the ground began to melt, transforming into flesh, then extending tendrils, playfully twirling around fingers.

The leading Galen said nothing, rather, directed scanning equipment to scan around, and soon, a first-level planar holograph emerged, revealing internals and equipment.

This naturally included players engaged in various activities out of boredom.

A significant portion of players rushed out to see aliens.

”Wow! Golden skin!”

”Why is there a stripe on this one’s face?”

”This alien’s rank seems pretty high, can we blow them up?”

”Is this alien well-endowed?”

...

The three Galen people cared little for the players’ opinions, focusing on these interstellar mercenaries’ weapons and equipment.

Implanted biological cells, weapon plugins, modified bodies...

Generally, modified civilizations may be strong early on, but as civilization develops, they gradually fall behind.

To ascend the Mechanical Throne, one must be a ruler of the Mechanical Realm.

Organisms are impossible choices.

Players weren’t intimidated by these high-level NPCs, even trying to talk and receive tasks—naturally, the Galen ignored them.

A few old hands, quick-witted, approached Gao Gong to inquire for intel.

”Boss, who are these three?”

”Galen people, here to check the interstellar highway.”

”Oh, it’s a toll booth, even interstellar highways charge,” Player One remarked.

”I wonder what’s the XP of these aliens?” Player Two curiously asked.

Now that you ask, I’m awake.

Gao Gong immediately got invigorated.
