Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1025: Chapter 131: Investigation 1

Sola looked down with cold eyes, his gray pupils revealing a trace of chilling indifference.

As a former member of the Telekinesis Dynasty Restoration Society, he had enough discontent with the current state of the Federation.

The loose administrative power, the all-encompassing technology oligarchs, and the military leaders’ double-dealings.

But as the old saying goes, the change of regime in the evolution of civilization is like changing coats.

No one likes wearing old clothes.

And after failing to rise up once again and being thrown into the Federation’s high-security prison, even Sola had to admit that the Telekinesis Dynasty could not be restored.

Nobody wanted to return to that era shrouded in imperialism.

Yes, the Mirta regime of the time was an even more totalitarian military regime than the Galen Republic.

Later, just as he was ready to face death calmly, a big figure pulled him out of prison, changed his identity, and had him join the Anti-Trafficking Bureau.

Aside from the special identity of the big figure, he was willing to stay in this department for two reasons: First, this special job could trouble those oligarchs. He hadn’t forgotten the roles they played behind the scenes when the Telekinesis Dynasty fell apart.

Second, the bloodline theory developed during the Telekinesis Dynasty made him deeply disgusted by interstellar immigration. To him, these stowaways were like cockroaches sneaking into his home. If he could eliminate one, he would.

According to the words of the Interstellar Society, this is ’species purity.’

Thus, when Chawei came out to greet him, he was met with an unapologetic look of disgust from the golden-robed Mirta.

”Lieutenant, is there anything I can assist you with?”

Although a Federation lieutenant might be insignificant in the eyes of some big shots, to a civilian like Chawei, he was a formidable character who could decide his life or death, especially since the other party was the golden-skinned Death God of the Anti-Trafficking Bureau!

”Have you seen these two people?”

Sola didn’t mince words, and with a touch to his temple, he gently pulled out a wisp of white mist, which condensed into two figures, one large and one small, illusions of Gao Gong and Lolita.

”No, I haven’t seen them,” Chawei shook his head honestly.

Sola frowned, because according to the information from the insider, there should be two stowaways hidden on this planet.

The time the other party arrived was within the last six months.

Could it be that this person in front was a traitor?

With a thought, Sola’s eyes grew even colder.

He bypassed him directly, went to a quantum computer processing center in the alloy atmosphere, and with higher-level permissions, directly extracted the entry and exit records of this planet over the past six months for verification.

There were originally not many people coming and going on this industrial planet, and in a moment, Sola finished checking, his frown deepening.

No, that’s impossible!

His gaze accidentally lingered on a mechanical body, which was a Green Day Envoy.

And according to the data, those two stowaways were most likely carbon-based species.

”Deploy a wide-range carbon-based detector.”

With Sola’s words, a dozen or so golden seeds shot out from the golden starship and quickly landed on the planet’s surface. On the shipboard computer’s screen, large-scale light waves appeared, sweeping over and marking all carbon-based creatures on the planet one by one.

Apart from the Tier 3 Federation Mechanicians, indeed, there were no outsiders.

”Take me down to verify!” Sola didn’t believe in such absurdity.

”Is this necessary, Sola,” a golden-robed Mirta person floated in the void, lazily saying.

”The list itself came with some questionable parts. The Morbi people are seasoned offenders. How could it be so easy for us to get the stowaway list? In nine out of ten cases, it’s someone from their own group wanting to use us to eliminate dissent.”

”And this is an industrial planet; where else would stowaways run? If not to use this planet as a springboard and sneak into some new ship, who knows where they’ve jumped to by now.”

”According to your words, should we just give up?”

Sola turned his head coldly, looking at another Anti-Trafficking Bureau lieutenant.

Most people on this golden ship knew that this one was a plant sent by a certain oligarch, almost an open secret.

The other party shrugged without care:

”My point is simple, we should target more manageable roles, like the one next to you. Isn’t he a stowaway from a long time ago?”

Chawei hurriedly explained: ”I have already obtained Federation identification, and I have forty-three thousand points in the Mechanician Union. I’m a Federation Mechanic...”

”Enough, no more nonsense,” Sola frowned, speaking to the other golden-robed person: ”I must thoroughly investigate the stowaways on this planet!”

”Then go ahead and investigate,” the other responded with a light laugh: ”But we colleagues prefer to do some easier capture work.”

Sola turned, looking at the remaining golden-robed Mirta people. Some colleagues avoided his gaze, while others had indifferent expressions.

For them, it didn’t matter who they caught, they would naturally choose those easier to capture.

Plus, interstellar smuggling had almost been developed into an industrial chain by those large conglomerates, even the Anti-Trafficking Bureau, a core department of the Federation, had been infiltrated.

Better to have less trouble than more.

Just let these two thorns fight it out, whoever wins, they’d listen to.

Sola remained silent for a moment, then said: ”Fine, you go to other planets to investigate, I’ll come to join you after I finish my investigation here.”

”Suit yourself then.”

Soon, the golden starship entered light-speed mode, and with the interstellar high-speed channel’s assistance, it turned into a white line and vanished from its original place.

Sola turned his head, looking at Chawei.

”Gather all your people, I need to check them one by one.”

...

Meanwhile, on the Anti-Trafficking Bureau’s starship, the previous thorn was complaining to a holographic figure:

”Sis, that Sola is stubborn, I can’t persuade him, he insists on investigating, so I can only take the others and leave first, but I can’t guarantee what he might find out.”

The figure of Xun in the image revealed a gentle smile.

”That’s enough, if he wants to investigate, let him. If the guy gets caught, that’s just bad luck.”

”Sis, why are you so concerned about that stowaway, you can’t be unaware that we Mirta people have reproductive isolation from other intelligent species, can you?”

Xun looked at him speechlessly.

”What nonsense are you thinking, I’m merely interested in the abilities of that stowaway.”

”By the way, have you found any leads on the matters teacher asked you to focus on?”

”No, I used the Anti-Trafficking Bureau’s Dark Net for a long time and still couldn’t find a trace of the ’Mechanical Throne.’ I can only be sure it’s not in our Star Domain.”

”This matter is very important, concerned with teacher’s further breakthrough, you must pay attention!”

”Of course, we, the Royal Family, initially dissolved just to ensure the teacher’s further progress,” the thorn said seriously, then smiled strangely:

”If Sola and these Royalists knew that the mastermind behind the dynasty’s fall was our teacher, the last Telekinesis Emperor, I wonder what thoughts he would have.”

Xun said calmly:

”If Civilization Ascension succeeds, all Mirta people would have Tier 4 Royal Bloodline, and if it fails, all Mirta people would die, the Imperial Family being no exception.”

”According to teacher’s calculations, switching from an imperial system to a federal system, the Ascension chance evolves from 15.6% to 18.4%, that’s all we’re aiming for.”
