Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1017: Chapter 123: Message 4

In a Carbon-Based Civilization, if it doesn’t follow the ’Biological Civilization Route’ but the ’Technological Civilization Route’, it will ultimately face a problem.

That is, as technology penetrates every aspect of society, people become increasingly dependent on technology and on AI.

This increases the likelihood of a ’Mechanical Revolution’.

This is similar to the extensive use of ’Clones’, which can lead to clone rebellions; the extensive use of ’AI’, causing massive unemployment; the use of ’Space Technology’, increasing the risk of invasion by Space Species.

Whatever is gained, something must be lost.

This is also a threshold that a civilization inevitably has to cross.

But the Galen Republic is somewhat special.

Its uniqueness lies in the fact that as humanoid creatures among carbon-based species, they have too much metal element in their bodies.

This has advantages, such as naturally strong physiques, an affinity to machinery +100, and being adept at manufacturing machines and developing technology.

But the drawbacks are also evident.

Once ’Carbon Fusion’ is completed, then the body irreversibly evolves towards ’semi-mechanization’, with biological organs beginning to evolve into mechanical parts.

And the evolution of civilization is never just technological evolution, but also species evolution.

The simplest standard is that a mature Level 1 Civilization must have Tier 1 species as its main race.

By analogy—

The race in a Level 3 Civilization must also be a Tier 3 species.

If this is achieved, only then can ’Civilization Ascension’ be completed.

Otherwise, given the physical strength of intelligent species, they will inevitably fail to complete ascension transformation.

This leads, for the Galen people, to a bug that is unavoidable.

To achieve fusion evolution, the degree of mechanization will irreversibly deepen.

While without evolution, civilization will stop here and cannot progress further.

According to outsiders who don’t know the weight, transforming is transformation, isn’t it just becoming mechanical life?

But for most humanoid species, in fact, they are very opposed to such transformation; who wishes to turn into a robot without reason?

Who, upon introspection, would want to become another species?

If this kind of operation is forcefully pushed from the top down, it will inevitably cause widespread opposition, significantly decreasing the civilization’s centripetal force, even leading to collapse.

Moreover, once such societal transformation is carried out, the worldview, ethics, and technology tree must all restart.

If handled poorly, a powerful civilization will fall apart.

In the cosmos, numerous such negative examples have occurred, where technological evolution failed, leading to civilization decomposition.

Furthermore, even if forcibly advanced, it will still pose significant risks.

For instance, during mechanization, can the human body be compatible, will it cause large-scale rejection and death?

Once the brain is modified, hackers, cosmic evil gods, interstellar terrorist organizations will absolutely not miss this rare opportunity during such a defensive gap period.

Transforming too slowly, too many unexpected factors; transforming too quickly, failure rates are too high.

Let’s not say anything else, the neighboring Mirta Federation definitely will not just watch.

The ’Telekinesis Mecha’, a technology unique to the Federation, can not only manipulate armor but has a special attack against AI. Once becoming a mechanical civilization, will it lead to failure in the Civilization War then?

This is even more unacceptable than civilization decomposition!

Fortunately, every civilization with an extremely favorable growth trend has a large number of talents internally.

As early as in the era of Planet Civilization, the top scientists among the Galen people had developed a targeted serum to suppress the concentration of metal elements.

As civilization evolved to Level 2, a series of biological potions were further developed to enhance physical fitness and suppress mechanization.

However, this form of evolution indirectly suppressed the combat instinct of the Galen people, which also led to the reputation that Galen people are only good at building ships but not individual combat.

Moreover, this physical problem is definitely something that must be resolved.

The longer it drags on, the more troublesome it becomes.

Thus, during the term of the 194th Governor, under his opposition-defying efforts, the ’Metal Executor Plan’ was approved.

The essence of this plan is to pave a safe path for race evolution through the ’Tier 3 Combat Species Development’.

’According to public information, there are seventeen branches of ’Metal Executors’ with different evolutionary directions, among which the military controls three evolutionary directions.’

’Coincidentally, all three military ’Executors’ lean towards mechanization, not sure what type Kiliman is.’

Gao Gong recalled that during the earlier battle with Kiliman, the latter transformed into a ’Metal Giant’ in an instant, which seemed less like a mechanical transformation, more like some sort of ’Superpower’, or a ’Transformation Skill’.

’Normally, it appears as a carbon-based body, but once it enters battle mode, it’s 100% metal, a mutant?’

’If following Kiliman’s evolutionary direction, the Galen Republic will move towards a ’Mutant Civilization’ within Carbon-Based Civilization.’

’Mutant Civilization’ belongs to one type of superpower-side civilization, if developed well, can be very formidable, because nationwide superpower, under the population base, may lead each year to the birth of a few, or even dozens of SSS-Level superpower geniuses.

But ’Mutant Civilization’ also has its drawbacks, according to the system analysis, it inherently decreases regime stability by 20%, racial centripetal force by 20%, and increases chaotic ideology by 20%.

Gao Gong was somewhat pessimistic.

Because the Galen Republic is a military regime, an authoritarian government; generally, such a civilization is very opposed to the option of Darwinism and blind evolution.

Gao Gong suddenly somewhat understood why the other party chose to secretly cooperate with him; perhaps in the competition of the evolutionary pathway, this figure’s resources began to dwindle, and the backing support behind him also slowly decreased.

This forced the other party to walk down the evil path.

And the liberating biotechnology of the Cyber Test Field is the most likely to achieve significant research results in a short time.

...

Drinking a complete cup of ’Mostar Juice’, the next moment, a dizzying rotation, an indescribable yet extremely heated touch instantly came over. In a daze, Gao Gong seemed to transform into a massive void worm, existing in a special dimension, enveloped by endless space bubbles, the repeated changes in space parameters, like the small hands of a masseuse, constantly massaging every part from inside to outside, from body to soul, bringing infinite enjoyment.

”Fantastic!!”

[Your willpower +100 points]

Gao Gong suddenly thrust out a hand, grabbing a small humanoid organism in a hood, whose hooked claw was just about to latch onto the back of his neck.

This planetary black market is no safe place, robbing, fighting, street brawls are commonplace.

Gao Gong pressed down on the opponent’s head; in a ’drunken state’, the space destructive energy extracted from earlier seemed to return to the body. With a squeeze of his five fingers, the undersized organism was instantly swallowed by space folds, leaving not a trace of flesh or blood.

Which startled those nearby with ill intent, reducing the number of prying glances significantly.

Compared to ’Spatial Shifting Talent’, a powerful organism more easily comprehends ’Planet Magnetic Field Control’.

But this does not mean Gao Gong has no bit of physical memory left.

And by combining the two, ’Spatial Superpower’ can be reignited.

Just then, the communication device rang, a call from Dr. Yuu.

”Yes, what, the fruit is mature?! I’m coming right away!!”
