Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1013: Chapter 119: Review 5

Everything given must come with a demand.

The other side probably had something they needed him to do, this Gao Gong could be certain of.

Otherwise, why exchange star communication codes and engage with him, the other party wasn’t idly seeking trouble for fun.

Sure enough, not two days later, the communication code was activated, and the virtual projection of Kiliman appeared in the room.

”Sir, we meet again,” Gao Gong said, pretending to be very respectful.

”It seems you know I have business with you?” Kiliman opened.

”I somewhat anticipated it, after all, someone of your stature wouldn’t privately give me a communication code for nothing.”

”Yes, you owe me a favor.”

”Uh... that’s right, without your clearance, I’d probably still be under your scrutiny, and some biological weapons might have been confiscated,” Gao Gong paused, considering it a verbal favor and forcibly accepted it.

”That’s not what I’m talking about.”

Kiliman shook his head, and with a wave of his hand, a projection of a ’Ghost Ship’ appeared in his palm.

Wasn’t this the one previously suppressed by the air bubble?

”Have you heard of the ’Hand of Black Dimension’?”

Without waiting for Gao Gong to respond, Kiliman continued:

”This is an interstellar terrorist group as notorious as the ’Liberation Association.’ It’s infamous for conducting terrorist activities in interstellar society, causing massive casualties.”

”The difference is, while Liberation Association pursues only the ’concept of death,’ the ’Hand of Black Dimension’ aims more at sacrifices, offering lives to a special dimension to gain favor from dimension consciousness. If they could sacrifice a planet teeming with life, they could directly elevate a life form to a higher tier.”

”Oh, but what does this have to do with me?” Gao Gong asked, baffled.

Only reckless players would dare walk the path of the Cosmic Evil God followers; he only had one life.

Moreover, in interstellar society, terrorist organizations were a dime a dozen, and even some civilizations’ ideology, on other civilizations’ terms, were standard ’terror civilizations.’ But what did all these have to do with him?

”That Ghost Ship was dispatched by the ’Hand of Black Dimension,’ and its target is you.”

”Huh?”

Gao Gong was taken aback. Although with the intelligence of a Tier 3 species, he didn’t think the other side would fabricate this, it still felt absurd, so he tentatively asked:

”Is someone hiring them to assassinate me?”

After all, normally, terrorist organizations have side businesses as assassin organizations. Although he didn’t know whom he offended, this seemed the most likely scenario.

Kiliman did not act as a Riddler and directly revealed the results of his investigation:

”You exterminated the Xie Family in the Mechanical Serpent Constellation, and according to my intel, the Xie Family cooperated with many underground forces, including the ’Hand of Black Dimension.’ The Xie Family once used their unique ’family ancestral techniques’ to help the Hand of Black Dimension extract souls and enhance their members. With the Xie Family exterminated by your hand, the ’Xie Family Ancestral Hall’ likely fell into your hands, and the opposition sent the Ghost Ship probably for that item.”

Gao Gong contemplated silently.

The other party being able to investigate that he eliminated the ’Xie Family’ wasn’t surprising.

And the logic was sound; that ’Collector’ personally said that the Xie Family itself was one of the biggest channels in the black market. Over the years, if they hadn’t contacted some dark forces, it would actually be peculiar.

Hand of Black Dimension, dimensional sacrifice, soul extraction, dimensional monster?!

If it’s truly a dimensional monster, that would be troublesome.

Among information lifeforms, dimensional monsters are perpetually the most troublesome. Not only do they possess the information life’s ’undying attribute,’ but also the insuppressible ’dimensional traits.’ They don’t die, nor do they extinguish, offending one would insert an endless antagonistic boss in the storyline.

Luckily, the one to act was the ’Arc Great Wall,’ with Level 3 Civilization’s overlord capabilities, they’re not afraid of being provoked.

Gao Gong pondered briefly, combining the subtle hint from the other party, finally understanding their intentions a bit.

All kinds of biological weapons, coupled with advanced biological architecture on his ship, and learning about exterminating the Xie Family, it was easy to speculate his origins.

And the Cyber Test Field was renowned for its forbidden transformations.

The other party was likely eyeing his ’biotechnology’!

So, he bluntly said:

”Mr. Kiliman, since you’re helping me so much, I won’t hide it from you. Frankly, I hail from the ’Mechanical Split Star’, specifically a Cyber Test Field. Although registered as an interstellar mercenary on the black market, I’m actually serving a large biological group in the Cyber Test Field. If there’s any special project you’d like to experiment with, I’m willing to connect you.”

Kiliman’s cold eyes finally softened a bit.

”Indeed, there are some human experiments I need you ’experts’ for, and because of the secrecy of this matter, I hope no second person knows about it.”

”Of course.”

”This contact is insecure, let’s schedule a place and time, I’ll send my team to liaise with you, and they’ll inform you how to proceed...”

...

After the communication ended, Gao Gong touched his chin with a peculiar expression.

The opponent being able to deduce his identity from traces was fitting for a Level 3 Civilization Elite’s performance.

However, his intention for ’human experiments’ did somewhat catch him off guard.

In most carbon-based civilizations, conducting human experiments was a forbidden option, exposure would surely lead to infamy, especially for official personnel, losing their position was guaranteed.

But in the Cyber Test Field, human experimentation was trivial. Without ample human experiments, where would numerous human body plugins come from?

A modification-centered civilization pondering self-modification, that wasn’t seeking their own downfall.

Thus, many options deemed forbidden in some civilizations, for the sake of certain data, would be secretly transferred to some underground forces or even other civilizations.

This way, carbon-based regimes could maintain their great and righteous image, and the civilization’s centripetal force wouldn’t diminish.

”Just unclear who this guy represents, whether it’s some high-ranking member of the Galen Republic, a department, a faction, or the family power behind him, besides Metal Executor...”

Gao Gong decided to ask the Collector for insight once he returned to the Mechanical Serpent Constellation, relying on the Collector’s network would likely reveal some insider news.

...

”You’re back, good, very good, once you return to the Golden Hall, we’ll have a good chat, something to your interest, regarding the ’Long-horned Whale Alpha,’ now there’s a twist, hey, Old Walter’s methods are impressive, you’ll see when you return.”

As ’Pai Daxing’s’ holographic projection faded, Gao Gong once again furrowed his brow.

The twist couldn’t be that someone took over the resource planet, could it? Or perhaps the Walter Star Thief Group got recruited by some civilization.

After all, a resource planet’s value is a hundred times that of a regular planet, even Level 3 Civilizations would covet it.

Soon, the Mechanical Serpent Constellation was within sight.

The space dock received prior notification, and the anti-gravity hatch slowly opened, but Gao Gong signaled not to dock, no need for a traction beam, as most people disembarked from the ship, connected to the planet’s orbit via a mobile platform.

Moreover, not only did the Star Destroyer stay out, the exploration ships Gao Gong previously purchased also received signals and flew out, and soon, the fleet composed of these ships once again entered the interstellar orbit, disappearing.
