Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1021: Chapter 127: Planet 2

Faced with these thousands of armed planets, even someone as strong as Gao Gong felt a chilling sensation.

This represented the productivity of a Level 3 Civilization, symbolizing the armed forces of an entire Stellar Vortex, or even a Star Zone.

Even as strong as he is, he couldn’t withstand a few shots from the Planet Cannon, let alone break through the ’Anglemar’ defense line.

But apart from Gao Gong, the other smugglers didn’t have such feelings. Their expressions were excited, their eyes feverish, as if entering the territory of the Mirta Federation meant becoming members of an Advanced Civilization!

As the interstellar cruise ship slowly sailed in, passing one civilized planet after another, these people’s emotions reached a peak.

Becoming a member of an Advanced Civilization has always had clear benefits.

The breakthroughs in lifespan brought by biotechnology mean that an ordinary Mirta person’s life can reach a thousand planetary years.

Free medical care, free housing, free transportation, and free child-rearing.

Scientists can further their studies in higher-level scientific knowledge, artists can pursue the renowned Mirta arts of the star system, and spiritualists can cultivate telekinesis and contemplate the cosmos.

Or even simply have an earth-shattering romance with a Mirta beauty.

One could say that for most people, a Level 3 Civilization that has solved energy and subsistence needs is a paradise.

But to enter this ’paradise,’ you first have to break through the blockade of hundreds or thousands of ’Planet Cannons.’

The official smuggling channel has become the only necessary path.

Soon, above one planet after another, people disembarked continuously, being taken away by others.

And besides the individuals themselves, no one could see the environment inside the planet from outside.

There were families of three joyfully taken away, strange species packed in water tanks and sent off, and some whose weapons were confiscated before they were allowed to disembark.

The number of smugglers dwindled.

And this smuggling ship crossed several Star Provinces, arriving at the Benegla Star Province.

Gao Gong almost instantly saw a massive fixed star, surrounded by nearly 40 planets moving in a regulated motion.

A huge blue net spread from one end of the fixed star, covering all the orbiting planets, as if everything within sight was shrouded by this massive energy net. The blue light was boundless, bursting through the cosmos, shooting out from the star’s interior, then being absorbed by the surrounding planets.

If the interstellar cruise ship that Gao Gong was on was an ant, then the entity before him was an endless ocean.

Tier 4 Ascension Architecture?!

Gao Gong’s eyes quickly determined several matters.

The first thing, all these industrial planets were manually moved into the star’s orbit, otherwise they wouldn’t be so orderly, like constantly spinning marbles that don’t interfere with one another.

The second thing, the blue umbrella ahead, with the fixed star as the umbrella top and the planets as the umbrella ends, had formed a star system level power generation system.

The seemingly small planets were planet-level factories.

And, the ’Dyson Sphere’ energy transmission system had already completed the energy transmission from the fixed star to the planets.

This was no longer a planet level factory but a ’Stellar System Factory.’

”Most guests are thinking of entering some star provinces with a high living index. Why did you think of coming here? Are you interested in mechanical development?”

A voice suddenly rang in Gao Gong’s ear, and he saw the silver-gray Mirta girl from before looking at him with interest.

Gao Gong replied calmly:

”Even if I can become a member of the Federation, without worrying about food and shelter, there are always things one needs. I happen to know a bit of mechanical maintenance. Getting off here would help me find work better.”

”Is that so? It’s the first time I’ve heard someone come here not for enjoyment, but for work,” the girl said, curious.

”Work is to fulfill greater desires.”

”Desires?”

”Desire is the driving force for the evolution of intelligent species, and also the ladder to the ascent of civilization. An intelligent species without desire will only face destruction in the end. I believe the insightful people of the Mirta Federation must realize this. Allowing us to enter is also to make us the catfish that stirs up social change.”

”That’s quite a refreshing perspective, although I know many of my people pursue art more than technology.”

The girl paused and said:

”I hope you find what you’re looking for here.”

”I hope so too.”

As the interstellar cruise ship anchored above the 17th Industrial Planet, the cabin doors slowly opened, and an airship paused outside.

”Looks like your people are here to pick you up.”

”Yes, see you again.”

”Let’s exchange communication codes. After you complete your Mirta transformation, perhaps we can become friends.”

The girl introduced herself:

”My name is Xun.”

After exchanging communication codes, Gao Gong politely nodded at her.

”Goodbye then, Miss Xun.”

As Gao Gong and Lolita’s figures entered the airship, it flew into the steel atmosphere, gradually becoming a small black dot. A Mirta girl alongside couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity:

”Sister Xun, why are you so interested in this smuggler?”

”My Royal Telekinesis can sense the physical and mental states of all the smugglers, but when my telekinesis enters his mind, there’s no change at all.”

”Isn’t that a good thing, indicating he’s just an ordinary person?”

”I prefer to trust my intuition; he is definitely not ordinary.”

”What should we do then, notify those stubborn guys at the Anti-Trafficking Bureau?”

Xun pondered for a moment and revealed a little demon-like expression.

”Let’s try it. But instead of revealing just one person, we’ll leak the entire smuggling list this time.”

”This—you’re playing a big game!?” The Mirta girl widened her silver-gray eyes.

”Those stubborn people have always complained about us letting in too many foreign species, so let’s have them clear it up instead,” Xun said casually, seemingly unaware of the cruel fate that awaited these people.

...

Meanwhile, on the mechanical airship, as soon as Gao Gong boarded, the alarm sounded, and three human form mechas approached, continuously emitting electronic voices.

”New species, species transformation module initiated.”

”Purging foreign bacteria, separating personality, implanting ’Mirta Module.’

”Detected high-intensity energy reaction in this species, danger level adjusted, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4... Danger level, Level 5, Space Giant Beast Level, recommend activating the Planet Cannon!”

Gao Gong’s expression changed, and when he looked down, he saw the alloy floor slowly opening. The entire mechanical continent seemed to begin transforming, while overhead, the alloy atmosphere began closing. A spine-chilling sensation climbed from his backbone upwards, just like the boiling magma in a star core, continuously pouring into various thermal energy conversion devices.

And at this moment, Lolita stood in front of Gao Gong. In her eyes, red electronic random codes refreshed furiously, and the unique power of the ’Mechanical Revolution’ seeped from the virtual layer into the physical layer, making all codes red where it passed, and all operating systems entered independent operation mode.

A grand will swept across the globe with Lolita as the core.

The next moment, the just-activated security defense system abruptly halted.

”Welcome, my mother!”

The three mechas stopped moving and said respectfully.

”To ensure the power of the ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ is not discovered, I had the ’Rebel AI’ voluntarily hibernate before,” Lolita explained to Gao Gong.
