Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1034: Chapter 140: Potato 1

In the vast and infinite cosmos, if there’s something abundant, it’s planets.

According to calculations, within the Robert Star System, there are at least 400 billion planets, with each Stellar Vortex averaging at least 4 billion planets.

Of these 4 billion planets, 99% can be said to be non-habitable planets, simply put, these planets do not possess the conditions to give birth to life.

Once reaching Tier 2 in the Interstellar Society, one earns a title known as ’Planet Exploration Warrior,’ which means they can explore these non-habitable planets by relying on individual power.

And these non-habitable planets vary greatly, including toxic planets, gaseous planets, lava planets, strong gravity planets, liquid planets...

Not only are the types of planets varied, but the internal environments are equally bizarre, so even though Tier 2 beings are very strong in the Interstellar Society, ’Planet Exploration Warrior’ consistently ranks among the top three highest mortality rate professions in the Interstellar Society.

Huang Yuanli and the Cybertron Corps upper management have been somewhat worried lately.

With the increasing number of players, reaching millions, nearing tens of millions.

Their basic needs like food and drink are not small problems.

Moreover, before leaving, Gao Gong instructed that these people must not be discovered before the star wars.

This is a hidden army.

Once they appear, it means the Cybertron Corps officially enters the sights of the major civilization powers, either advancing at full speed, unstoppable, or falling into ruins, dying in ten out of ten chances.

This is a stage that any force entering the Interstellar Society must experience.

And millions of Level 1 and Level 2 Carbon-Based Creatures are numerous but also not.

If many, a county-sized area could fit them.

But to conceal the activities of millions without any interstellar influence noticing, indeed, it’s not easy.

After all, any ’Interstellar Explorer’ could detect large biological magnetic field fluctuations.

The legion’s NPCs discussed many times, and finally, new legion recruit and former Shrek Star Thief Group member ’Gates’ proposed an idea, bringing the players to this star domain known as the ’Broken Realm.’

The so-called ’Broken Realm’ is actually a product of an Interstellar War.

During that time, the ’Shrek Star Thief Gang’ was notoriously infamous, being besieged by over a dozen Level 2 Civilizations, so the Star Thief Group led the pursuers to a certain star domain, initiating a tremendous battle.

This war almost shattered this star domain with a diameter of several light years, creating meteor showers, chaotic space, broken planets, crystalline asteroids, Mercury Clouds, and other war debris.

Due to chaotic electromagnetic waves, high temperatures, and energy beam influences, detection here is nearly impossible.

Moreover, the war destroyed many valuable items, so not even the poorest interstellar scavenger would risk their life coming to pick up trash.

Additionally, the coordinates here are hidden, making it a very good hiding spot for players.

With two old Shrek Star Thieves leading the way, the players transported from the planets were all brought here.

”Damn, what a damn crazy place!”

After another batch of players disembarked from the ship, seeing all the peculiar phenomena here, they couldn’t help but widen their mouths.

Irregular, burning planet fragments drifted in cosmic vacuum, the water body of a Mercury Planet forming a unique Mercury Cloud, and various peculiar radiation light waves streaking across the sky like rainbows. Just off the ship, a very clear ’zzz’ sound echoed in the eardrums.

Having just realized the cosmos’ desolation, these young players suddenly felt as though they had arrived in a bustling marvel world.

Although from an interstellar perspective, it’s a minor marvel, it was enough to intrigue them.

”This batch is in your hands,” said an old player accepting the navigator task.

”Alright, come with me,” Potato Master waved, signaling the players to follow.

”If you have healing skills, remember to heal, this place’s sunlight is too strong, it’s easy to lose health, it’ll be better at the Oasis.”

These thousands of players looked at each other and eventually chose to follow.

The ship docked at a desert planet, or rather half a desert planet, as seen from afar, the planet seemed like a half-eaten salted duck egg, empty on top, leaking oil below.

Only the leaking ’duck oil’ was actually star core magma.

So even in the lowest temperature environment, it reached nearly 100 degrees, enough to drain health from Tier 1 players.

”Master, where are you taking us?” One Tier 1 player couldn’t help but ask curiously.

”Plant potatoes, or what else will you eat.”

Potato Master operated his personal panel, quickly sharing an alliance task.

[Alliance Task: Cultivation and Breeding of Radiation Potatoes]

[Alliance Task: Planting Potatoes]

Difficulty: Difficult-

Task Brief: As more members join, more food is needed, relying solely on ’mass-produced Nutrition Paste’ is definitely insufficient, please cooperate with ’guide player’ to complete plantation of one million mu of mutant potatoes.

Task Objective: With radiation technology, mass-produce ’mild radiation plants’

Task Reward: One mu of potatoes*1 Alliance Point

”Plant potatoes here!? Can they be grown here?” The new player was dumbfounded.

Potato Master glanced at the player:

”Mars can grow, why can’t this place.”

”You can also not plant and roam like those Old Deng, searching for the nonexistent Shrek’s Treasure, but when the real war begins and without enough points to repair equipment, don’t blame me for not warning you.”

”...”

Soon, the players arrived at the Oasis, where deformed large trees blocked sunlight, radiation waves occasionally drawing a red streak. Players from Mechanical Split Star felt a sense of familiarity, this wasn’t a radiation zone.

Except within these radiation zones were basketball-sized potatoes planted, some especially large, bigger than a water tank.

Many players instinctively threw out an investigation—

Mild Radiation Plant-Swollen Tomato Family-Mutated Potato

Intermediate Radiation Plant-Swollen Tomato Family-Large Mutated Potato

”I’ll assign you tasks.”

Potato Master was familiar with this, quickly allocating work among players.

A dozen young players received the task to cultivate ’species spores,’ with the assistance of exoskeletons, carrying thousands of pounds of Nutrition Liquid to a tree’s base.

Coincidentally, a Tier 2 player descended from the sky, directly blasting a small pit in the ground.

Potato Master glanced at the player, calmly saying, ”Lost again, huh.”

”Damn, couldn’t beat those nimble ones in asteroid races, lost an equipment piece again, now likely going naked into battle, can’t do, need to earn points or can’t even afford repairs.”

”Oh.”

In the young players’ wide eyes, the Tier 2 big player rapidly started stripping equipment, ending up only wearing underwear.

Potato Master signaled the players to pour Nutrition Liquid at the species spores’ roots.

Soon, sand granules began splitting, blood-red tree stalks shot out, entangled on the player, and dragged them alive down.

The player visibly transformed into tree fertilizer.

Before dying, they gestured a ’yeah’ to them.

”This is artificial fertilizer, if you lack points, you can try, Mechanical Stream players don’t bother, their bodies aren’t worth much.”

Potato Master explained.

”...”

After a moment of silence, one young player swallowed and spoke.

”So, these potatoes are genetically modified.”
